  1. It's football season!
  2. No. They still kick field goals. And you have to kick off. Just no more kicked XPs.
  3. Don't lose any sleep over that. No forward pass. That's a gimmick.
  4. a 3pt conversion is from the 10. Oddly it was rarely used this year in the XFL. Frankly I could see the Bills with Allen making hay with a 3pt play.
  5. Half the rules in the NFL were borrowed from college or other leagues, like the 2pt conversion. We have 1 or 2 points after now. Why does 3 ruin it all?
  6. Another interesting rule difference in the XFL is extra points. No more kicking for one. You have to score a TD from 2 yards out for 1 point, 5 yards for 2, or from 10 yards for 3.
  7. Best part is no touchbacks or fair catches. Like open access to video replay and officials conversations. In the XFL the onside kick is replaced by converting a 4th and 15 from your own 25. See above.
  8. It's better than the automatic 25-yard line stuff now. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfl-considers-alternatives-to-the-kickoff-including-the-xfl-model
  9. 1,100 pizzas a day on weekends! https://www.ctinsider.com/living/food/article/modern-apizza-new-haven-ct-pizza-today-18271929.php?fbclid=IwAR1Cvsu1Br71gsqy9G7Ye3PLESUEACx0N4l4aBHET9Po5UPPQjH3kqccVTg
  10. Ever heard the one about the buck and where it stops?
  11. The Shnowman needs to focus on job one, or he'll be shoveling shnow again.
  12. Apparently things are a little chippy at Pats camp. https://www.unionleader.com/sports/patriots/with-injuries-mounting-belichick-lays-down-the-law-with-patriots/article_47309289-a72b-5061-9d9c-c00903450772.html
  13. Maybe after the 5th or 6th Super Bowl win Bill had more say, especially when Adams and Pioli left. Belichick convinced Kraft that he didn't need a GM, or even an offensive coordinator. Compare the Pioli drafts to the ones Belichick ran. Brady covered up a lot of warts.
  14. And what GM brought in Mac Jones? Oh right. My point is the Pats are the "Belichick Show" now, from coaching to player personnel.
  15. Why does Bill get all the credit? What about GM Scott Pioli? Or his mystery strategist Ernie Adams? Those guys played a larger role in the Patriots dynasty than people realize. You're seeing the results when Belichick does it all.
  16. The Pats need a qualified front office. Sometimes I think Belichick's dog really is running the Patriots drafts. And since you can never have an independent GM while Bill is still around, he has to go.
  17. All teams do this. If you aren't trying guys out regularly you aren't doing your job
  18. Prince was arguably the best Super Bowl halftime show ever.
  19. I went to UB in the late 70s, just when the Amherst campus got going. I recall the school had the college atmosphere like a DMV waiting room.
  20. Boeheim's Army comes back from 13 down to smoke BCU by 15. Buffalo alums couldn't find a bucket after 1Q.
  21. 88.7 HD-2 and 94.5 HD-2, as well as streaming. Anyone listening?
  22. Me neither. I'm a total homer.
  23. There are 8 regions in TBT. They try to limit travel by keeping teams near their home region. About half the teams are college alumni. The rest are teams organized to promote a cause or just pick-up teams sponsored by a donor. The great part about Blue Collar U is it allows UB fans to relive that Nate Oats glory era. These players still play the way they did at UB, living up to the blue collar name.
  24. Unavoidable as they are in the same region. Last year Boeheim's Army were upset before they could meet Blue Collar U. But this year we got the matchup of the tournament.
