  1. Yard Dry - they should sell it at Valu or Home Depot. It is a bit expensive (about $60 for a 5 gallon bucket) but you sprinkle a little of the stuff around your yard and it sucks the water up. One bucket should drain 2-3 inches from a small (50' x 50') yard.
  2. Dean - well said. It really means nothing other than drudge wanted to toot his horn. this puts it all in perspective... http://siteanalytics.compete.com/drudgerep....com/?metric=uv
  3. I'm the biggest buffalo cheerleader you'll find but I agree.
  4. I have a few names that make a few bucks per day parking which adds up, but more of them are $0-$30 per year. There is a lot of competition for these names since they are effectively an annuity, so you probably won't be able to find any that aren't registered unless you can catch a fad or niche ahead of the curve (ie, mp3, hdtv etc) I'd recommend building a site about a hobby or something you really enjoy, and slowly building it up. I did that and it has worked out pretty well.
  5. grapple really is a misnomer - makes you think it is going to taste more like a grape. they need a new name with less influence from the word grape. gapple? sounds too dirty.
  6. If you are willing to learn young grasshopper, I am willing to teach. (seriously). I pay $8 per year for my names, so my renewals are around $4,000. I "park" the names that don't have websites and earn almost enough to pay for the renewals. (parking is those annoying one page sites full of advertising links). Building out my websites themselves is where I make most of my money, though selling the actual names can work out well too. Pretty much all of the good names are taken so you'll either need to find an undiscovered niche or buy names from someone and resell or develop. here is a chart of the sales from last week alone: http://dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm
  7. they don't allow you to FTP, or is it the nameservers that are slow?
  8. KD, just because people aren't smart enough to read a mortgage doesn't mean they should have to suffer the consequences. geez.
  9. funny, and true. Dan, if you need any help setting up your site let me know and I'll point you in the right direction. There are some very easy to use tools out there to help out.
  10. most of them are part of a theme of my websites that i run (ie, defensively owned). I have sold probably 10 names over the years, but for the most part i'm buying more than I'm selling since good names are going up in value quickly. There is a whole industry around buying and selling names, pretty interesting actually.
  11. buy it now. as in leave twobillsdrive and pay your $9 at godaddy before you post again.
  12. i told my company in 1997 to buy dimmers.com, which today would probably be worth $100k. I bought a bunch of names back then, but unfortunately didn't buy up every generic .com name i could...
  13. I have 500 domains, want to buy one? GoDaddy is pretty good, though I use moniker.com for most of my names. DO NOT use network solutions, or even search for the name with them. Once you search a name, they "reserve it" for 3 days which means you have to buy it from them or nobody for the next 72 hours. stick with .com even if what you want is taken, .net / .us are a big step down credibility-wise. probably not, since you would be registering it in bad faith though you might have an out because you weren't trying to profit from it. I wouldn't go near it with a ten foot pole.
  14. this is the funniest post in a while on so many levels.
  15. i knew
  16. what about pittsnogle? He had a great wedding get up... http://www.bevosports.com/2006/03/23/kevin...snazzy-dresser/
  17. with the big difference being how much house you can get for the money. when you compare things you still get a lot more in Buffalo, but it isn't what it first seems and when you factor in salary for the area etc. it isn't as attractive as it initially sounds....
  18. Unfortunately not. It is assessed (for now) at $350, as if that makes it any better.
  19. the only "what not" is property taxes. I don't have buffalo specifics, but have a friend in the central part of the state that pays $10k on a $295k house.
  20. you can also get cats that are bred to look like tigers or cheetahs: http://www.summersidebengals.com/photos.html http://www.cheetahsden.org/cats.htm
  21. In hoboken, nj you get 1,000 square feet, 2BR condos built within the last 5 years for around $600k+...boggles my mind.
  22. if so, let me know - i have a few things I will be trying to push up the ladder in the next week or so and would appreciate some help....
  23. yup. He, Tom Cruise, Jessica Simpson and Shaq are building a compound on lebrun.
  24. what are taxes on a $200,000 house in wny?
  25. the funny part was that is was only 8 inches - any car should be able to drive through it. So as all the honda civics are flying through, his $50,000 car stalls and gets ruined...
