He’s a great depth piece imo. People calling to trade him just expect ALL round 1 guys to be elite by year 2. He’s had big woof games and plays but getting rid of him is a mistake. Great depth to have and still hopefully can turn out decent.
Kyle Allen stinks, always has. He has 6 wins in 23 games, including 1-12 in his last 13 starts. He's lucky he started his career 4-0 or he'd be on the streets. I don't understand why that was our plan at backup to challenege barkley. Neither are good options for a week or so should Allen miss time.
Typically a qb throwing across his body into the middle of the field while scrambling is a big no no from coaches. With Allen it's obviously different.
He's an amazing talent there's no doubting that of course. That doesnt mean he should be void of criticism for turnovers. He had 22 combined last year between interceptions and fumbles.
I'd like that. I'm more so saying I do NOT want him to make more conservative decisions on the offensive side of the ball given that he's more confident HE can outcoach on D calling all the plays and pressures.
I am afraid of him wanting to play it safer on offense now (4th down, agressiveness, etc) because he thinks his big brain can call defense better and get a stop/ball back. He had turned the corner on becoming an aggressive data driven HC when it came to those decisions on offense and I'd hate to see him regress on that.
Highs:
Kincaid, Allen, shorter, mcd’s new glasses
lows:
Oline, penalties (wtf was that), Dawkins, brown, Barkley (dead heat for qb 2 now), q1 defense, cook, Barkley tackling murray, oline again
the sky is not falling.
Those are the big ones. Also Bradford, Jordy Nelson, Etienne, and Dobbins come to mind. There's examples of players at every position. I'd agree that alot are not considered stars (QB's like Allen/etc), but losing any starter position before the games matter is a big reason not to play them for a Q and a half in a meaningless game.
