Training camp day 3 st john fisher college
MikePJ76 replied to scuba guy's topic in The Stadium Wall
If he does win the job and Hairston is standing on the sideline I am going to be even more aggravated they didn’t take Donovan ezeiraku. they could hav traded back a little and taken him and added another pick somewhere. The number 1 thing the bills need to improve is hitting the quarterback. Not sure how ezeiraku will hold up vs the run but they are raving about his abilities as a pass rusher in Dallas. -

I’m Leroy from Rochester -
I don’t really care about Elam. I imagine he will be a decent backup when their guys get healthy. I am more interested in Donovan Ezeiraku. I think I still prefer him to Hairston. They can’t stop raving about how good he has been this spring and now 3 practices in. I really hope he doesn’t turn out to be a consistent double digit sack guy.

I will never understand the hate here for her. I mean I get it, it doesn’t take long to learn the temperature of this place but even then the hate for her is ridiculous.

ESPN acquiring the NFL Network and the NFL Redzone

Will red zone still be a part of Sunday ticket? -
Spencer brown having a lingering back issue is not great. Hopefully it’s just time and rest that he needs.

But you can make the case the risk he took in free agency on defense already has failed him because of the suspensions. Add in two of the other guys have repeated injury issues in bosa and foster. obunjobi to me is a really bad signing. He doesn’t really have a position and the Steelers dumped him because he was bad against the run. The Bills signing him and saying he is a tech who can play the run seems like blue skying the situation. I understand he was a signing as insurance in case they didn’t get what they wanted in the draft. I understand that viewpoint completely but he just seems like a real head scratcher of a signing. and bosa, he had more Offside penalties than sacks and played with a good pass rusher on the other side of him who demanded attention. I don’t like anything about the guy personally but everything about him screams declining player with major injury concerns. I am hoping for the best but I am fully expecting some real defensive issues this year. Doesn’t mean we won’t win because I love the offense, everything about it. I just think the defense is going to have some issues this year that we have not had in recent years.

Not dramatic at all. It’s just my humble opinion. The defensive free agents are all guys with no singular position, old and declining, high injury guys who miss a lot of time and suspended. it was a really lousy offseason and the draft fixed some of that and created a situation where the free agents will be asked to be role players which is about the max they can be anyway. Except bosa, he offers upper end talent but he has not displayed it in a long time, he is basically miller of last year if he can stay healthy. having said that, if Jackson ends up an injured guy with a finicky neck issue, Hairston has some sort of hold up because of legal issues outside football and walker’s back is not right and this is a red shirt year for him….well this will have been a disaster of an offseason and the defense and the team will pay the price for it. if Hairston is in the clear and Jackson is healthy and misses no time along with walker then this will be an excellent draft rendering my concern a moot point. the vibes with all of these guys has been iffy at best sans sanders, Hancock and strong imo. this team will go as far as the defense allows them and since they spent an offseason putting all their resources into the defense we are all hoping it works out as planned.

To me the only player who has “Star” potential is James Cook. I don’t think anyone else has the abilities or traits to be what is considered a star in the league. Spencer brown and Groot have the talent it seems but it’s tough for a right tackle to be star and Groot if he was going to be a star would be one by now.

I don’t put much stock into the bills can’t win a road playoff game thing. last years team was equipped to beat KC but the defense, same guys as the year before essentially were hurt again and they just can’t win with injuries to a defense that is just ok. playoff success is in direct correlation to the defense. Hopefully this year the defense will be healthy in the postseason season. At least this way they could go down swinging.

Definitely should be the goal. I feel like the ravens are going to be the 1 seed. Their defense seems setup to create a situation where the offense might only have to score 17 or 20 points to win. The 1 seed is the crown jewel but the chiefs have already shown they can win on the road in the toughest settings, Buffalo and Baltimore. if you could promise me the Bills have a healthy defense today I wouldn’t care if they are the 7 seed. I guess the flip side of that is the 1 seed would give you the week or maybe two weeks depending on week 18 to get guys healthy and ready. its all about the bills defense to me. I am not a fan of the free agents and we now have question marks with two of the draft picks we expected to play a lot and start. my early thoughts on the season are the ravens will be the 1 seed on the backs of their defense, mahomes will be the mvp on a chiefs offense that is on mission to being more explosive and the bills will be the 3 seed after a tough season where too many expectations have been put on them already. but to your point the 1 seed can fix a lot of issues in the postseason. Getting a week or two of rest before the game and only having to beat a wild card team or whoever wins the south and then the chiefs or ravens at home would be the ideal route.

It can always be worse!

If Jackson ends up a hurt guy who misses a lot of camp and is not reliable coupled with whatever is going to happen to Hairston. This will go down as one of the worst off seasons of beanes time here. if the draft picks are not on the field helping and succeeding this defense is in big trouble.
-
It won’t matter how many games he is suspended for. He will be on the team in the playoffs and that’s all that matters for the chiefs. there is no back door way to beating them in the playoffs. the bills need a healthy defense that can win on the line of scrimmage in the playoffs vs KC. They won’t beat them until they have it.

Bengals 1st RD Pick could go back to College?
MikePJ76 replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sir that is impossible. 40 years ago was 1955 and you can’t tell me any different. -
Yep. i went to a rangers yankees game at the rangers awful new stadium and the seats made me feel like i was falling forward. I absolutely hated it. Couple that with the roof and air conditioning and it’s one of the worst stadiums I have ever watched a baseball game in. if you don’t like heights or that sensation of being above the next seat you won’t like the seats. I probably will never go to a game. going to see the stadium next week and run into the pro shop though and I can’t wait

NFL players union is weak because the players are in it for themselves . They have never had a strong union for this exact reason. they don’t have the stomach for the fight like Major League Baseball players did. i remember Joe Montana, Lawrence Taylor, Randy white etc…crossing the picket line in 82 and 87. You will never have a strong union if the stars who have been paid don’t care about the rest of the guys. most of the players see the world through the eyes of the owners. Pure individual greed.

I think he is going to be the MVP this year unfortunately. i hope he decides to retire and spend all his time watching the royals lose but I don’t think that’s going to happen.

I like it better when the bills are under rated in all of these time filling exercises. I loved last year so much because the bills spent the offseason being told all the stuff they couldn’t do. that kind of motivation always works with modern athletes.

Maxwell Hairston named in civil lawsuit for sexual assault
MikePJ76 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
He was on his school visit in March. I believe he was 17 and had graduated high school early. At least that is what I remember from the victims story. When she tried to bring charges against him she didn’t even know he was a football player and not even a student yet. The school squashed it and then she saw him on the football team in the fall and felt betrayed by the university. -
Maxwell Hairston named in civil lawsuit for sexual assault

I’ve said my peace on this during the draft weekend. everyone got mad at me for what I said then So I won’t go into it anymore but I will state that this is just another bad move in an offseason filled with them from Brandon beane. also, I believe in the victims social media posts from the time period of this happening she said other girls came forward to her that he did the same to them. If that ends up being true and the team knew this potential risk, why on earth was he drafted? When you take players like this in the first round when you had other options that is on the GM. If Donovan Ezeriaku is as good as the DFW media has been saying he has looked and Hairston washes out because of off the field stuff…I mean these are why GM’s get fired. but again oh well, as fans we have to sit back and wait for the conclusion to this. I know I am more than tired of hearing guys like McDermott talk about his imaginary friend every time he opens his mouth but then is perfectly okay with Von miller beating up his girlfriend. hopefully Hairston did not rape this young woman or anyone else and if he did he should be off the roster ten minutes after finding out. I am trying to not get too involved in this thread but why on earth would the schools findings be of any concern. not a single one of these big athletic schools should ever be trusted on any of these matters. For decades schools have been intimidating witnesses, threatening victims, hiding evidence and colluding with local police and judges. go watch the Ohio state documentary on hbo and get back to me on how much the school cares about these types of issues.
