So far WR group looks like a dumpster fire
UKBillFan replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s the Ravens defense which had the worse pass D record heading into week four, IIRC? -

In fairness, the Bills have been using motion and misdirection so far this season. I’m not sure where it disappeared to tonight. -
I agree that the Bills shouldn’t have won easily but, considering the Ravens’ performances so far this season, they shouldn’t have been blown out.

I got the point. But still no Super Bowl win. Yes, it is indeed possible they’ll bounce back. The division looks putrid this year with Tua down, the Jets struggling and the Pats being the current version of the Pats. The Bills should have a good chance of the play offs. Then what, a heroic fall akin to 13 seconds? Or being run over by someone like the Bengals or the Ravens? If the Bills were going to lose a game out of Ravens, Texans and Jets I wanted it to be this one. I really don’t want to lose to Diggs and the Jets, well, obviously. But the manner of the defeat was dreadful. Emotion will spill over (especially at 5:20am). Next Sunday cannot come soon enough. -

And how did the game against the Chiefs end…? -

Really? They hadn’t shown it up to now and, even tonight, it was more down to dreadfulness of the Bills than the greatness of the Ravens. -
Josh's bone-headedness did not help one bit. The changing of the guard thread was premature.

They got found out. No one came out of that looking good. Disgraceful all round. -
Diggs was needed when the Bills made that trade. I think having an experienced #1 WR did Josh a lot of good at that stage of his career. Him and Jefferson learning together may have worked but carried risk. And, even if they hadn't traded the first round pick, there's nothing to say they would have chosen Jefferson anyway. There's a balance to take. This year was the right time for Diggs to go but he did a lot of good for the team whilst in Buffalo.

Offensive and Defensive Philosophical Alignment - Finally!

Who was it who said the playbook was one of the most complicated he'd ever seen? Was it Murray? -
There's a reason why the media is pushing this all they can. Look what's coming up in ten days time.

Buffalo Bills: Elite early season team, year after year
UKBillFan replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
The odd thing about 2022 is something didn’t feel right even heading into the Bengals regular season game. The Bills were winning but it didn’t necessarily seem clean and clinical. And prior to Hamlin’s collapse, the Bengals were having their way with the defense - it had the feeling of a blowout. It’s the sane as last year. The Bills dominated weeks two to four, but there were concerns despite the easy victories. It felt like, after an awful week one, Josh had carried them through games. Did the offense look fluid and dynamic? No, not really. And it got too much for Josh to sustain under Dorsey. As much as it’s still early, something feels different this year. Less pressure on Josh, physically and mentally, and a varied offense being at the centre of it all. The next three weeks will be key, but heading into them it doesn’t feel like “The Emperor’s New Clothes” as last year did. -
Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes: The changing of the guard?
UKBillFan replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bit this is Mahomes all over - in the regular season he, more than often then not, just does enough. He ticks things over, looks a game manager, puts on a basic clinic but very rarely see “wow” plays. Then he goes off in the play offs. The Josh Allen experience in comparison, up to the start of 2024, has been a joyous rollercoaster. He has hit some brilliant highs, but some baffling lows, albeit he’s barely been at fault for play off exits, maybe 2022 aside but then everyone was bad and coming off a horrible year off the field, plus what happened to Hamlin. This season so far there is no question he is looking like the best QB in football but there is a long way to go, and I won’t be suggesting a changing in the guard until the Bills get over the hump and/or they beat the Chiefs post season. -
They would have expected to come out of the first three weeks with a 2-1 record at least. The Patriots and the Commanders at home? Yes, ok, the Chiefs were always going to be tough and a possible defeat, despite the ‘Burrowhead’ meme, but it’s a horrible start for them. With their defense in the state it is, the game against the Panthers may be another shoot out but not as confident that Dalton will be able to keep up with Burrow in the same way Daniels did.

How are we feeling about the next 3 weeks?
UKBillFan replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
The start of the season has been excellent but let’s temper it slightly. Two of the games have been at home and two of the three sides played have shown signs of being a bust this season due to their performances against others. Plus, last season, after a bad start against the Jets, the Bills put up 38, 37 and 48 between weeks two and four - then the offensive struggles started leading to Dorsey’s departure. There is no London trip this year, and there is no question that the offense looks even better than the early run in 2023 but one week at a time. Baltimore, Houston and the Jets all look beatable, but they have the talent to beat the turnover the Bills too. I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re sitting here after week six on 6-0 or 3-3, quite frankly. -
Ronnie Bell’s forgot how to catch. Jake Moody forgot how to kick. The Niners special teams gave up a big play.

The Niners are a mess.

That's his second of the day.

Thank goodness the Fins didn't start Boyle - they might be leading by now if they had.
-
Some survivor pools are going to be a mess after today - Broncos, Giants, Panthers...
-
Panthers have put up 33 points (XP to come) in Vegas.
-
Jennings is competiting with Nabers in a "Most spectacular catch" competition.
-
Normally I would say yes but not playing against the Ravens.

The refs are loving throwing flags against the Seahawks all of a sudden.
