The Rams offense looks putrid. Do they have anyone missing?

He almost cost them the game with that touchdown, albeit it may have been a play call. If so Taylor almost cost them the game. Let's see what the likes of Josh and Mahomes would do with that level of receiving talent as well. Surely that makes it more likely. "We have the best player in the world... and have to rely on the Giants and the Jags to beat the Colts, the Browns and Jets to beat the Dolphins and the Chiefs, possibly second string, to defeat the Broncos in Denver, whilst we go and win in Pittsburgh, to reach the post season."

I think (hope) they might be slightly more fired up this week. I think the team will want MVP for Josh which means no sleepwalking through the game. Hope so anyway. Watching Chargers-Pats tonight does show how poor the Bills as an entirety were last week.

Presuambly the Chargers will now pull their starters.

The Chiefs claiming the one seed was bad for the Bengals, but the Colts end the season at Giants and vs the Jags. I don't think they could have an easier run if they tried, especially after facing the Titans last week.

I think the Bengals will beat the Broncos. Looks like a face mask missed there.

Acho makes things up as he goes along. A couple of weeks ago he was saying team record is key, and is why he voted for Lamar last year. Suddenly he's not outright backing Josh.

That's how it's been presented by the experts. I was watching one clip this morning stating how great Lamar was despite only completing ten passes and running the ball four times.

I think it stands out that every debate this week has been focused on Josh v Lamar. Or just how wonderful, glorious and brilliant Lamar is. Barkley has barely been mentioned.

If that happens, I have no doubt Jackson will be MVP.

He's just gone to the locker room. I'm always entertained when Steratore is asked to explain why a flag wasn't thrown and he flannels the excuse (as long as it isn't against the Bills).

I think we may agree with each other to an extent, but the performance against the Jets has opened up the chance for people to push Lamar. If Josh had put in a performance akin to the Niners/Rams/Lions then it would be harder for them to cobble an argument together. As it is, it's easy to relay play after play from Lamar from the last week. In comparison, there were no plays from the Jets game. Again, recency bias. I can accept an argument of unconcious bias playing a part in the calls. Or, when it comes to Ryan Clark, a concious one. But the door has been opened, whether deemed fairly or unfairly.

I don't think the NE game is enough for Josh to lose MVP to Lamar, and the odds reflect that. But if he has another average at best game, considering Lamar has already (in the eyes of experts) played out of his skin against the Texans, it'll narrow further. And whatever happens tomorrow, anything but a Lions-like performance is likely to play into Lamar's hands. Either Josh will barely appear in week 18, or the Bills would have lost. Last year, perhaps no one played well enough to truly be awarded MVP, particularly QBs. Whilst Josh put the stats together, seeing his OC sacked plus the number of interceptions counted against him. This year, two players in particular have lit up the league. Only one can claim the prize.

I'd much prefer the Broncos to make it over the Colts. I do not want the Bills defense to have to handle Jonathan Taylor in the wildcard round, as much as they should still win.

For all the conspiracy theories about race etc. the biggest issue for Josh is he had an average game against the Jets whilst Lamar played lights out against both the Steelers and the Texans. Albeit Josh wasn't helped by his receivers last Sunday - if Shakir, twice, and Cooper had held on to those passes it may have been slightly different. But, as it is, it has really brought Lamar back into the equation. Recency is king.

Are you really being dismissive of the Ravens roster around Jackson and then trying to compare James Cook, as much as I like him, to Derrick Henry? As for porous defenses, the Ravens have allowed an average of 330 yards per game (edit: total - 248 passing and 81 rushing). In comparison, the Bills have allowed an average of 347.7 yards per game (edit: total - 229.5 passing and 118.3 rushing). So one is clearly more porous than the other.

I know I said it before but it's what will stick in my craw the most - if Lamar wins it this year, fine. I'd understand why. He's played lights out. I can go down the route of individual EPA, separation v accuracy, the roster around each QB, who is more valuable to their team but I'd get it. It would hurt as a Bills fan but I can see the argument for Lamar. Last year was team record pure and simple. Josh's record was 44 total TDs and 22 turnovers to Lamar's 29/13. Fifteen more TDs to 9 more turnovers. Then, stats didn't matter. To 49-1, which was a ridiculous result to reward someone MVP who had a, quite frankly, mediocre season. Last year still bugs me more and will bug me more than this year, even if Jackson is awarded it again.

I agree. It will depend on the make of the rosters. If they had to chose between the two, I can definitely see the likes of the Colts, the Eagles and possibly the Niners going for Jackson due to similarities in the way the roster is built. Plus I think Josh can be too off script for Shanahan. I think the Texans would definitely lean towards him too. The Chiefs would be a toss up. The likes of the Lions and Rams would go for Josh, again due to roster make up. It definitely wouldn't be unanimous, though.

Well Josh was hardly going to say, "We hated it and are concerned that our OC cannot control his emotions." Wasn't there a rumour doing the rounds about the players insisting that Dorsey stayed in the booth rather than being on the sidelines, because of his approach?

The issue is partially last year. Last year stats didn't matter - they came second to record. Now it seems like stats do matter. I think most just want the voters to be consistent, rather than meddle with their approach to get the result they want.

I'd have less issues in Jackson winning it this year than last year. Last year was farcical and most of my annoyance is with that. It feels like Josh is owed one.
