Can't rule it it out. He has to my mind DEFINITELY done it once or twice. But overall I don't think that's happening a lot. I think he's a baller. And when he makes a mistake he is stunned and goes and chases it as hard as possible and as fast as possible. And when it doesn't work, it can look like that (which for the record is 24 points and a win - exact same as Mahomes produced yesterday 🤷🏽‍♂️). But more often he nails the next play and we go down and score and all is forgotten. It doesn't linger in the performance. It's the exact same set of qualities that let him go on all time heaters - that's just the good side of the coin. Same happened last night to be honest - they can lie all they want, but there are 31 other teams who would love to have what he can do when he's "on". He's just better than everyone else. That 4th and 7 play would be making most QBs all time career highlight videos, 17 does it once a week. He is wired to be extreme - feel it and he is an unstoppable football machine. Can't feel it that day - press, press, press, trying to find it. And he often does find it in the end. As he did yesterday. I just accept it as part of the deal - it's as much a part of him as the other 17/20 performances in the season when he's the best player on the field. That's just who this kid is - and he will be until he wins a Superbowl. Then and only then might he change.

I think all QBs do, we just don't notice it as much. And he makes his own (absurdly) high standards - that simply can't be met every week. Sport just doesn't work like that. Secondly, it typically leads to a Bills loss and soul searching / international detective enquiries as to why we lost a game. Whereas when guys like Mahomes, Lamar, Stafford, Darnold, Stroud do it - oftentimes their defence bails them out and everyone forgets they played like ass - and Josh gets pelted all week for the loss. So on some level the most exciting thing last night was that he got bailed out. The boy has sure earned some leeway given he has been the baddest MFer in the league for about 5 years now!

True for anyone we place there today. But tomorrow we can put 2 players on and they ARE eligible to come back into the 53 (meaning we can "retain" 55 players by putting two lightly injured players on there and keeping hold of someone we think might get claimed on waivers instead) But would count as 2 of the maximum 8 you can bring off IR in a season So basically guys you are almost sure you will bring into the 53 at some point.

Such a cheap strawman argument. I'm sure there is the odd idiot who thinks that - but more than that there are a good number of people who have watched enough ball to know it is sub-optimal to run a rush=heavy ball control offence when you have 17. I understand if the Jets do with Geno Smith, or the Raiders do it with Mendoza early on - it makes total sense. But it also make sense with Josh Allen to drop back and throw the damn ball. Especially on a nearly free down at 2nd and 2, the whole league knows that's a play action shot - except Brady who wants to run it again. None of which to day anyone hates a good rushing attack - that would be dumb - but we could definitely increase the passing 10% and see gains from doing that. Which is exactly what I expect they will do now Brady gets to run his own show and they have slightly better WR room (on paper anyway)
