I was going to start a Shield thread this morning. Last night's episode was unreal. I'm basically to the point where I want the strike team to get away with it too. Lem and Ronnie never did anything I had a huge problem with, though Shane and Vic probably need to pay for murdering Terry. Last night's episode was definitely meant to make us hate Kavanaugh - arresting Lem a couple hours after he saved his life. Now that we, the audience, hate him the producers have cleared the way for Vic to do basically anything to him and us to not have a problem with it. Can't wait to see how things pan out over the next few episodes.

I don't know how, but just thinking about that made me sterile.

Seriously, no. Maureen Dowd has the least insight of anyone who has ever written an opinion piece for a newspaper. And this includes high school newspapers. Most of the columns from her that I've read break down into "______ is creepy and old" and "Why don't men like me?"

They're sort of saying the same thing. Basically our helmets right now are among the worst "all time" because they're a bastardized version of the classic helmets we had prior to 2002. If the Yankees added silver and red to an alternate cap for 2006, it'd be one of the worst baseball hats ever worn because it would be such a crappy, unnecessary marketing scheme. The Texans helmets (and uniforms) are pretty bad only because they're so bland. Their logo is basically the Texas Longhorns logo mixed with the current Patriots logo (which is also ugly).

Another stupid thing about 24 this year is that they keep showing Fox News (or "CTN" AKA CNN) still talking about this treaty the current Prez and the Russians signed....when Palmer was assassinated like 6 hours ago. It would take the greatest treaty in the history of the USA to bump a presidential assassination to the second most talked about story that day. Also, there's probably a zero in ten chance they'll ever explain how Palmer knew anything about the terrorists that day and why he hid the info in his memiors. Whatever, I only watch this show anymore so I can see Jack teleport around Los Angeles all day killing people.

Which is still, basically, the crux of every argument against it. And when that doesn't work they go to the "Why didn't we use all 45 days????" argument that KRC just mentioned - as if to say there's no way the government reviewed this correctly unless they used the maximum amount of time. Either way, as long as we can keep those camel jockeys out of our country.....

I'm a little skeptical about a "statement" from the President effectively delivering a message to the people in Iraq. People in the US don't even hear about these statements. A major press conference about the incident might work but a statement won't. And Dumbass Scott McClellan (yay, Longhorns) sure won't. Oh well.

I think it's remarkable just how bad that inability is hurting the country's image. I could see this kind of crap happening if this were their first year in the WH but this is Year Six. Get with the program, people.
