The Coleman throw was inside when it should have been outside shoulder. I agree that Coleman should have adjusted it and caught. Coleman disappoints me because he is very hot and cold. He is either making an amazing catch or ruining routine plays.

I’d very much prefer they don’t hire him. Every coach had faults and he is not immune to that, but his teams were always physical and played hard.

Down by 7 could simply mean that the other team got the ball first. Down by 14 means you’re whole team is playing poorly and you need to reset. The Ravens reset by running. The rest of the league resets by passing.

Added another chart option today. It shows how often teams pass the ball based on the score differential of the game (winning/losing and by how much). Mentioned this in another thread too but the only team who runs the ball more when theyre losing is the Ravens.

What I find interesting is that the Ravens go run heavy when they are losing. In other words, they put the game in Henry's hands... instead of Lamar.

Thats not true. The reason we win so many games despite bad end of game calls is because we also have the most double digit wins over those same years you references. Thats a mixture of Josh Allen and good coaching by McD and others... until the end of the game.

Late in games - pretty rare. He typically makes the wrong decision late in games. It doesn’t always cost us, because Allen does something ridiculous or we have a large lead because of good decisions he made earlier in the game. But to answer your question - late in the game, I would say he makes just as many bad decisions as he does good. If not more. It always surprises me when he makes a good decision late in the game. There are so many instances that it’s hard to even keep track of all of them. They are littered throughout every season. Even little things, like calling a defensive timeout and giving the opposing offense time to come up with a play … whereas before they were rushing. Most of them are forgotten about because they are numerous and typically small in the grand scheme. I almost forgot. The team literally hired a timekeeping assistant, and a former ref, because of McD’s mistakes in that realm as well.

Let’s see how it does in the playoffs. I’ll be uber impressed if he can do it there.

You seem to be confused. Folks aren’t mad that McD makes calls. They are upset that they are almost always the wrong call, late in the game.

A few main reasons. For one, it is widely believed that McD has a big say in personnel. Secondly, because those other things aren’t why we have lost in the most spectacular games. - Mishandling of 13 seconds didn’t come down to schedule, injuries, weather or luck. It was just coaching. - Passing three times at the 1 yard line at the end of the game didn’t come down to schedule, injuries, weather or luck. It was just coaching. - Having 12 guys on the field for a missed Broncos field goal didn’t come down to schedule, injuries, weather or luck. It was just coaching. - Attempting a fake punt with Damar Hamlin in the playoffs didn’t come down to personnel, schedule, injuries, weather or luck. It was just coaching. I do agree that injuries were the reason we lost to the Chiefs in the playoffs last year. I think we win that game with our full defense. And I also agree that we need ti keep McD.

We will continue to have them until he does something new. 13-3 … done that before win the division … done that before #2 seed in conference … done that before People want to see upward movement. Get the 1 seed. Get the bye. Go to the Super Bowl. Anything to show improvement. That being said, the amount of steadiness he brings is impressive and I find it implausible to think we could get another coach that gives us that improvement.
