  1. I would have said this question was ridiculous at the start of the season. I recognize that this is pure conjecture, but Allen genuinely doesn’t seem happy. And I understand how difficult (and perhaps unfair) that is to infer form facial expressions on television, but there is a clear delineation between his attitude the past 7 years and this year. He just looks… down. Apathetic. Zero fire. If I were to hazard a guess straight of my (bleep), I would say he doesn’t care to relive groundhog day again.
  2. Agree. If Gabe had caught that, this game goes down as “Allen magic” once again. Instead you have Allen haters coming out of the woodwork.
  3. No, they don’t. Not when all of their receiving options are blanketed.
  4. No. You don’t do this when the receiver is blanketed.
  5. Ah yes, the old “QB should throw the ball on his 3rd step whether a receiving option is open or not”. Wonderful idea. Interceptions surely won’t come from that brilliant suggestion.
  6. Yeah this is essentially McD saying “this is not Allen’s fault”.
  7. He did it several times yesterday. Allen is desperately trying to make something happen and Dawkins decides to give up halfway through the play.
  8. Agreed. And to be clear, it was a mix of long developing routes and mesh concepts where we ran receivers underneath where the Texans appear to have known our exact plays and routes. It was hard to watch. This. We are running the EXACT same plays every week. One example of this that any law person can see if the WR screens.
  9. For future GENERAL reference for everyone: SEEING AN OPEN PERSON ON THE FIELD DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING WITHOUT CONTEXT. Read that bolded section over and over again. 1) The QB goes through progressions. The open receiver is often open AFTER the QB passes him in the progression. 2) Many plays are designed to get certain people open - like Palmer. That’s what happened on this play. And Allen was pressured making him unable to move on.
  10. It’s incredible how people start these posts and have no idea… 1) As BuffaloBillyG said, due to OPI it wouldn’t have counted anyway. 2) Palmer was who the play was designed for. He was the bread the whole way. Knox was supposed to set a pick for Palmer to get free but he was just a step too late.
  11. That play was designed to go to Palmer. He was the read the whole way. Knox was supposed to set a pick for Palmer but he was a step too slow getting there. Not to mention it wouldn’t have counted due to Gabe’s OPI.
  12. You’re talking to an Allen hater.
  13. Throw them open? How does a QB throw a WR open when the defense is running the route for them? You’re asking him to throw interceptions.
  14. I don’t think we will need to win 12 games to make the playoffs. 11-6 will make it (that’s 4-2 the rest of the way). 10-7 might even make it (that’s 3-3). Not that it matters, since I don’t see how this team could make a SB run anyway.
  15. Daboll was very good at scheming receivers open. He had his warts, but giving easy options for Josh was not one of them.
  16. Or an offense! We have a bad defense AND a pitifully inconsistent offense. If we could have just ONE good side of the ball, that would be nice. And no i’m not impressed by beating up and dropping 40 on the bad teams.
  17. I get what you’re saying but it’s hard to imagine this team turning it around and winning even a single playoff game.
  18. Nonsense. There is no QB in NFL history who would have done better tonight.
  19. I mean… the offense is kinda why the Texans scored over 20 (Shakir’s fumble in field goal range, for example).
  20. PS, this is what I meant by traffic beaters in my original post. “Running routes for the Bills” is a perfect way to say it.
  21. 😂 PS, sounds like Jim was going off tonight.
  22. I get it, but 12 points is simply not acceptance on offense - even against a great defense. The Titans offense scored more points against that defense than we did.
  23. Forgot to mention one other thing; Our receiving options don’t seem to know what to do when Allen scrambles. They mostly just stay still or move only slightly. I don’t get it. They don’t come back toward the ball, or try to shake their defender. Actually Shakir did a little, but everyone else? Just … statues for the most part.
