That's sorta how it is where I'm from with Dallas. *EVERYONE* rooted for the Cowboys, but my parents didn't follow the NFL, only college. Thank the Lord. Now it's a split between Dallas (I'd say 75%), KC (15%) and the rest Cleveland because of bandwagon OU fans rooting for Cleveland due to Baker.

1988, 2nd round of the NFL draft... Buffalo selects Thurman Thomas from Oklahoma State. I was 13 years old and surrounded by Dallas Cowboys fans in Southern Oklahoma. My dad and grandfather are OSU graduates (I'm a 3rd generation grad) and started following the Bills when they were on TV because of Thurman. I fell in love with the team and haven't looked back. Even with the greatest RB in college (and probably pro) history coming in right behind Thurman at Oklahoma State, I couldn't pull for Detroit. Was wondering, anyone else become a fan of Buffalo due to a player?

I hope he ends up at Ole Miss (my youngest daughter is a student there) but I doubt he follows in his uncle's/grandpa's footsteps. Texas would be a mistake IMO, they have been a non-factor for a decade and even my Pokes (Oklahoma State) has dominated the Longhorns for over 10 years now (6-1 in Austin the last seven meetings and 8-4 the L12 overall)... so if you can't beat OSU with OSU's 3-4 star recruits with half the athletic budget... you're doing something wrong. Texas has problems that go beyond their coaching staff(s). I'm going to guess UGA or Alabama.

He's had a 5 catch 117 yard game, a 6 catch 80 yard game, a 7 catch 60 yard game and a 5 catch 89 yard game... just this past season.

Nothing but love for the kid. OSU's (my OSU) secondary the past couple of seasons have been outstanding. There are several future NFL players on that defense. Wish Tanner the best of luck and hope he and coach tear it up in the B1G!!!

We're hearing UGA here in Oklahoma. It is ridiculous and I hate OU. Kid is the lock starter for a top 10 program and he's going to shop is $$$$ around thanks to the NIL. The end of college football as we know it as started.

I am not ashamed to be a fan of the Crimson Tide. My long deceased father introduced me to them at age 10. kids are opting out now because of other non NY6/CFP bowls are pointless. Expanding that gives them a reason to play. And what happened to Corral is rare. Kid has played his entire career like he did last night (my youngest is at Ole Miss) and he just got hurt. Could happen in week 1. So reduce the games by 1 (non conference). It's going to be their FIFTEENTH (15th) game played this season. That includes their week one game against Wyoming. Ferris State just beat Valdosta State in the DII Championship game. That was their FOURTEETH (14th) game played this season. Mary Hardin-Baylor beat North Central Illinois for the DIII Championship. Like Montana State, it was their FIFTEENTH (15th) game played this season. Again, we can play an expanded playoff like the other divisions. We already play up to 15 games now. I'm advocating for an expansion so the NCAA can take charge and give us a real championship trophy unlike the BCS or CFP. Or hell, back when the AP crowned the champion. It's completely achievable. Alabama didn't even win their own division, couldn't play for a conference title and yet they get into the BCS title game... because they are Alabama (rolling my eyes). NOTHING of what you said makes any difference in regards to why I'm pro-expansion like nearly EVERY fan of college football... and media member. Nearly every. single. one. Seems the Alabama fans here are the only ones against it. I wonder why? Maybe because Bama is pretty much consensus top 2 in the country pre-season every year? They are at the top and get to stay around the top 5 regardless if they win or lose (to like a team like A&M). I'm not arguing how good Alabama football is. It's been the best the past 12-13 years. I never said grab anyone off the street. I said they can likely find someone who can kick, especially on a team with NFL players. Most people at that level, probably kicked in high school. You can't tell me Haack, who has kicked since HS, can't work on FG's or extra points. He's not a 20 year pro playing flag or touch football. He's been taught by professionals since he was at Arizona State. Again, many kicked in HS. Like Welker, I watched him in Oklahoma kick 40+ yard field goals for Heritage Hall back in 1998. He could still kick in the NFL when needed.

If this dude can learn to kick in a few days, it can't be hard for a PROFESSIONAL football player, who probably kicked in HS, to learn how to kick an extra point or short FG.

NCAA D2 (FCS) and NCAA D3 all play a solid post-season playoff. D3 has 32 teams make it, D2 has 24. Both D2 and D3 play a total of 15 games (max). If Alabama beats Cincy and makes it to the title game, they'll also play 15. That kills your argument in it's tracks. It's not difficult to do brother... you get rid of non-conference games that don't matter. SEC no longer plays "sub-par teams" at the end of the season (like the mighty Aggies of NM State or South Alabama). Big XII no longer plays teams like Tulsa or Western Carolina. You might be in the 0.01% that doesn't want the expansion. Why not? College football is my first love, always will be... but there is NO sporting 'event' better than the NCAA Tournament. 64+4 teams getting to battle it out and ANYONE can win. Fans LOVE to watch it, it's exciting. If you've never attended a NCAA Tournament, it's an amazing atmosphere. Seeing a team like Florida Gulf Coast (15 seed) beat a 2 seeded Georgetown then make it to the Sweet 16 is so much fun. We'd have answers at that point. We'd see if a Baylor or Oklahoma State could compete with Bama, Georgia or Michigan. We would then FINALLY have a TRUE NCAA champion. Something we have never had in D1/FCS football. I feel the only ones against it are the fans of teams who always make it in... Bama and Clemson for example.

This might be the only Playoffs I'll give a rip about in a while because we have new blood in the water. I hope Cincy beats the piss out of Alabama. There are two Bama teams... the one that played against A&M, Auburn, LSU, Arkansas and one that played against Ole Miss & UGA. For MOST college football fans, Bama is like New England.
