  1. The way many on this board seem to be so frightened about the mighty Patriots coming to town this Sunday, I don't how you'll make it through the week when much better teams like the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles come to town!
  2. Tre doesn't have the speed to keep up with quicker receivers but he's actually made several good tackles the last 2 games. He isn't playing great at this point in his career but we've seen a lot worse. One of the two pass interference/holding calls against him yesterday was ridiculous. Benford hasn't had a dominate start to the season but it's hard to really put a lot of stock into his performance when the d.line isn't generating pressure on the QB for large stretches of the game. Hoping Hairston is able to come back and play at some point and he will replace tre and add a speedier guy on the perimeter.
  3. What happened at Baltimore and at the Texans last year where Josh played about as poorly in a 2 game stretch as he has his entire career is what happens when a defense takes away the deep stuff and invites you to to take the short stuff but you refuse to take it. Last night is what happens when Josh is patient and takes what the defense gives him. This is exactly how the Chiefs passing game has looked for large stretches of time over the last several years. Fans get so enamored with 350 yard passing games but the only thing that matters is scoring one more point than your opponent and getting another W in the win column. Go Bills!!
  4. It's like a lot of people here are not able to apply any context to the offensive game plan last night. Miami was playing, for the most part, 2 high with a spy in the middle of the field. They were happy to give up the short stuff all night and Allen gladly took what they gave. Allen was patient and so was Brady. They didn't press and force turnovers like they would have in years past. This offense is showing it has the ability to adapt how it plays against any defense. To me, this is very encouraging. People need to RELAX!!
  5. agree 100%. Miami was playing a lot of 2 high looks with a spy in the middle, daring Allen to take the short stuff and hoping he would eventually get frustrated and press (hoping for an interception). Allen was patient ALL night and didn't force anything. That's the sign of a super mature QB. And I guess the only other 'deep pass' was the TD attempt to the back of the end zone for Kincaid. Perfect pass by Josh but the CB timed it perfectly to break it up.
  6. I feel sorry for all the fans in here who are having a miserable Friday because the defense didn't play better last night. LOL. It was a Thursday night game on a short week of practice. These games are ALWAYS sloppy and never a true reflection of either team. Both teams know each other very well also. A win is a win and the team is 3-0 and hasn't even scratched the surface of their potential...yet somehow still scoring 30pts a game. That has me super excited. That and the fact that we will soon have reinforcements for the defense including the guys who are injured right now. Let's go Buffalo!!!! TGIF!!
  7. Bills 42, Dolphins 17. end of story!!
  8. Didn't realize Cook had a hamstring injury during the game. I hope this isn't something that will linger. Anyone have any info on it?
  9. CJ Mosley is a guy on that defense who always seemed to give Buffalo fits. They still have an above average defense for sure, one capable of having big games, but Mosely retiring sure does make me feel a lot better about playing them this season. Go Bills!!
  10. According to 75% of the members on this board, this is a HUGE upset pick. Sunday night. Buffalo 27, Ravens 23!!
  11. Great points you make here. And I don't think we have the skill set on offense (receivers and tight ends) to get open often 1 on 1 or vs tight man coverage. This is a game where it will be HUGE for Brady to call a heck of a game plan and use motion and different schemes to get guys open. A chance for him to absolutely earn his paycheck right off the bat, and I think he is up to the challenge!!
  12. Benford hasn't practiced since August 21st. Not a huge deal as he was never gone to see snaps against the Bucs in the 3rd preseason game. He did make the field during the last practice last week and was seen doing some work with the strength and conditioning coaches which is normally a good sign. Maybe he pulled something or strained something or maybe the Bills are being overly cautious with him after the injuries to Harriston and White. Either way, we will find out for sure tomorrow but I'm optimistic he will be fine for Sunday nights game.
  13. I don't think I've ever seen this message board so down in the dumps and dreading the 1st week of the season like this, at least not under the current Josh Allen led Bills. The Ravens are a great football team, that much is a given. However, the last time I checked, so are we! The game is in Buffalo, James Cook will be fresh and ready to show off his newfound 'freedom, and the new editions to the D.line are ready to get after it! Last home opener at Highmark and it's Sunday night football as well. I can't wait to circle back to this thread after the win to make sure all the negative nancies are still with us! Buffalo 27, Ravens 20. Go Bills!!!!
  14. Facts. It's okay to criticize our offense sometimes. Some people here act like Josh is Jesus. Silly really.
  15. There are always a host of excuses each year after the Bills lose to KC in the playoffs. KC fans are loving this. I'm sure our tears are quenching their thirst.
  16. If i were a Utah Jazz fan back in the 90's,2000's, I would have used the exact same argument to say Buffalo was just as good as the Chiefs. That Stockton and Malone were just as good as Jordan and Pippen. No-one in their right mind outside the great state of Utah would agree with me but I suppose it would help me sleep better at night!
  17. We all wear rose colored glasses when we view our teams, some more than others. It's called fandom. Just helps to keep things in perspective sometimes. I hope Allen and Mahomes meet again this year in the playoffs and Allen is victorious. Would go a long ways to helping to get out of Mahomes shadow.
  18. All I'm trying to say is that crying about it and trying to mount any type of defense for Allen being a better QB that Mahomes is just plain silly and childish. Sadly there are more than a handfull of Bills fans and homers who will die on this hill no matter how it makes them look. We've had our chances multiple times and have not been able to get it done for a variety of reasons. That's all that matters. Hopefully this season will see new chapters written and in our favor!
  19. I don't agree with you but I appreciate your take. I'm just frustrated that we wine and cry and complain and fight to the death that Allen is better than Paddy. Until the hardware is equal or much closer, no one outside of some Bills fans will ever believe that or give any credit to that thought process. Just reality. I'm not overestimating anyone on our beloved Bills. I'm just tired of all the crying and complaining and whining that we do as a fan base lately. Go out in the playoffs and beat KC. It's as simple as that. Until we can do that, nothing else matters. None of this crying and comparing of qb's to one another is anything more than wasted time.
  20. Posts like this are why Bills fans are the laughing stock and the butt of many jokes over at Chiefs Kingdom. Circumstances don't matter in the end. Nothing is going to matter or change until Allen and the Bills finally beat KC in the playoffs AND win a Super Bowl. Yes, Andy Reid has certainly helped further Mahome's career to this point, but the same can be said in reverse. Andy couldn't get the job done in Philly with Mcnabb, TO, and Westbrook and the team decided to move on from him for a reason. Bottom line, both QB's are great and every team in the NFL would take Mahomes as their starting QB in a heartbeat and every team in the NFL would take Allen as their starting QB with the exception of one team. Narratives can be rewritten and revised and Allen and the Bills are still writing theirs now. Go Bills!!!!
  21. I don't think he is pushing any narrative here. Beane certainly has assembled a solid defense most years that generates a lot of turnovers and plays well for the most part during the regular season. They do tend to get shredded by high end qb's with regularity. Yes, most teams do not fair well against Mahomes and Burrow and the like, but those teams seem to get the better of Buffalo's defense year in and year out, regardless of the scheme. The defense as a hole also seems to get obliterated each year in the playoffs. That can't be attributed to injuries alone. The scheme of bend but don't break will never be good enough to get this team to the Super Bowl. It's just as simple as saying 'the defense does NOT pass the eye test in the playoffs'. You can talk about all the regular season stats you want, they are meaningless when it really counts.
  22. Yes we do. Last year the regular season dumpster fire game against the Ravens, when Shakiir went down the passing game turtled. I believe that's when they started looking at Amari Cooper. I would like to think the game plan will include a heavy dose of James Cook to control the clock but even that seems a little up in the air right now.
