  1. Crazy money for this guy. He is a strong side end who is just pretty good at playing the run and pretty good at rushing the passer. He was known in Dallas as Jerry's Pet Cat.
  2. It would be nice if most of these big names sign in the nfc. The last thing we need is the afc to keep getting better. Barkley to the eagles would be great although its pretty much a dick move to sign with your teams rival.
  3. They are all pointless until the day before the draft. Those final mock drafts are the only one's that matter because those are usually sourced from organizations and the most accurate. Rick Gosselin's day of the draft final mock used to be the gold standard because it was created from info he got from all the teams. There are lots of people putting out guides, magazines 50 mocks but they are all pointless essentially. I used to read them all, from ourlads to the sporting news and everything in between. I have come to realize they are all worthless. I won't even read a thing about the draft until the day of and I guess it will be Dane Brugler at this point because he will have more evaluations than most even though they are essentially worthless evaluations.
  4. I can't imagine the team is really involved in any expensive free agents. They have a glaring need with a giant blinking red light on the defensive line and those can not be all filled in the draft. They basically have to sign a minimum of 2 free agents on the defensive line...tackle or end...they just have to. I would personally like to see them add another center/guard to the roster. I really hate the idea of mcgovern at center. Although safety also has a big red light flashing I bet they are not active there until after the draft. I would like them personally to commit to the running game even more and bring in a legitimate every down back to go with Cook. Not a yin and yang thing an every down back. They set the blueprint to build a top end running game last year and this year I hope they keep building on it. and finally of course it seems a mid level WR will be added also. Adding a wr now frees them up in the first round to take the best player that falls into their lap (which is what you should always do in the first 2 rounds) and will not force them to feel the need to move up for a wr. I am in love with the idea of Saquan Barkley in this office I just think he would create the most incredible mismatches. Those running plays where cook popped out of a hole last year and then it ended up being an 8 to 10 yard run might turn into 50 or 60 yard runs with Barkley's ability. I know there is no money for him and no chance of it happening but god he is perfect for this offense. A lineup with diggs, kincaid, shakir and barkley coupled with Allen would be a real stress to every defense. Barkley could take those dump offs, wheel routes and screens to the house from anywhere. Shakir and kincaid will demand coverage in the middle of the field and this would create all kinds of options for Diggs and whoever the new x wr is. anyway. Feels like free agency must result in at least 2 to 3 defensive lineman.
  5. Expensive player who seems to just be average. Denver will probably replace him with Michael Thomas if the money works.
  6. Next year they are going to demand to play on only fields made of marshmallows. should keep the turf injuries down probably a sticky situation though.
  7. I'm pretty sure he came over from the other side with Furio and slapped around that low rent massage parlor owner Dominic and that schifosa wife of his.
  8. No, he does not fit in at all. He seems to be the opposite of what the team will be looking for when signing some mid level free agents. It seems he really wants to stay in Dallas also.
  9. I am worried about disrupting the progress of the running game. They finally built it and now center-left guard is going to be a concern until the games start and we see them succeed. They have to sign a veteran DE and DT in free agency they have no choice. I would like them to sign espenesa and daquan jones back even though jones is old and the team has made an effort here to get younger but he may come back on a team friendly deal.
  10. no need to apologize or whatever. This thread is crazy.
  11. I umm understood it very clearly. Haley was an unstoppable force and a certified lunatic. His going to Dallas that training camp was bad for everyone. It wasn't haley alone though as people try to make it seem. They had tremendous linebackers and the secondary was completely remade with great players. It was still a trade however. That defense got better all over in 92. And again to your point about why Dallas lost to the lions in 91, it was more of a matchup issue and location issue...not to mention Troy Aikman did not start though healthy after Steve Burlein played so well over the last half of the year and helped them beat the bears in soldier field the previous week in the wild card round. Dallas had already lost at detroit earlier in the year. Their secondary was not up to that challenge. The lions were unbeatable at home in 91 and I think they were like undefeated in domes or on turf? Something like that. I believe they were among the best in protecting the quarterback that season having given up what appears to be 25 sacks that year which is impressive for a team that played a base set with 4 wr in 1991.
  12. I think if he asks them to send this years money via paypal and mark it as a GIFT it wont count. I got this info from a backwards hat guy with a youtube channel who watches film.
  13. i imagine this is the case FWIW Dallas center Tyler Biadasz is a free agent and it seems Dallas is in the same boat with him as they were with mcgovern last year and connor williams the year before. So maybe the bills end up interested in him for a mid level deal with small cap numbers the first few years. I have to think they have at least one more guy in camp who is a real center and not just anderson and mcgovern. I know this, the bills ran left a hell of a lot in clutch situations last year and if moving mcgovern upsets the running game which was the strength last year...then what?
  14. IMO if they succeed in rebuilding the defensive line they are still as much of a threat to win a championship in 24 as in any other time. I don't think anything that has happened has changed that especially since they may make some mid level signings after the draft that turn out to be better than imagined like Floyd.
  15. sure also just normal team building. The league and the cap leave little room for old and declining players who make considerable amounts of money. I imagine the front office had this mapped out as they gave out the contracts with a few scenarios being different. Releasing/trading Diggs, dawkins, milano etc....would seem like a time to say rebuild. Most of these players sans the two starting safeties can be replaced on some level via the draft or mid level free agency after the draft. A lot of leadership and intelligence has left the locker room along with their cap numbers however and its nearly impossible to know how or when you can replace those qualities in players. Von Miller needs to be dealt with imo, there is no point in his being on the roster except for the cap ramifications.
  16. seems like they will just restructure Allen and be all set now. I imagine most of their free agent work is going to be done post camp and post mini camp.
  17. this is concerning to me. Everybody evaluates differently but Dallas repeatedly tried to make McGovern a more versatile player by giving him reps and time at center in the spring and camp. They concluded he can not play center. I feel like they just weakened the strength of the team.
  18. and he is wrong. White didn't put them over the top to win a championship in the way that Tom Brady-Gronk did in one year or to a lesser extent Deion Sanders did. In Fact Reggie white was not enough to put them over the top so much that over the next 3 off seasons they had to sign Sean Jones, Guy Mcintyre, Steve McMichael, Fred Strickland, Mark Ingram, Keith Jackson, Don Beebe, Desmond Howard, Eugene Robinson, Santana Dotson..... and even then along with all the draft picks they needed Dallas and SF to fall apart the same year so they didn't have to play them to get to the super bowl. Reggie White helped them get to the playoffs but he damn sure didn't get them to the super bowl as the missing piece, again the premise of the thread even with the original poster including errors in his post attaching white and brees to that.
  19. Its the whole premise of the thread. A free agent who immediately puts the team over the top. I am sorry your reading comprehension is poor. I can't help with you that. your response about Allen is the equivalent of me asking you what 1+1 is and you say purple, then get mad when I point out purple is not a number.
  20. Buffalo plus talked about this the other day and said he could be released and resigned in the summer
  21. Curious why on Brown? He is always hurt or playing through an injury. He is an exceptional blocker though in the running game. it would be a real tough sell to give precious free agent money to an always something guy when it comes to injuries
  22. he was on pace for a hall of fame career until his car accident. He was never the same again after that. This post makes zero sense in response to what I posted and to the topic of the thread.
