( OT ) WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS WORLD?
SilverNRed replied to Talonz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. She should spend the rest of her life in prison. 2. The family of those boys should sue her for everything she owns, and a little more for good measure. She tried to wipe out a family. !@#$ her. -
I was the exact same way. LOVED the first episode but thought the show had completely fallen apart by the middle of the first season. None of the main characters even gave a rat's ass when the one guy actually died in a fire, so why bother with that episode? The show was just all over the map and they didn't take their time to build up any long storylines like The Shield. The Shield returns in April with Glenn Close playing the new captain of the Barn. It's the best show on TV so it should rock (again).

Wouldn't Bledsoe playing well motivate Losman? When Bledsoe was sucking consistantly, Losman knew he was going to get a chance to play quite a bit. If Bledsoe can step it up and the team can win, Losman will have to work extra hard and really be able to prove he's the guy when he does get his chance (whenever that is). And if he can't do that, he's not the guy we were all hoping he was.

I guess I gotta bring the cold water again.

Personally, I like it when we win. -
Op-Ed from NYT I thought this was cool.

I've said this a few times, but if you watch the original trilogy and really pay attention, the prequels write themselves. The story, as described by Obi-Wan in TESB and ROTJ, was great. How they screwed up the new ones, I'll never know.

There it is. Bullseye.

Right! He's sort of in the middle of the pack in those shots. Originally the wardrobe people had him wearing this big WWI-era German helmet but they decided at the last minute not to do that because it looked, well, ridiculous. I don't know how much it is, but he gets a little bit. If it's enough to buy lunch once a month, that'd be pretty cool. Probably not, though.

Help for some of the folks on PPP

Ouch, I think I just hurt myself from rolling my eyes so hard. -
OT: Anyone hear the new JayZ - Linkin Park CD

Are you talking about S.C.I.E.N.C.E. or Make Yourself? I love both those albums. Morning View had some great songs but it was much weaker from start to finish. I didn't even bother with the last one. -

While I'm at it, I'll stand up for one of the best, and definitely the most underrated, bands of the past 10 years. Third Eye Blind. Averaging 9 great songs or so per album over 3 albums is basically unheard of. Too bad the only thing everyone knows them for is "Semi-Charmed Life" (the doot-doot-doot, doot do-doot doot song). -

I'd say I know the first three songs on "Where You Want to Be" by heart, as well as "Great Romances of the 20th Century", "Cute without the E", and "You're So Last Summer" from "Tell All Your Friends". Both are great albums. I saw Incubus and the Deftones together (!) back in November 2000 in Toronto. Amazing show. Deftones played for over 2 hours and covered all the best songs from their first three albums. I also saw Incubus at Ozzfest 2000 in Columbus. They were a lot more agressive then, and they actually rocked pretty hard. -
Did you know the guy I'm talking about? His line was something like "it's a perfectly good engine if you just keep it tuned." Hopefully everyone keeps buying these DVDs and he can rake in many very small residual checks. I guess the whole experience of being on the set of that show was great though. All the 'stars' that he interacted with were cool and they really treated all the 'little actors' like him well. He had his own trailer and everything.

Taking Back Sunday kicks ass. Similar bands that are just as good would be Sugarcult and Brand New. No idea on any official classification of any of those bands. Nine Inch Nails and Deftones need to come back soon. And I wish Incubus would go back to sounding the way they did from 1997-2001. And Weezer should consider making their next album with songs that last more than 2 minutes each (see also: the Blue Album). -
The Empire Strikes Back is one of my all-time favorite movies, but it's barely sci-fi (fantasy?). For pure sci-fi, I'm going with..... ALIENS "My mommy always said there were no monsters, no real ones, but there are." "Game over, man, game over! We're !@#$ed!" "Get away from her, you B word!" Hell yeah. It came out in 1986 and nothing has come close to it since.

....and my uncle had a small role with a couple lines in one of the episodes (the one where the star of the show ends up in a duel towards the end). He played some interplanetary dignitary or something talking to the ship's mechanic about engines or something.

ATHF is one of the best shows on TV period. "Sex with animals.....there's no time, man!" "The real spaghetti got wet when I tried boiling it so..(inhales)....it's in the dryer!" Of the five choices, South Park gets my vote. Last night's episode cracked me up. The sight of Butters in the bear outfit had me laughing the whole time. The Simpsons was the best in its prime, but now the show is completely unwatchable. I'd say it's one of the worst shows on right now.

49.6% of all people are lying to themselves

Yeah, it worked out great for Giambi. A tumor in his stomach along with some 'intestinal parasites'. Sounds like things are going great. BTW, no one takes steroids so that they can play baseball. They take steroids to get an edge while playing baseball - say, to go from hitting 40 HR a year to maybe 73. I doubt there are many players in the minors who are just a steroid or two away from being in the Bigs. I'm confident that all the steroids in the world couldn't help anyone from TSW make it in pro sports (sorry guys). The sad part about Bonds is that he was a HOF player before he ever started using (probably in the late 90's after seeing Griffey voted player of the decade and all the fuss about Sosa/McGwire, along with no one caring about what they were using). -

No idea, but I did think it was totally awesome. Same set, too, I think. -
If Martz hadn't lost that Super Bowl back in 2002, maybe the Patriots are thrown off course and we wouldn't have to worry about them turning into a dynasty. Maybe I wouldn't have to see Tom Brady on TV 200 times a week ("It's my new favorite receiver".......*pukes*) Martz is like the sucky gift that keeps on sucking.
-
I agree with all of that but we should try to hold off on building that giant bronze Mularkey statue (#2). He definitely looks great right about now but there were some times during GW's reign of terror where the team played pretty well too. So far, so good, though.
-
Which ones?
-
How bad of a coach do you have to be to actually have fans from other teams hate you....for how idiotic you are? Seriously, normally I hate opposing players and coaches because they beat us consistantly. I hate Martz just because he's a moron.
-
If you judge him as a rookie, he is great. If you judge him as an NFL QB, he is a work in progress. I think he's about as good as a rookie QB can be and there's plenty to be happy about in Pittsburgh.

NO WAY! [/overreaction]
