Bills practice Thurs 8/17 starting with McD interview
HiMark replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
Okay, so a lot of the Mafia was down on Edmunds, not enough splash plays, blah...and a lot of other of the Mafia were pretty glad to have his talent, speed, size, length, 5PD's in one game last year i think, etc. And he got paid more than we wanted to match, so he's gone. So now, we are going to be less effective from that position, because we went from a top 5 guy to NOT a top 5 guy. But the rest of this D is so solid, that we will be able to prop-up a mediocre, replacement level signal caller in the middle. Just remember the context if whoever plays is good, meh, bad, or even 'splashy.' In order; Dodson, because he has done it before, and has earned it by holding off challengers; Bernard, because they value his speed, and hopefully he gets well; Klein, because performance is important (but I still don't think he makes the 53); Spector, because he can evidently do it, but perhaps at a purely replacement level; and Williams, who can afford to learn from the bench for quite a while, but could still end up the guy this year. ALL of them have durability issues compared to Edmunds (cept maybe Klein) so we may see plenty of them. I also think no way we bring someone else in, because of the signal calling aspect of the position. Beane might be on to something with this rookie TE. -
could be Shorter v Spector v Lewis for last roster spot. Shorter needs to show he can ST

Nelson is probably the best g in the league, so good for Timmy to get to test against him.

Not high on Isabella in return game. Failed to ever read or follow any of his blocks. Evans comes out and immediately makes a good read on a block. Don't think either will make team, tho, too much depth!
-
no. Too much value at other positions (cb, S, TE, rb, de, dt, even g, which we will NOT keep 5 of)

And Gouraige

No way, Gouraige won nearly every down he played at LT

My Too Early 53 man Roster based on Camp reports

I don't disagree about Q, I just don't see a better option yet. Doyle is much diminished after his ACL injury. Keep an eye on Richard Gouraige, our other young hope. -
My Too Early 53 man Roster based on Camp reports
HiMark replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
I do not have Lewis on my 53 yet. I understand his value to Coach, but I also liken his value on the waiver-wire, as likely unclaimed, and so I hesitate to keep those guys when I can cut them (still pissed they didn't cut him to keep Hodgins.) So I need 7 more, 6 once we pick a backup qb--opinion withheld Morriss Sternberger Quessenberry (Sorry, Doyle) Shell Edwards Hamlin And with Von to PUP, Settle Wait, that means I cut Boogie, and I don't want to do that (General Managing is hard!). I'm afraid Morriss gets the high hat. sorry pal, hope to see you on the Squad side! -
I looked at his stats on PFreference, but couldn't see what side of the line he played on. My fuzzy memory says he played more RDE in his rookie year, when we didn't have Shaq or Von, but more LDE last year. Hie decline might be bc he switched to his lesser side? I prefer to keep him to replace AJ next year, if they choose not to re-up.

Need to see impact on ST, where I assume he will be most excellent. Don't throw to him in pre if you want him on the PS!

2021: 37% snap rate, 330 snaps, 1.5 sacks 2022: 38% snap rate, 375 snaps, 6.5 sacks I think you have a pretty good take here.

Is Matt Barkley a better fit than Kyle Allen in this offense?
HiMark replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Still have that Eichel jersey? -
Sort of why I'm okay about the trade up for Kincaid. Didn't really see anybody I needed go bw 130 and 13whatever

Feeling good about the pile-up-on-UFA's-early theory. Get 2 running backs, why not?

Guess they want the pick of the litter for undrafted rb's. A 7th rounder will give them that

100 yard rusher vs 300 yard passer winning percentage - interesting
HiMark replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Um, no? Just saying there is an actual reason why 100 yard rushing games are co-related strongly with wins. They often happen BECAUSE you are winning. The Bills are likely to have both, or more 300y passing wins, because that is how we build big leads. Also, as in the last 2 Pats games, its how we run out the clock 😁 -

If you have a big lead, and you run out the clock, you will win 100% of those games. So how do you get those big leads? -
Sal Capaccio tweets starters... Spencer Brown and more...
HiMark replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bernard. Very interesting. There has been an assumption all along that we are going to roll out the same exact defense, and therefore nobody can find a role or need for Terrel. Seeing as how we have listed 12 starters, it is clear that there are going to be some scheme changes this year. Lots of 4-3, less of Taron. Maybe a 50-50 split? I expect Bernard to be set loose as a blitzer, and I predict him as no lower than 3rd on the team in sacks. -
Brandon and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week
HiMark replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. Exception: when the lawsuit was filed it WAS cut and dried. And they acted. I'm not mad at Beane for drafting a guy that--as he says--he didn't know was an alleged rapist. I AM mad at Matt Araiza for being an alleged rapist. -
Bonus points for correctly using to, too and two in the same sentence.

Last 3 lines were a reply to Doc Brown, not you. Not sure why they merged

Not a lawyer here, but I actually think a CBA doesn't change the sitch. I think if you were to say you cut a player because of his religion or his sexual orientaion, that there would be grounds for suit. And the NFLPA would be glad to help. Good for you for discussing it at length. I was suggesting that there was a distinction between league discipline--which the articles I read discussed--and the Comm. exempt list, which did NOT come up in what I had read. If you don't actually know, fine. If you do know, elaborate. If you can post a link to an article, I'll read it.

Employment is "at will" in NY, BUT, if you state any reasons why you are firing a person, then you have given the person some ground s on which to sue you--whether solid grounds or not. This is, IMO, what led to the semi-sudden end of their presser; a journalist asking him "So you've been advised by the Bills (attourneys) that there are things you shouldn't adress?" Beane: "Yes." And then he gets up and leaves.

I am glad we cut him, right move, but would still like to know whether Commissioner's exempt list was even an option? Didn't come up in the NFL discipline articles.
