Supposedly Jason Witten is going to be hired to coach in some capacity under whoever is the next head coach. The thought is he will be groomed to take over in the future. He has zero coaching experience. He has spent the past two years coaching his kids at private rich kids school. They have won a bunch of games. This is like a step lower then when they hired Garrett as the OC before they hired Wade Phillips as the head coach in 07. At least Garrett was a qb coach with nick saban in Miami for like two years. This is some absurd stuff. guys work 10 or 20 years to get into the league as coaches and get opportunities. it also sounds like according to Bryan Broaddus that john gruden is in play because he will work on an incentive contract because he needs to rehab his image. Jones and Gruden deserve each other.

Listening to some beat reporters here and it sounds like McCarthy had enough of jerrys negotiating. He wanted McCarthy to take an incentive laden contract. The Jones's are old school southern business men who think people that work for them are not worth anything. So apparently McCarthy said he was not interested this morning and apparently it caught the jones's by surprise. I think they thought McCarthy would stay no matter what because his daughters love their schools and they are not finished with high school yet. there is also some chatter that McCarthy was not thrilled with Prescott and Jerry and Stephen will not listen to criticism of Dak so there was another issue.

They are already linking Kellen Moore, Kliff Kingsbury, Deion and John Gruden to the Cowboys job.

He feels like a perfect fit for chicago. He will bring Brian Schottenheimer and Bones fassell with him and then hire a DC. The saints job is awful. They are way over the cap, have no qb and a bad roster. McCarthy will bring the stability the Bears need. Everyone will hate it in chicago.

This is why they stayed two deep and basically dared allen to throw the ball, just like last years game. another interesting quote. “Cook is a super, super patient runner and they run these gap schemes, and they kept changing the gaps,” Locke said. “He was setting up his blocks and just being super patient. We have to be more disciplined keeping our gaps as they’re moving.”

Feels like washington and tampa play all the time in the playoffs. Was it 98 or 99 when Brad Johnson dropped the hold on the field goal and then Tampa won?

I just read the 2 seed is now 11-1 in the 6 years of the expanded playoffs. Kind of feels like they should not have 14 teams and go back to the 12 teams and the first two seeds getting byes.

Xavier McKinney must be wondering what it takes to beat the eagles. He lost like a million times in a row to them as a giant. He won in week 1 but no one cares about that now. Got to be frustrating.

if the eagles play offense like this the Lions starters will be wearing baseball hats and watching the backups in the 4th quarter in a blow out. The packers had the physical size and ability to stand in there though with the eagles offensive line and deliver blows in a fist fight. I am not sure how well the rams/vikings/Lions will do in that respect. Just like the Bills Ravens game, if you can't handle the physical element early you have no chance.

I do not like the packers organization and never have. They should not have even won the ice bowl. If you watch the winning play they had a false start. Just can't stand them. The 90's Packers were just the worst and I still can't stand them.

the packers last year with a less talented group went to Dallas as the 7 seed and absolutely torched Dallas. This year they look confused and slow or something. Really bad game on offense from the packers.

I think Buck and Aikman are the worst. They are so arrogant and aloof and act like they are not really interested in the game. and my real gripe with them is they miss everything. There is stuff happening all the time and they are always chatting about nonsense and inside jokes. If Aikman and Buck called the 1989 world series they would miss the earthquake.

Terry bradshaw just recapped the bills game during halftime. I am not sure anyone on the panel had ever heard of Ty Johnson and I would bet half of them are not sure who james cook is.

this game kind of feels like the chargers game. The Chargers had a chance to bury houston in the first half and didn't. Philly must be feeling the same way. This game could swing on one play like the texans game did when they didn't called for grounding then the fumbled snap turned into a huge play. going to be some tight butts in the philly seats in the second half.
