that is a great story. I found an ATM receipt last week of someone who took out $20, had a balance of $2 afterwards and paid $3 for the transaction. Nothing like paying 12% of your net worth to take your cash out!

a reward has nothing to do with honesty, that's why there is $ invloved. Nobody said anything about the bag lady doing the right thing, she's just a bag lady getting by. it sounds to me like you are arguing the merits of a reward in general. that is a completely different topic. that happens a lot, but i doubt the cons go to the extent of wandering around with shopping carts all day.

I can guarantee you if i was in that position I would go find the lady and give her some more money. Is she "owed" the money? No. Would it be the right thing to do to give her more than $80? I think so.

I went in 99 or so, was on the infield and it was a great time. Not nearly as wild as preakness (you can't bring in your own booze,have to buy it) but there was still a little bit of wildness to it. Just as good as the derby is the atmosphere in the city. The city has a great vibe on Thurs-Fri-Saturday night, bars are packed, people having fun. Definitely go if you can. (don't think infield tickets are that hard to come by)

Olivier gave a nice explanation. It gets pretty confusing. In America we call a wine by the grape (Merlot, Cabernet etc) while in Europe they call it by where it was grown. So saying you drank a "Bordeaux" is somewhat similar to saying you drank a Napa wine. Now, most regions specialize in a particular grape so you can frequently guess what you are drinking. Beaujolais is almost all the same grape so that one is pretty straightforward.

I hate the cable companies but have to stick up for them here. It is their right to show the station to their consumers in the format they please, the NFL is trying to force them into this and give them access to a ton of eyeballs to sell their product and their advertising to. CNN charges $5 per year, the NFL wants to charge $8.40 The cable companies have decided that they will lose subscribers if they don't offer ESPN, so they pay it. It is their right, and their decision. And i think the price is closer to $2.

I think this exact thread started by someone else got lost on DDay last month....if anyone wants to retype their thoughts that would be great. Thinking about going in May with the wife. Any specific suggestions? Is San Juan the place to stay? I'm a little worried about staying there because it seems a little too city-like, and I'd prefer a more caribbean style vacation (I know PR isn't the best for that, but still). any thoughts on where to stay (area or specific hotel) would be great.
