  1. I was invited over here by a Bills fan who posts on my Pats board. I defy you to find a post of mine in which i've brought up the Patriots without them already being mentioned. If it's happened, I can't remember it. My name is an in-joke with a Bills fan. And who is Paoli?
  2. I talk among my own fans all the time. "Well-mannered?" Where does invective like "knuckle-sucker" and "scum!@#$" fit in with your idea of a "well-mannered conversation?"
  3. I say it was Marc Bulger. I think I read in his passing splits that he faced Buffalo this season.
  4. Shhhhh... PatsBad! BradyBad!
  5. He does that move all the time. Not entirely sure what he means to accomplish with it (although it did nearly get him a safety recently), but it's certainly not him getting "blown up." He leaves his feet intentionally. He's getting "blown up" as much as a RB who leaps over the pile into the end zone is getting "blown up." It's just an alternate route to the intended destination, regardless of its merits.
  6. What the hell are you talking about?
  7. Every team has injuries. The Patriots have just had incredibly large numbers of them over the past two years. These numbers are particularly significant when you consider the success the team has had during the period. You can become nauseous, if you'd like, when people talk of the Patriots overcoming odds. But that doesn't make it any less true.
  8. Yeah. Tough to say, officially. All the injuries are listed as "leg" or "arm" or "hand" and "knee," and Belichick rarely goes into detail beyond saying "he hurt it."
  9. You. As for the topic, with each starter lost to injury, I continue to shake my head in disbelief. This is three years in a row now that the Pats have been absolutely decimated by injury. Eventually, the team needs to look at its own methods in searching for the source of the problem.
  10. Talk about spoiled. On behalf of the Pats, I'll trade Heath Evans for McGahee. Deal?
  11. I still can't believe they threw three straight passes. Ricky had KILLED the Pats that day.
  12. Shhhh. PatsiesBad!
  13. the Sunday night crew seems incapable of calling a game without selecting one player to obsess over every week. it's not enough to simply talk about what's happening on the field, they feel the need to pick out a single individual and create an entire story arc around him. It's ridiculous. Bruschi last week, Ward this week. Ray lewis, Michael Vick, Donovan McNabb, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Terrell Owens in past weeks. Whoever's the flavor of the month.
  14. "Winning on the road against a division rival with a team full of backups and Heath Evans as your featured back" != "gift"
  15. Holy crap! I didn't even realize that's what she was implying!
  16. So you're saying the Patriots would've won their Super Bowls by MORE points if the refs hadn't made bad calls?
  17. I watch whatever games I can. If the Pats are on TV (as they sometime are in my area), I am very happy. If not, I watch whatever's on while following the Pats via Gamecenter, game threads, and whatever internet radio feed I can get ahold of.
  18. Tell us more, AKC, about how three is greater than twenty-five.
  19. I hope they'll win the division, and not go down easily in the playoffs.
  20. If I had to guess, I'd say they'll win the division just because of the remaining schedule, but with that defense, they'll not go far in the playoffs. Hope I'm wrong, though.
  21. I knew someone with ties to the New E ngland area who got me interested in the team after the '92 season. Before that, I'd been a casual observer of football, but never really had a team to call my own, feeling connected to neither the Bills or the New Jersey teams. But the '93 season hooked me, and I've been a diehard since. It's tough sometimes, living out of the area with no dish, but the internet gametrackers have eased the pain a bit.
  22. I don't engage in infantile "If I prove you wrong, you must kiss my feet and declare me teh AWESOMENESS!!1!!1" bets. Some of us, you see, have matured emotionally past the embryonic stage. I, unlike you, am a fair and reasonable person. If I have one set of data, and someone else claims to have another, I will ask to see the other so that I can form a reasoned and logical conclusion. I don't desire to make bets about the data - I just want to see it, so that I may learn from it. Upon seeing your data, I learned that my original data was indeed correct, and that you have trouble reading passing splits. Or even a "scum!@#$." Right? And please, point out any posts that I've made that rub in the Bills troubles this year. And to save us the trouble, make sure that you don't use posts where I compliment the Bills as proof that I've done the exact opposite.
  23. Lovely. "Sorry for saying that, even though you led us to the Super Bowl last year, we'd be better off with an ancient INT machine. I've no idea why that possibly offended you." What an ass. I hope the Eagles tell him too little, too late.
  24. No problem. I made the same mistake too at first. Kinda tough to read. May this serve as a lesson to AKC, though, to not act like a pompous d-bag about something unless he's sure he's reading the stat sheet correctly. That 0 of 7 for McNabb is for '05. If you go back to '04, it shows that he was 9 of 25, which was...exactly what I said. The ESPN stats match up exactly with the CNN/SI stats that I'd been using, so I'll just keep using them, I guess.
