  1. It worked in Buffalo. Even if they only had 10K seats to work with. Beats playing as a lame duck in Oakland.
  2. My closest supermarket puts their cart corrals at the outer limits of the parking lot. It's closer to bring them back in the store.
  3. My dad, when he was alive lived near the Villages, and I flew in and out of MCO often. Never had an issue
  4. Bottom line: NFL franchises are so valuable, the cost of buying the Bills, plus a billion-dollar penalty, won't stop a determined buyer from moving the team. There is nothing you can do to 100% prevent it. That said, the Pegulas are committed to the region and the team is not for sale. Don't lose sleep over things that aren't happening or can't be controlled.
  5. How about fireplace ash? I don't smoke.... tobacco.
  6. Easy guac recipe. Avocados Pace medium chunky salsa Mash avocados and mix in a few spoonfuls (2-4) of salsa. Done.
  7. Summer football would be elite.
  8. The XFL took that plunge and I think it's helping them. Question: If the XFL put a team in Buffalo that played at Highmark, would you go? Would you get season tickets if the prices were reasonable? Looks like XFL seasons start at $100 for 5 home games.
  9. Jerry's shtick works when the Bills and Sabres stink. When the teams are good he does't know what to say. He made a good living amplifying local fan frustrations. Just like Chuck "The Coach" Dickerson on WGR did. A disgruntled ex coach taking out his failings on his old team.
  10. I know folks love mock drafts but I find them tedious. I'm a grumpy old man.
  11. The Athletics are a historic franchise; 122 years old. You have to keep the name.
  12. Yes...but. Keep in mind that the Bills might be worth around $4B. There's an $850MM penalty if the team tries to leave. The Commanders just sold for $6B.
  13. There is no proof that there are no "impact players" outside the top of the draft.
  14. Did you read my post? All the teams are owned by the leagues. This is being done more for TV and gambling than fans in the seats. Watch the XFL rather that the USFL right now. XFL has played longer. Better games.
  15. They play in four cities this year. Two teams based in each city.
  16. A lot of misunderstandings in this thread about these leagues. First off @Gregg they are not competing for talent with the NFL. These are second-chance leagues for players that got cut, or undrafted, to keep playing and hope for another look. FYI, 51 players from the USFL last year earned NFL camp invites. Second, these leagues are backed up by TV networks. The XFL by ESPN/ABC and the USFL by Fox and NBC. They are there mostly to create sports programming in the spring. So far these games are right there ratings-wise with other non-premier sporting events. Third, @Don Otreplyasked why are they doing this again when every other spring league failed? (Which isn't entirely true.) Aside from the TV networks having a stake in these leagues, the reason is sports betting. The USFL is trying to save money by playing in only 4 locations, doubling teams up. So that explains why some games have nobody at them. (Birmingham did have 17,500 at their USFL opener against NJ, but the NO/Pitt game played later at the same stadium had only a handful of fans.) Another big change this year is Fox came to an agreement with the owners of the USFL trademark. That means they can now promote the historical aspect of these teams, show footage of old games and bring back former players. At the Memphis home opener they honored Reggie White who started his career in Memphis during the original USFL. But despite taking a year off I think the XFL has really been the bigger hit. Their teams play in home cities and in some locations get good crowds. (St. Louis, San Antonio) Their rules are more innovative. And probably the biggest plus, is they mic everyone from coaches to refs so you can hear what's being discussed. I really love having Dean Blandino doing live commentary during replays. The Rock, with his experience in acting and WWE, has really created a better product to watch and the USFL has a lot of catching up to do. That will never happen because the NFL does not want any additional liability for CTE, etc. They are more than happy to scout and partner with these leagues for officiating etc, while keeping the connection to them at arm's length.
  17. The problem with UB Bull merch is the Athletic dept not having their act together.
  18. Those people barely pay attention to the team.
  19. The way the season just shook out, if they had won either the FLA or NJD games, Friday vs CBJ was a win-and-in game. That close.
  20. The difference is you can't own a season ticket without a PSL. And once sold, PSLs are owned by the ST holder.
  21. Are we discussing the same thing? You can't buy a ST without a PSL. Yes, you can just buy single seats to 10 games but then it's not a season ticket is it?
  22. If someone down the road wants to buy your season ticket, they have to buy your PSL, don't they?
