Maxwell Hairston named in civil lawsuit for sexual assault
WNYFAN1 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hmmm... if this happened (HUGE if), and if I were this girl's father, I'd want to stick it as hard as humanly possible to this guy. Thus I'd have advised waiting. If it didn't happen, then obviously just a money grab. Lot of "ifs" It's literally the top item on the Headlines of ESPN.COM -
Maxwell Hairston named in civil lawsuit for sexual assault
WNYFAN1 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
So I have zero idea of the facts of this case. But let's pretend for a minute that you were sexually assaulted by a guy and the criminal justice system let you down. Isn't this EXACTLY how you would go about getting justice? Maybe not, but for a lot of people this is actually a pretty logical step. You can't get the criminal system to help, use the civil system. Again, I have zero clue if anything happened, just pointing out that there could actually be logic to this approach. As an aside, he better be good, otherwise why bother drafting someone with any baggage like this? -

Will gambling ruin the NFL and sports in general?
WNYFAN1 replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
As a father of teenage boys who love the NFL, gambling is one of the number one things I worry about. It's WAY too easy now. I've tried to educate them on the risks. I've also tried to make sure that sure, root for your team and get invested. But ALWAYS remember, this is a game being played by millionaires for billionaires, and the number one goal this league has is to make money. -
Drew Brees reveals right arm 'no longer works'

It definitely sucks what these guys go through, especially the TBI stuff. But, they know the risks and get paid obscene amounts of money. It's a choice. -
How do you count passes behind the line of scrimmage? This is a dink and dunk, run first offense with Josh making off-script hero plays. Not a high-octane passing offense by any stretch of the imagination.
-
Don't disagree, but "if" the offense is going to be run centric? It 100% has been under Joe Brady. Look at that "top 2 QB's" passing numbers last year: Passing Yards - 14th Comp % - 24th Attempts - 14th Yrd/Completion - 9th Passing TDs - T7th Joe Brady is a "run first" guy. Or at least he has been to this point.

PFF's top 32 TE's (Dalton Kincaid at 10!!!!!)
WNYFAN1 replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Additionally, let's not pretend Josh had a prolific passing season last year. He was 14th in the NFL in passing yards and 7th in TDs. -
True, still plenty of room in the super bowl trophy cabinet...

Who is our worst match up in the AFC as of now?
WNYFAN1 replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah the AFCE is an absolute joke and is definitely a huge advantage that we have. -
Josh Allen 2024 Salary Cap Hit - 30 million Jalen Hurts 2024 Salary Cap Hit - 13 million That's a lot of extra benjamins the Eagles had to spend on defense.

Agreed, I don't know how you can go into the season banking on leading the league in turnover differential again. I think that's what many fans aren't appreciating enough, just how much the offense benefited from the turnovers.
-
I don't dislike Beane, at all. But it does make me wonder, is he, or really any GM, much better at the draft than a random number generator would be? Put another way, what percentage of the draft is luck vs skill?
-
All true... but conveniently ignores the fact that the Bills defense DID generate a ton of turnovers, resulting in the offense having the best starting field position in the entire league. Gotta think that helped them score all those points...
-
Agreed. And can the offense count on having the best starting field position in the league for another year?
-
Beane: "You guys forget, you're not counting like Dalton Kincaid" Jeremy: (sheepishly) "we are" Lol

Is there an NFL team with a weaker WR group than the Bills?
WNYFAN1 replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
It doesn't hurt that they had literally the best starting field position in the entire NFL last year. -

After the draft I'm 100% taking the Raider's receiving options (if you include Bowers) over ours. -
Being a top 3 team in scoring. Does it matter how we do it?
WNYFAN1 replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
I suspect we benefited from having the best starting field position in football last year. -
Just how can you not love JA17
WNYFAN1 replied to NY to VA to NV to TX to AZ's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hey, I love the guy, but seriously? I think we get caught up and laud him for just being a decent guy. -
Only point I'll make is our "average defense" DID provide the offense with literally the best starting field position in football last year: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2024/#drives::9 Can the turnovers be repeated? Probably not, but it's worth remembering that the terrific year the offense had benefited, in part, from having the shortest field in football.
