  1. How does Fitz's performance indicate Edwards' to be better? They are both backup-grade NFL quarterbacks. Let's see what Hamden can do. May as well. No, not saying he's the answer, either, but give the guy some playing time. This team is very bad. Jim Kelly in his prime could not himself step in and do anything with this bunch I don't think.
  2. It makes no difference now. There is nothing left to save. The offense just cannot produce. The injuries just keep mounting. It's been said that injuries are more likely to happen when you are NOT going 100% all out effort. Perhaps that is why Jauron's teams sustain injuries. Maybe it's not the camp cupcake training camps. Maybe they are just putting forth a half-hearted effort and are getting hurt because of it. Hard to say. They are really a bad team.
  3. I hear ya, the guy has looked great the past few games, but a few games does not make a pro-bowl season. Let's see if it is sustained. This is only recent. The ballot was probably prepared before he even went on his hot steak for all we know.
  4. Please stop it! I'm so tired of Bills fans always feeling like the Bills are being slighted. This team has not been in the playoffs for 10 years! What do you expect?! Winning games and making playoff appearances goes a long way toward Pro Bowl recognition of players. Quit whining. When the Bills make the playoffs and guys like Byrd are still being overlooked, THEN you might have a legitimate complaint, but this team have proven NOTHING so far, so do not expect any league-wide recognition. Be happy with the Defensive/rookie player of the month honors for Byrd.
  5. It is not enough to look at total "deep balls" per game. You'd have to look at what percentage of pass attempts were deep balls, how many running plays were there, etc. Just pulling out a single statistic like that is more anecdotal evidence and not really a valid comparison in-and-of-itself. Also, two games by Fitz is not enough to make it statistically valid. So many other things to consider -- weather for instance. Also, how many times was a ball thrown to a COVERED receiver with the bet being your guy is going to come down with it and how many times was ball thrown to only a wide open receiver? It'd be impossible to really break it all down -- at least not w/o a LOT of effort. Here's the stat I like -- Fitz 2-0
  6. "So, you're saying when I throw the red flag, I have to throw it somewhere so you can see it, eh?"
  7. I've got no problem with the players having some input and the coaches listening to that input. The coaches are only human beings. They may miss a detail or two and if the players can point something out, then I give the defensive coaching staff credit for listening.
  8. An Indians fan *and* a Bills fan -- talk about a double curse.
  9. The TV angle didn't show the real hit I don't think. It happened on the initial contact I think, but another player was in front of the camera, so the helmet-to-helmet got blocked from camera view. You could hear the helmet-to-helmet though when replayed. The twisting of the head and pushing him over backwards all happened AFTER the concussion hit. The real hit happened while Edwards was still on his feet.
  10. Go ___ yourself. Hey, you open up a post that says "I'm a Yankees fan" -- what d'ya expect!
  11. By himself, Roscoe is probably not good trade bait, but as part of some sort of multi-player package deal, seems like he would add value.
  12. Great comeback!!
  13. There are 11 guys on the field. The big guys up front are not going to stop each-and-every run. Occasionally, a running back is going to hit a hole and there ought to be linebackers and DB's moving up to make a tackle in those situations. I don't necessarily agree we have pro-bowl talent on the D-line, but I do think our defensive tackles are a couple of the better ones in the league and don't consider their positions a weak spot on the team (albeit for depth). Yes, we got gashed for some huge runs but where the hell were the linebackers and backs on those plays?
  14. We do, I think. However, when 60% of your picks (yes, I'm exaggerating, but you get the point) are DB's, then we OUGHT to be deep there.
  15. I agree. It was a DIVISION WIN on the road against a tough opponent. I honestly don't give a damn HOW they got the victory. They WON. End of story.
  16. screw that -- I want Jauron gone ASAP. I'm just saying when a team is losing, things have to be shaken up. Since RW isn't going to do anything about the coaching problem, then there has to be some shakeup in the leadership on the field. The Bills WON -- that's all I care about. Yes, the defense definitely won this game, but do you think maybe the defense had a bit more of a spark because they knew if they could get the offense the ball back that the QB just MIGHT toss it to the receivers? -- what a novel concept. Sure, Trent hit his WR's, too, before the injury, but again -- no 3rd down conversion. I'll take Ryan over Trent right now. I'm not saying Ryan is the savior, but the team needs some changes.
  17. They played tough to the end. Yes, I consider that a spark. It was a helluva lot better than the past 2 weeks. This was a strong division opponent. True, ugly win, but the team fought hard and FOUND A WAY TO WIN. How often can you say that lately?
  18. Zero 3rd down conversions is one reason to not be very excited about Trent's performance. Another is that the team just doesn't seem to believe in him to get it done. It seems the QB change kind of sparked the team. 5/5 for 43 yards is all well-and-good, but zero 3rd down conversions is not inspiring play.
  19. I liked what I saw in Fitzpatrick. True, he made a couple of bad decisions, but he was NOT tentative. He moved EXTREMELY WELL in the pocket to buy another second or two and ran well when he had to. It was refreshing to see a QB not checkdown nearly every down. Given that he probably got no reps in practice, you have to hand it to him to step in like he did and maintain his composure against a very strong defense. I like his demeanor on the field, also -- very focused. Not that I wish harm to Edwards, but I'm glad Fitzpatrick got this opportunity. I think he did a fine job under the circumstances. A big DIVISION WIN -- congratulations to Fitzpatrick and the entire team for a gutzy performance.
  20. Hey, maybe he's in town because Ralph is going to name him the Interim HC. LOL. Hey, why not? The guy always wanted to coach again anyhow. He never wanted to be a GM. This is not a serious post, but seriously, I would take ANYONE over Jauron right now to ride this season out.
  21. I like Holmgren, but I did not care for how he announced his exit from Seattle prior to the end of his last season. He kind of made himself a lame duck by doing so. Either you are into it or you are not -- there's no middle ground "I'm leaving at the end of the season". Just keep that to yourself and lead your team while you're the HC. I'd still take him immediately over Jauron.
  22. So, you're saying the glass is half-full, eh? I want to see Hamden play. I think he could be a real talent given the chance. Why not give him the chance now? What's to lose? The season is already a lost cause and Edwards clearly has regressed. Let Hamden have at it for a few weeks and see what happens. That would be fun to watch.
  23. The "Buffalo Syndrome" is trying to run a team w/o a real general manager. The "Buffalo Syndrome" is sending your proven GM with 6 playoff appearances in 8 seasons packing.
  24. I know at least ONE guy who is probably really hoping for a trade -- Mayor Byron Brown! Remember, the Key to the City was CONDITIONAL on 10 touchdowns AND a playoff appearance. The playoff appearance definitely is not happening the 10 touchdowns for this entire offense looks questionable let alone 10 from T.O. So, that puts Brown in the awkward position of asking T.O. to return the Key to the City. How unceremonious THAT would be!
  25. I agree. What this team lacks is leadership from the HC. There is no such thing as re-building in the NFL any longer. The goal at the onset of EVERY season should be the Super Bowl -- not the Super Bowl in 4 year or the playoffs in 2 years, blah, blah, blah. EVERY YEAR the goal should be to win the Super Bowl. It that's not the goal, then just forfeit and stay home. There *is* talent on this team, but there is no leadership.
