  1. Rumors are that Nate Oats' Alabama assistant, and former Oats assistant at UB, Bryan Hodgson is being brought in to replace Whitesell.
  2. It was instantly ruled 'NO GOAL' by the on-ice officials. The meatheads in Toronto overturned it for laughs.
  3. My latest earworm. And @poojerB @The Poojer he's playing Non Comm.
  4. I was part time but I often pulled the 10p-2a shift. I tended to play more of those nasty punk bands. 😂 Tom Starr was a DJ and was the program director. Robin Sherwin, Dale-something, Jerry "Doctor Rock" Kraus played the heavy stuff. Bob London did afternoons. Peter Hirsch did weekends. I remember I did the early Saturday shift during a snowfall. Got out at 10 and Pete said let's go up to Snow Ridge in Turin. We used to get free passes there. We smoked a doob on the lift and I couldn't make it down the hill from laughing and falling so much. You never realize you are living you best life when you are.

  6. My radio career really got started at WOUR in Utica. One of the last FM rockers where deejays still picked their own songs to play. Every band that came to play in town would drop by the studio to hang out and be interviewed. WOUR was also unique in that southern bands got a lot of airplay from this "northern" station. So we had a lot of friendly ties with groups like Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels Band, Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, etc. So of course when the Rosington-Collins band came to Utica, their first stop after soundcheck was the third floor of 288 Genesee. Sometimes they brought a little something extra with them. Let's just say the razor blades in the studio weren't just there for editing tape. 👃🌨️
  7. Not really. Chychrun wanted to play in his home town. So AZ says we'll accommodate you, unless we get something a lot better elsewhere. They didn't. We are in the playoffs now, as far as our players are concerned. Every game is must-win.
  8. I really tried to get into arena ball. They had an af2 team in Manchester, NH for two years. (The Manchester Wolves) Scoring touchdowns is just so easy it's stupid. I'd rather watch XFL and USFL.
  9. ...with RANCH. Huge markdown.
  10. Does arena football draw well in Albany?
  11. I'm staying since I fully expected PSLs and more expensive seats, so I planned accordingly.
  12. I'm not a nutritional expert but legumes and nuts can provide a decent amount.
  13. And I lived through it. When I started in broadcasting the ownership cap was 7 AM, 7 FM and 7 TV, with limits on how much you could have in one market. (No cross ownership with newspapers, for example.) Then it went to 14, then 21, then, can't own more than half the stations in a market, then we stopped paying attention.
  14. Good for you. I don't think I could go full vegan. I have made one change: I stopped drinking alcohol. Two months now. Made a difference in my blood pressure.
  15. That's open for debate. Newer? Sure. WAY better? To be determined.
  16. What does it cost to heat the outdoors?
  17. Which is terrible. It severely limits your sources for information.
  18. A favorite of mine an old friend used to say to describe indecision: "He didn't know whether to s##t or go bowling."
  19. https://www.fybush.com/nerw-20230227/ Do you listen to, or are even aware of, the HD Radio function in your car, or some home radios? It allows local stations to have multiple digital subchannels. So one radio station becomes two, three or even four. Audacy, the massive media company that owns WGR, happens to be on the verge of bankruptcy. So in a cost-cutting move, they have eliminated all HD digital channels that play music. Why? Because it costs money to pay for music rights on those subchannels. Scott Fybush publishes the weekly Northeast Radio Watch. While it's a subscription service the first story of the week is free, and this week it fits into details of which HD music channels went away, including several in Buffalo and Rochester.

  21. US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis is the perfect stadium IMO. Glass roof lets light in, massive walls open to allow the breeze in. And it cost $1.2B even though it was built in downtown Minneapolis! There are no land acquisition costs with our stadium but it's going to cost $1.4B??? For open air???
  22. You have it completely backwards. It's the over 40 crowd that can't deal with freezing at games, or want to spend Sunday mornings drinking themselves into a stupor. I don't think that's the plan at all. Look at the pictures. The red glow of the "fry lamps" are only in the club seats Exactly. Where can you install radiant heat if there is nothing above you?
