  1. Practice squad, love it, active roster ??? Guess Carter is gone and they see Phillips as somebody that can fill in while Larry O is out that they can send back to the PS when he’s back
  2. Joe Marino had Lundt on the outside looking in as well, which surprised me because he previously said he thought Lundt put enough out on tape that he’d get snatched up. He’s probably hurt by Grable being out which makes RVD more attractive as an experienced backup, and you need Green or Feeney as interior depth (unless you could get one of those guys on the PS and elevate them in case of injury?). It might come down to needing to pick 3 out of these 4: Shavers, Ciarlo, Strong, Lundt, and Ciarlo has a lot of momentum. But I agree I’d try and keep Lundt somewhere on the 53
  3. Hope we get Zy Alexander back on the PS
  4. Easy PS stash for me. I could be naive but it seems unlikely he’d get scooped up, and then next year with a year under his belt you can have him compete for a depth role. With Shavers showing out and the uncertainty at CB and OL it’s hard for me to justify keeping 6 LB
  5. Wishing Tre the best, obviously, from a personal standpoint he doesn’t deserve another major injury. But is it bad for me to maybe hope that either he’s good to go for week 1, or it’s something we can IR him for? I’m not convinced the drop off from Tre to Dane Jackson is that large, and if it’s a minor thing that just has him out for a few weeks that makes getting everyone on the 53 tough with how many corners we’d have to keep. In any case I think what we really need for this unit to have any upside is for Hairston to take the reigns by mid-season and get ramped up for the playoffs
  6. Wouldn’t be the end of his career but it would be disappointing if it was a redshirt year for Jackson, because with Bosa and Epenesa presumably out next year that makes DE an urgent draft need for 2026 unless Hoecht is a stud. I was hoping Jackson would show enough this year to be considered for a starting job in 2026, and then you don’t feel like you have to use a premium asset on depth/competition for him
  7. Something that makes me feel optimistic about Shavers making the 53 (in addition to his on-field performance) is that it seems unlikely to me that the Bills would roster 5 WR and NONE of them play special teams. In the past when they kept 6 Kumerow was a core STer. Harty, Crowder, Stevenson and Roberts took return duties (or were at least expected to when they made the roster). Maybe I’d make an exception if one of them was a developmental player. But unless they secretly expect Moore to be returning kicks it’s hard for me to see both Samuel and Moore as WR 4 and 5 and neither do anything on teams. Also, could Samuels “illness” have something to do with a trade in the works?
  8. Kinda feel bad for Jonathan, seems like he might have been screwed out of a roster spot over Toohill with that rule incentivizing placing him on the PS. Joe Marino was saying that not only does the IPP rule allow the Bills to keep him for free on the PS, but he can't be poached unless he gets elevated more than 3 times I believe. But what a great move by Beane being able to keep both Toohill and Jonathan around while not even using a PS spot to do it. Makes way more sense why they kept Toohill now
  9. Feels like our OL and DB have successfully developed players from the PS to be rosterable if not contributing players lately. Have to think these players see that and wouldn't be surprised to see them make the 53 next year if they don't get poached this year. I'm very happy to have them back in house!
  10. Hardy for sure, though I can't imagine he gets through waivers. Outside of Hardy - Of the young guys: Shavers, Te'Cory Couch, Gore, Anthony Brown, Gouraige, Bills Of the vets: Jonathan, DeShaun Williams, Clapp, Hamler, Davidson or McKitty
  11. The odds are certainly against them, but the Bills have proven every year that guys on the PS get an opportunity. I wouldn't be surprised if Shavers and Shorter (and maybe X Johnson), assuming they make it back on the PS, have first dibs on competing for the Mack Hollins role next year with Mack on a 1 year deal
  12. Don't see a reason to hate this move. The way I see it, we needed a speed guy and he'll complete with Claypool/Hamler/Isabella to be that guy as WR5 (with Cephus/Shorter/Shavers competing to be the big special teams WR6). I was hoping to find that guy on day 3 in the draft, but that guy wouldn't be any better than MVS this year and with it being a 1 year deal presumably that means we go WR again in the 2025 draft. We weren't finding a game changer at this point so adding more competition for WR depth with a down the field speed guy seems fine to me
  13. My hot take is that while professionals have far more information and knowledge than fans, and while having more information is better in a vacuum, it can also lead to poor decision making if a GM over indexes on information that doesn't matter. What analytics does is it reduces the player down to a handful of data points that are known to be somewhat predictive of NFL success. Analytics doesn't model the player holistically, so it misses some context behind the numbers and also who the player is as a person. But if say a player is an excellent human being and wows the staff in person, they might let that information cloud any statistical red flags that us dumb fans wouldn't ignore. That's basically what I'm worried about with Coleman - though of course that's what we were worried about with Josh Allen and it turned out that the Bills staff nailed their assessment of him. That said, I do obviously trust Brandon Beane, and I would never claim that my uninformed opinion is better. But GMs get it wrong all the time and a lot of the time it's the surface level stuff that fans see that makes it obvious in hindsight
  14. If the Bills wanted Legette or Coleman they could move down one spot and definitely get one of them. If they knew the Pats wanted those guys too and Legette was Carolina's guy then they could have moved back 2 spots and been out of luck. Also possible Beane went to Carolina and said "hey New England is giving us X to move up, if you can beat that offer we'll swap picks so you can get your guy" which honestly makes more sense from Carolina's perspective why they gave up a relatively high amount to trade up one spot.
