TNF Commanders - Packers (No Bills Discussion)
notpolian replied to Low Positive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Miller is #24. Whole lotta standing around so far in my biased view. -
Ed Oliver in walking boot..per Matt Parrino

The one impact player on last week's porous defense injured during practice? Makes sense. -

Bills 24 Jets 20 -
Nearly three days after that instant classic I have further thoughts…
notpolian replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Do the 2 point plays have their own thread yet? Bad calls IMO. I don't see why we don't have some triple option type plays. Really stress the defense with a TE in the end zone, Allen rolling out, and a possibility of a pitch to a RB on the outside. Use some imaginative plays for high leverage all or nothing situations. -
As tough as the Ravens game was, it might be a good prep for the Jets. Fields is a good runner but not quite Jackson, Hall and Allen are good but not Henry level. Their OL ain't the Ravens IMO. If the Bills defense can get the Jets to 3rd and long and then not surrender long runs by Fields, we should be ok. I think our offense will be fine against almost any team, including the Jets.

Tyler Dunne's piece on Caleb Williams is DAMNING
notpolian replied to estro613's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree that the way Dunne uses and presents anonymous sources is not conducive to a balanced piece. It ends up looking like a hit piece for those that want to see it that way. However if a significant portion of what is reported is true, wow. Just the possibility that Williams is dyslexic and the 2024 coaches didn't know about it is incredible. A lot of elite athletes have that condition. I'd imagine it would affect a QB more than maybe any other position in sports? I think they have a very promising coaching situation in Chicago now. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out over the next year or so. Still would be tough to be a Bears fan today. -
Contain their run game. Get a lead. Make Fields pass downfield. Keep the eye on the ball. Seldom easy in NJ.

I feel much more calm when Prater is kicking than when Bass is fwiw. Sign him to the 53 and let Bass stay on IR.

I don't like such heavy DL rotation this early in the first game. Keep your best players in there. Too early to be tired. -

Allen checked into a run on 2nd down then the OL got blown up on 3rd down. Short passes would be nice. -

Lots of base defense with Strong at CB. Interesting. -
Week 1, Nevermores v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!
notpolian replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Last year the Ravens smacked the Bills early, then the Bills defense played well in the playoffs and Buffalo was helped out by Ravens mistakes. Bills offensive personnel are essentially identical to last year. Ravens same afaik. Henry will be fresh and rested. Bills DL might be improved, LBs healthy, DBs possibly a mess. Ravens defense slightly improved. First game of the season is often an outlier and can be sloppy. Ravens have had to hear about their playoffs failure all offseason. Bills with the Hard Knocks hangover. Ravens 31 Bills 13 I hope I'm totally wrong. -
Parsons traded to Green Bay, given $188 million contract
notpolian replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I assume almost no way Bills could have freed up the coin for that contract. Dumb move by the Cowboys. You don't trade a difference maker edge rusher in their prime for any compensation, let alone that. Jerrah is far from top of his game, that's for sure. -
Honestly I'd be ok with Gabe Davis as a WR4-6. He could be a good fit for this offense. My major issue with him was it seemed a few times a year near the goal line he and Allen wouldn't be on the same page with a hot route on a blitz or where they wouldn't make the same read. I was disappointed they didn't re-sign Mack Hollins this offseason.

Maxwell Hairston named in civil lawsuit for sexual assault
notpolian replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. As the father of two daughters, you got to work hard to make sure they stay out of any questionable situation. Then kick them in the nuts really hard and run if it comes to that. Yet another dose of due diligence at OBD. -
“They Sure Were Exciting” the story of the 1975 Buffalo Bills
notpolian replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
That was also the preseason when Robert James tore his knee up. I was at that game, yikes. That defense was not good but the offense was great. -
Bills 2nd Rnd pick in 2025 Draft : TJ Sanders - DT South Carolina
notpolian replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
This guy could be good, but this is a reflection of McDermotts defensive philosophy. Smaller mobile DTs. Teams can run you over. -

Except Collins just got drafted -
No, in fact I thought the ideal playoff was the previous 2 wildcards with two first round byes. Season is too long as it is and the 7 seed adds little to nothing.

Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)
notpolian replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe different reactions to this are greatly affected by what you assume the Bills will do in the early rounds. I'm assuming 1T/DL in round 1, then maybe CB. That didn't change at all with this signing. So.im fine with this as White being good depth or a stopgap starter. Imo, our main issue is stopping the run. Hence the DL. I would also like us to play tighter man coverage, but I don't think that'll ever happen with McDermott. -
Return of the Tre! (Tre White signs with the Bills)
notpolian replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
The positive thing about Tre White is he knows exactly what to do (scheme, position) and has good ball skills. It's just a question of what his lower body is still capable of. With the right contract structure this is a really good move IMO.
