  1. We've already got our slash: Mr. Jason Peters. He's an OT/TE/Punt Blocker/FB/doorstop. All we need is to split him out as a receiver and let him rumble downfield...HEY HEY HEEEEY
  2. the '99 Bills featured, um, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, and Bruce Smith, right? Just saying.
  3. I ain't gonna mess with the Cowbell. We're 1-0 since I switched!
  4. I was at that Jax game - it was THE play for Doug Flutie - I think that's when he won us over, as a city. He proceeded to lose big chunks of us later, of course. We had been 0-3 before that, right?
  5. All we're talking about is picks - is it conceivable to trade for a player? There'd be no cap hit for us, so we'd be able to move him pretty well, particularly for a guy who doesn't want to be somewhere. Say, Shaun Alexander skips town in Seattle. Travis Henry for the Franchised Walter Jones? If we could get him a decent contract, I think the guy wants to be out, there'd be no cap hits, and Henry would be a starter on a decent team. I'm not sure, since they franchised him three years in a row and seem to be happy to pay that tender. But still, something LIKE that.
  6. because one touchdown is less than the 17 points the Bengals have scored? You make an 81 passer rating sound like it's record-breaking - it's pretty damn average. 50% is worse than average. Under 200 yards is nothing special. No picks is good, not too many sacks. It's not a good game, it's a functional, effective day. He did what he had to do. But he didn't win the game. The defense and special did. That's all I'm saying.
  7. This hasn't been the best game he's ever played, and he has had trouble leading them to the end zone. So has Willis. They're winning on great defense and awesome special teams, and the offense isn't losing it for them, basically. The Ravens didn't win in spite of Trent Dilfer, he just didn't win it for them.
  8. Anyone? I don't think he's been criticized much if at all lately.
  9. I though Flutie called him E Moulds. He may have also called Kevin Williams (remember him?) K-Dogg. But my memory may not serve me correctly.
  10. What should happen is that the NFL should take over operations of the NHL, and create the National Football League of Hockey. 4 divisions of 4 teams in each conference (this may require expansion teams in Green Bay and Jacksonville), a hard cap that's a percentage of the total revenues, a 17-week season followed by intense and month-long playoff series, an all-star game after the season, and a major TV deal with Fox, CBS, and ESPN. Interference penalties would be called more strictly, opening up the offense, although defenses would tend to win big games in the playoffs. ...
  11. Resting your guys makes sense if you have a bye and there will be a momentum cut anyway. But I think vs. a playoff team that you could well see again next week, well, you need that extra bit of confidence. You bench your starters if you're 1 or 2, not 3 or 4
  12. There's no urgency to trade Henry unless we get value. At worst, he's an affordable backup running back who'll just leave after one more season - unless there's something more to Shaud WIlliams (might be) I think it's worth having a good backup RB. Stephen Davis and DeShaun Foster before they both got hurt, for example. These guys are pros, they can deal with it. Travis has been quiet - he likes his job, maybe?
  13. I'll admit it, I would have really liked to see Tom COughlin as the Bills coach. I'm really, really happy he proved to be an idiot in New Jersey instead of Buffalo. What is he doing over there - they were going to the playoffs before he put in Manning - what a disaster.
  14. a fourth round pick on a special teams player. Pshaw.
  15. And if you think Drew can't beat New England, I remember a game not too long ago where Drew's Bills sent the Patriots home without a point to their names, despite being coached by Kevin Gilbride and Gregg Williams. 31-0, Drew was flawless. That was the last time we played the Patriots without being a team with a losing record. Now, if we're 10-6, and just upset Indy or San Diego on the road in the playoffs, and thus on an 8 game winning streak, with Charlie Weis trying to find a few more Fighting Irish in the stands, are you certain that Bledsoe couldn't come up with the biggest win of his career?
  16. Idiot control seems to be working pretty well around here lately, Bart. Looks like a misfire - nothing to see here, routine mistake.
  17. Imagine if he had managed to haul in that broken field goal Brian Moorman pass - I didn't see it, but it sounded like only quick defense stopped that from being 44-7. Holy Moley
  18. Burns is a big Special Teams guy, so he's on the roster for that more than for rushing - but if you want to have 3 active HBs, yeah, Willis-Shaud-Burnsie
  19. Don't forget, TV is deadweight on this team. Three big plays? Sheesh, we could get that out of Luke McCown
  20. What about -12 total yards of passing? The TBD all-stars could probably manage 0.
  21. Honestly, I think that the Bills are not in a position to lose their Pro Bowl kick returner, and we shouldn't risk him at cornerback.
