The spacing of this offense has been horrible all year.

Everyone knew your meant led. They’re just being jerks.

Reading the Pats forum, it sounds like this has been a long time coming. They say he has been a malcontent on the team for a long time.

I’ve been watching the Lions more and more just because of Ben Johnson. His play calling is so darn creative and fun. And his spacing is beautiful. We used to run similar concept to this with Daboll. I can’t recall the last time i’ve seen it:

Houston feels like where we were in 2019. It was all starting to click.

The Jets would legitimately be the best team in the NFL if they had a quarterback. Their defense is incredible. -
Bills could be tied for 1st in the AFC at 7-4

Unfortunately the better team doesn’t always win. Ask the 2007 Patriots. -

Yep. This is why those losses to the Jets and Patriots are so disappointing. We could be #1 in the AFC right now, if we simply beat two teams that are much worse than us. -

Thank you. You were one of the very few who understood what I failed to perfectly describe. -

Honestly they remind me of the 2022 Bills. The last 3/4 of the season we were playing poorly but kept winning, so fans were convinced we were great… but we just weren’t. -

My goodness the Texans are embarrassing the Bengals. -

You’re right that it’s not debatable, but it’s not debatable that we aren’t the worst defense in the league without those guys. Not a single metric shows us to be. -

I don’t agree. Patriots scored 17 points against a Commanders defense that we put 37 points on. Patriots scored 17 points against a Dolphins defense that we hung nearly 50 points on. Patriots scored (you guessed it) 17 points against a Raiders defense we put 38 points on. Patriots scored 0 points against a Saints defense that gave up 26 points to the Bucs, 27 points to the Colts, 31 points to the Jags, etc. Unless you’re telling me that we are in the worst defense in the NFL without Ed, Milano and Tre, then we simply played and coached like crap that final drive against NE. -

it is so disheartening to see every defense the Patriots play, make them look inept… except for the Bills. -
If I was Amazon i’d be really upset with the NFL and the garbage games they put on TNF. A billion dollars per year for the right to broadcast games like the Bears and Panthers.

Great catch. I missed this. Would love a breakdown.

Ed Oliver play in the last game?
Einstein replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, but he has had to play out of position for much of the year. He is a much better 3 tech than a 1 tech. -
Agreed. Heck, we have a good portion of our fanbase who couldn’t imagine letting McDermott go because he got us to the playoffs for the first time in 17 years. Imagine if we had Belichick here and he brought us to 9 Super Bowls? I think those fans may have cemented his feet to Highmark stadium by now 😂

Sorry for the confusion, but I didn’t mean the Rams method, where they traded all their draft picks and mortgaged their future. I mean strategic moves for proven players. For example, rather than waiting until the off-season to sign Von Miller, make the deal to trade for Von Miller during the season, like it was rumored. I truly believe if we had Von Miller in 13 Seconds, we win. He would have been the difference in getting that 1 extra stop somewhere during the game, in my opinion. Or trading for Roquan Smith last offseason, when we knew Edmunds would be hard to keep, and rumors were that we were interested. He is balling in playing like a top 10 LB in Baltimore now. Imagine a defense with Milano, Roquan and and Bernard? *Chills*. His contract at the time was very doable, though he has since gotten a big deal that we couldn’t afford. Or even as simple as signing Hopkins. It would be great to have a sure handed receiver that can high-point the ball, and at least thus far he hasn’t been a basket case in Tennessee. There was also the CMC trade that has boosted SF’s offense. It just seems like we are always talking to teams about proven players but it never comes to fruition. And I can fully respect why Beane doesn’t want to. He wants to be a good steward of his draft picks and the cap. But I would love to have made 1 or 2 of these moves. . -

Agreed. Of all the national media, Simms and Florio are the best, in my opinion. They’re not the ESPN-type-blowhards. Love Florio’s comments pointing out that the Bills never push their chips in and go for it. They simply re-tool moderately every year and never go after elite guys to push us over the top. I get why they don’t. But I would be lying if I said I wouldn’t love them doing that. -
Not really. He had 2 reads there - Diggs and Davis. Honestly he just underthrew it. A proper throw and that's a 30 yard gain.
