  1. Yeah right. You can vote without actually voting for a Presidential candidate. When you're in the booth, there are plenty of positions to vote for. "None of the above" *is* an option. But 100 million of us couldn't even be bothered to say that. If they had, they'd have at least sent a message that there are 100 million voters out there waiting for someone to appeal to them. Again, they did not. They didn't do anything. If 100 million voters had declined to select a Presidential candidate, maybe there'd be a shred of weight to your argument.
  2. No, that last 100 million *didn't* vote. If they all had voted for neither Bush nor Kerry, the election would've been a lot different. But they didn't. You don't fit into the mandate equation if you don't vote.
  3. .....doesn't even come close to the problems in the Muslim world.
  4. Realist. But I didn't like the answers much. It was pretty clear which ones were the "realist" answers and which ones were the "neocon" answers, etc.
  5. So did they actually pay this guy to write this garbage? I mean, you knew it was coming, just like the race card has to be brought up by somebody every time a black athlete is involved in something (Kobe, the USA Men's Basketball team being jeered by Americans, etc.) - but COME ON! *sigh* I think the real source of the outrage was that MNF was showing soft core porn at 6pm on the West Coast. And MNF is a show that fathers watch with their sons so the whole thing was just inappropriate. ABC found the wrong place to promote their show (wrong audience to advertise to, also) and the wrong time. That's it. This isn't about the subconscious of Americans (which sportswriters somehow have special insight into in these situations).
  6. From the BBC: "French Insurgents" Killed French Insurgents.....whatever that means.....
  7. Put a flat panel screen on the door of the microwave. They're already doing that with refrigerators (saw it at Best Buy a couple months ago).
  8. "mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......Sacrilicious!" - Homer J. Simpson
  9. Finally saw it and it's not half as bad as I imagined. It seemed like the Marine in question did it because he felt threatened, not because he wanted to kill someone. If you see how they move on to the next guy, and especially how the Marine takes a couple steps back when the injured Iraqi reaches for him, it's clear they recognize the injured and 'dead' Iraqis as a threat and for good reason.
  10. This is going to sound horrible but.....hopefully. I'm almost afraid to know what they may have done before they shot her in the head.
  11. As Chris Rock would say: "There's sexual harassment....and there's 'just tryin' to get laid.'" Pimp Daddy O'Reilly was doing the latter.
  12. Supposedly that's one of the things they have been doing - acting dead or wounded until Marines are close enough that they can do some damage. Haven't seen the video. Sounds pretty bad, though. Where are all the stories about how bad things were for the 8 months that the 'insurgents' (insurgents from Syria, that is) were in command of Fallujah? No one cares about that? It's only about 1000x worse than this one incident. There are no more rules for these terrorists - and I doubt I'd take any chances with them either.
  13. Damn, O'Reilly is a PIMP! Holla!
  14. Let's try anyway.
  15. Decent first drive but Drew threw to the wrong guy on that 3rd down. That receiver didn't have a chance to get the first.
  16. 29:54 Two challenges per half, right?
  17. Wow, what an incredible load of BS. And only 6 seconds into the game.....
  18. Face it, guys, the Bills are definitely leaving Buffalo. There's no use complaining about it because I honestly think they've already left. After all, they do have a game at New England tomorrow.
  19. The 'lawyer' part is a great way of putting it. My mom recently retired from teaching and all she'd ever experienced in her last few years was parents who could blame everyone but their children when they got in trouble (for failing, for no doing homework, for fighting, etc.). In their view, it was usually the teacher's fault when students acted out.
  20. It's tougher than you think. And since you won't take that as permission anyway, could you just give me that priest's email address when you do find him so I can have permission?
  21. Couldn't agree more.
  22. ABC's affiliate in Austin declined to show SPR last night started at 7pm local time. The station manager went on saying she tried to get the network to let them broadcast the film at 9pm but that request was refused. So, instead, they showed an Oprah re-run at 7 followed by Lethal Weapon 4 (!) at 8pm. This has nothing to do with the FCC, just people having no idea what is and isn't appropriate for Veteran's Day. Saving Private Ryan on Vet's Day at 7pm: Bad. Lethal Weapon 4 at 8pm: Good. Morons.
  23. You can't be serious. You don't think it'd be in his best interest to cover up a near-riot on his campus (if that is what happened)? What did you think he would say on the matter? That is *was* a big deal? Academia is thoroughly infested with dirtbags.
  24. They revealed it two weeks ago when they did the episode with her backstory. She learned it secretly because she was planning on ditching her husband by faking a kidnapping and starting her life over. Last night's episode was great but Locke's episode was amazing and is still the best. That twist in the last 2 minutes came out of nowhere and added so much to the other episodes. I forgot TV could be that good.
  25. No one stays young and most don't stay stupid. At least not "Michael Moore" stupid.
