Agreed, I don't know how you can go into the season banking on leading the league in turnover differential again. I think that's what many fans aren't appreciating enough, just how much the offense benefited from the turnovers.
I don't dislike Beane, at all. But it does make me wonder, is he, or really any GM, much better at the draft than a random number generator would be?
Put another way, what percentage of the draft is luck vs skill?
All true... but conveniently ignores the fact that the Bills defense DID generate a ton of turnovers, resulting in the offense having the best starting field position in the entire league. Gotta think that helped them score all those points...
Only point I'll make is our "average defense" DID provide the offense with literally the best starting field position in football last year: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2024/#drives::9
Can the turnovers be repeated? Probably not, but it's worth remembering that the terrific year the offense had benefited, in part, from having the shortest field in football.
I don't blame them either, but the numbers being thrown around the NFL and pro sports in general, while tax payers foot part of the bill for stadiums, seems kinda insane
