  1. He weighed 329 at the combine. Feel better now? 😆
  2. Yes Rudolph. It should be a good battle between him and Trubisky as to who will guide the sleigh.
  3. Landry is a great football player. He reminds me a lot of Hines Ward. Any team would benefit from his toughness and savvy but I'd prefer we spend the capital on a different style of player. I wouldn't hate if we got Landry but I feel the Bills would benefit more from a guy who could stretch the field and explode for touchdowns... guys like Scantling or Mecole Hardman.
  4. Yes. And then you have to factor in how much his replacement will be paid.
  5. If you were in the business of reporting or speculating on player compensation, why wouldn't you reference both? Laziness?
  6. I've been going to Pro Football Reference for many years. I'm not seeing where you the numbers you state are broken down or sortable by 4th quarters. Don't worry about it.
  7. Thanks WEO. Unfortunately I'm not finding that in the link... I'm not saying it doesn't exist but I'm not seeing it. Are the facts you stated from when he entered the league 10 years ago or what is the time frame?
  8. Really?!?!? Wow, I'm hugely surprised by that. What is your source?
  9. I'm really happy he's coming back. I strongly feel this is a grave miscalculation on his part... like the fighter who stayed one fight too long. Brady was 33-3 vs the Bills, the best record by any QB against any team. I would think all Bills fans would relish nothing more than the opportunity to beat him in the Super Bowl. The Bills Super Bowl win in 11 months will be made much sweeter by Mr. Bundchen's unretirement.
  10. Sir Isaac Newton, correct? In fairness, they didn't have a lot of options, no? It's splitting hairs but I disagree. I've never seen a more risk averse QB than Cousins. He makes Trent Edwards look like Indiana Jones. On the other hand I think Carr understands risk/reward better than Cousins and Garrapolo absolutely doesn't fear throwing the ball anywhere in any situation.
  11. Anyone who has a handle like his is only here to troll. Sadly there's always detritus to wade through around here.
  12. Stopwatch speed aside, McKenzie is nowhere close to Hill. On the other hand Beasley is nowhere close to McKenzie. McKenzie's speed and quickness were on constant display even on the fake jet sweeps. Maybe Beasley has a resurgence but last year he was basically falling down to avoid hits after catching the ball. It was honestly one of the most pathetic run after the catch seasons I can ever recall by a receiver. Beasley is not the same player he was two years ago. Maybe he regains his mojo, maybe he doesn't.
  13. What was McKenzie wearing? As for cost, the devil is in the details. As for durability he is tiny but I don't recall McKenzie ever taking a big hit. He seems to protect himself really well. This falls under the "If someone has to explain it to you, you'll never understand anyways." Or as others have suggested, another tight end to employ in 2 TE sets.
  14. I think that sort of discipline is important. A person in Beane's position has to put an appraised value on everything and stick to it. It should be an automatic response to any player availability. It should be coldly rational and not emotional in any way. That said, aside from being disciplined there's always the discussion of whether any given appraisal is a good one or not.
  15. Not sure what Jones' comments about scheme preference really mean but I found this to be interesting as far as his stated position: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JoneCh03.htm
  16. I don't think Lorax's situation is relevant. There's a difference between a player stating they only want to play in a certain scheme and said player taking a team at their word that they are going to change their scheme to fit the player. Lorenzo Alexander played D-line many years before he transitioned to LB... and he made that transition well before he signed with the Bills. Regardless we'll see soon enough. As another poster said, they believe that Chandler Jones would prefer to play as a 4-3 end.
  17. You missed the point. What does Lorenzo Alexander "working out fine" have to do with Chandler Jones stating that scheme fit is important to him?
  18. It seems everyone is ignoring this fairly telling piece. Jones has repeatedly said he wants to play in a scheme appropriate to his skills. This means Bills fans should be asking what scheme(s) he ideally fits in and which scheme(s) he doesn't. Some clues would be who drafted him? What scheme did they run? What did the Cards play last year and did he seem happy in it? To oversimplify it, is he a 3-4 OLB or a 4-3 DE??? What do the Bills run???
  19. The acquisition of Khalil Mack could be the move that pushes the Chargers into the playoffs for the first time in 4 years. A potentially great move if he has any football left in him.
  20. I've heard of him!!! p.s. - What do the advanced metrics say about the guy?
  21. How many draft-eligible players are completely disqualified from consideration? Seems to me like it wouldn't be very many players. Just my own speculation but if a person is viewed as "less-than-ideal" or "damaged goods" based on the GunnerBill list: - not being good enough; - health / injury red flags; - not being a scheme fit; - not being a character fit; - not feeling that they have enough tape / information (which can still happen with some smaller school guys although the Bills are one of the more thorough teams); Isn't it more likely that the player would simply be downgraded to a later round? For instance if someone has a 2nd round grade but is an injury or character concern, wouldn't the team simply put a 4th or 5th round grade on him in order to mitigate the risk? The idea is that you would consider selecting the player at a spot where the cost:benefit/risk:reward makes sense. Seems like a downgrade would be a more common device than a disqualification. JMO.
  22. The Seahawks would have to acquire Watson in a trade so it would be interesting to see how much of the haul from the Wilson trade is then spent on acquiring Watson.
  23. That's correct. Tremaine Edmunds just completed his 4 year in the NFL and he was 15 years old as a rookie. You have to figure it's only a matter of time before he's one of the league's best.
  24. Yes. He was an effective player once the Bills figured out how to play to his strengths. The simplest critique of his game is that he was pretty good moving forward and pretty bad moving backwards. I don't think there's any linkage between this move and Edmunds' fate.
  25. That IS a nice mock.
