SNF: Detroit @ Kansas City (no Bills stuff in this thread please)
SaulGoodman replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wouldn't be any controversy? Ha. Just like there wouldn't be controversy if Mahomes were knocked down two yds out of bounds in the AFCC? Or when they call defensive holding on a player who had a fistful of jersey in the SB? There's "controversy" over every call that benefits the Chiefs, and crickets when it goes the other way. Simple as that. -
The only KC game this year in which officiating had a big role in the outcome was the game in Jacksonville. 13-4 disparity and they practically carried them into the endzone for the winning score.

OCTOBER 19: Around the NFL, Week 7
SaulGoodman replied to Ridgewaycynic2013's topic in The Stadium Wall
Are you saying it wasn’t a penalty? -
I wouldn't overlook Houston. Elite D and good QB. Didn't Allen have one of his worst games ever against them last year?

Yeah, the guy who has consistently been fined for this kind of behavior is a victim. It's clearly everybody else's fault. -

The point is that you don't see KC fans (or other fanbases) judging Allen for that years after the fact. I brought up the taunt because people are berating Mahomes for pointing at a player, despite Allen doing the same exact thing on multiple occasions. People also accuse Mahomes of flopping, while hand-waving the fact that Allen is one of the most blatant floppers you'll find. I'm not saying this to disparage Allen. I don't dislike Allen. The point is it's ridiculous to paint Mahomes as classless, petulant, or whatever. He's been the epitome of class in every interaction w/ the media and fans over his entire career. -

Remember when Allen threw the ball at a Chiefs player several years ago? If a KC player had gotten up and punched him, would you have said "actions have consequences?" What about the time he pointed and taunted a Bengals player a few years back? Did it vs the Dolphins once too. Is that bad, or only if Mahomes does it? -

Ah, that one. Which do you think is a stronger indicator of an agenda...a missed call or 15 flags? Of course it "seems" like KC's always on the right side. Because every controversial call/no-call is magnified by millions of people, and every call that hurts the Chiefs is ignored/celebrated. You have to at least acknowledge a bias, right? One of the best examples of hater bias was the game in ATL last year. Falcons had a chance to drive for the game-winning score and drew three huge calls on their final drive, at least two of which were weak. Penalty yds accounted for practically the entire drive. The post-game Twitter narrative? "Did you see that egregious no-call on Atlanta's 2nd to last drive?? Another obvious fix!!" -

What was the worst missed DPI since Saints-Rams again? I'm pretty sure it was actually 15 flags, with a few declined. In a 3 pt, last-second loss, in which the opponent was set up with 1st and goal at the 1 with 30 seconds remaining. I'm sure your fans would've left that game saying "they were clearly trying to help us tonight!" -

I didn't hear them defend it. I'm pretty sure they all agreed it wasn't a catch. -

You have no idea what was said throughout the game. But, sure...side with the guy who's racked up almost $120,000 in fines in two years, and punched Smith-Schuster. No doubt he's a victim. -

They didn't have zero penalties. A couple were declined. The refs obviously made a mistake on the Kelce "catch." Mistakes happen. I see them in every game I watch. When the Chiefs are on the wrong side of a 13-4 flagfest...crickets. Zero claims of "rigged." But when it's 4 flags to 2 in their favor, there's an obvious agenda. Funny how that works, eh? -

Probably won't get the 1 seed due to a brutal schedule, but this is a better team than last year's, and could ultimately become their best in several years. -
Today’s NFL fan for ya. Every loss is a fix, but every win is legit.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW – At the One-Quarter Mark
SaulGoodman replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure we know too much about the Bills yet. They've played three of the worst teams in the NFL, and needed a miracle to beat the one decent team they've played, which just fell to 1-3. -
Ravens at Chiefs - who do you want to have their third loss?
SaulGoodman replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm thinking the Chiefs offense is going to be just fine when Rice comes back. -

KC/Mahomes are classless for handing it off to Kareem Hunt to salt away a win? That’s a new one. 😄 -

Allen vs Mahomes, is this a controversial take?
SaulGoodman replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
The reality is that respect for Andy Reid increased about 1000% after Mahomes arrived. 5 years earlier, he was FIRED by his previous franchise. He drew a ton of criticism as a choker and poor clock manager throughout his career in PHI and his first 5 years in KC. Another reality is that the Chiefs had won one playoff game in 25 years before Mahomes, with zero Super Bowl appearances and only one AFCC appearance since 1969. They now have 17 playoff wins in 7 years, and Mahomes' worst season is a loss in OT of the AFCC. And as a green player in his first season, Mahomes doubled the stats of the QB he replaced, who had put up career numbers the year before. I think it's ludicrous to say that the difference between Reid and Brady/Daboll is 5 Super Bowl appearances in 6 years. -
Allen vs Mahomes, is this a controversial take?
SaulGoodman replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Joe Brady's one of the best in the biz. Daboll was very good too. If someone has the opinion that Allen is the better QB, that's fine, and you can make a decent argument for it...but the idea that Mahomes has had everything a QB could ask for just isn't accurate. He's basically never been supported by a good running game, tackle play has been mediocre/poor for several years, his top receivers have been either weak or injured in recent years, the defense has been mediocre or bad more often than not in his career, and he had the worst LT situation in the league last year. -
They lost Reid, but I doubt that will cause them to take a few steps back. His replacement is talented and actually probably better in pass coverage. They also added a good vet corner and drafted a couple promising DL prospects.

Buffalo Bills 2025 Regular Season Schedule
SaulGoodman replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sacks are far more unpredictable and inconsistent than receiving yds. Again, the only point was that Rice had an elite start to the year. It was clear he'd made a solid jump in the offseason. Bottom line: Rice/Worthy/Brown/Smith-Schuster/Royals should be a very solid WR corps. The numbers don't matter. -

SaulGoodman replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's stating a fact. Through three games, he was on that pace. I never predicted what his final stats would have been or will be in the future. That said, nothing he did was flukey or gimmicky. With Kelce slowing down, Brown injured and Worthy needing time to learn, he probably would have put up big numbers. -

SaulGoodman replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didn't project anything. I just said he was putting up elite numbers before his injury. Bottom line is that he's very talented, and the WR room as a whole should be much better than what we've seen in recent years.
