  1. Until the Bills have more Wins than Miami, Miami is the better team. It's all about the Win column -- it's the only stat that matters.
  2. At this rate, how many QBs will be floating around in free agency next season who know the Bills' playbook inside and out?!
  3. Why do you assume I think they'd take a QB with the top pick?! Never said Manning was done. Agree with you entirely about the talent around Manning. Didn't mean to insinuate they'd take a QB with my reference to Luck -- just talking top pick here, is all.
  4. I think the hit on the punter above the one of the kicker is even more brutal.
  5. I kind of envy the Giants right now and the Colts a couple of years ago in the Luck sweepstakes. At least these near-perennial playoff teams know how to tank it the right way and get the top pick of the draft. Mediocrity kills.
  6. If the playoffs started today, a 3-3 team would capture the final wild card spot. That means Buffalo is only 1 game out at this point (not withstanding tie-breakers). Too early to give up on this season. They could easily have a much better record. This team needs to learn to WIN and decide they will NOT walk off the field losers. They can be good enough to earn a wild card spot, but they have to understand no more moral victories -- that's just not good enough.
  7. I keep hearing he's a smart QB, but he's going to have a very short career in the NFL if he doesn't wise up and get out of bounds. Now, I realize he was trying to gain an important first down -- and he succeeded, but at what cost? He has to play smarter or he'll be an ex-NFL player in a couple of years.
  8. Yep, have to agree with everything you say. I also don't understand the posts saying "we're rebuilding anyhow". Makes no sense. It's not like Levitre is an old man yet. He's still got a lot of years in him probably. He's exactly the kind of guy I wouldn't want to let go during a "rebuild".
  9. +1 Too bad we let Andy Levitre walk. Oh yeah, good guards are cheap and easy to find and the position is not that important -- that's right -- silly me.
  10. They said on radio was a hamstring - edit - I thought I heard "ham" on radio -- "hand" -- my bad
  11. +1 I don't think anyone will be calling them "weak" when they hit double-digit victories around late November / early December.
  12. I think Who might be injured. However, What could be promising and I Don't Know could be a dark horse.
  13. So, if Nigel played for the Broncos, how would this have played out?
  14. Hmmm, seems we had a "name the defense" thread last season about this time (of which I'll admit I participated in, too). Like some others here say, let's win a few defensive battles before we go down this road. Obviously, this season does look a heckuva lot more promising than last season on the defensive side of the ball, but I'd still rather wait for the results, first.
  15. Yes, another good point! Thanks! Yes, only time will tell. Understand. Here's to a real front office!
  16. And it was a master stroke in so many ways. Not only did they simply add a few draft picks and still get their QB in round 1 (which all by itself is great), but then they turned around and used the 2nd round pick very well, it appears, in picking up Kiko Alonso. Also, by trading with the Rams, that took Tavon Austin off the board from the division-rival Jets, who desperately needed talent at the skill positions on offense and most certainly had Austin in their plans. And, if there were any Bills fans out there who might have liked to see Austin in a Bills uniform, it seems Buffalo got a comparable, if not better player (if early results are any indication), with Marquise Goodwin in the 3rd round (from same trade with the Rams). Maybe even Chris Gragg (7th rd. pick from Rams) will develop into a contributor one day. Time may prove this to be one of the best trades in team history.
  17. Marrone already hinted he's likely to keep 3 QBs -- no way Kolb is not on the roster, barring injury, come opening day.
  18. In his defense, he may have assumed it was an incomplete pass (which it should have been) and figured the play was dead. But, the guy needs to play hard until he hears a whistle blow. You are right - he will get an earful from the coaches, but I think it was more a matter of not recognizing it was ruled a fumble as opposed to just "giving up".
  19. Very well said - agree with every word.
  20. I also like from his college tape that when he does run to avoid sacks it is usually to make a throw from outside of the pocket instead of actually running. But, he certainly show run ability, too, in his college tape.
  21. If you sound-out EJ as if it was a word, it kind of sounds like "Edge" -- nice short name. However, I'm with those who say let him earn a nickname via his play first. Edit: Maybe not -- already been used by Edgerrin James, so not original
  22. Hey, I think that was me. And I recall you woke me up to the fact that the Buffalo Sabres initials don't work so well on a baseball cap!
