  1. Explosiveness and pure brute strength....which are also Ed's best attributes.
  2. He was more than an impact player. For one game, he was peak Aaron Donald.
  3. This one is even more fun.... Dataroma @ffdataroma Keon Coleman separation metrics in Week 1, per @FantasyPtsData (min 10 routes): Separation Score: -0.049 (88th of 105 WRs) Route Win Rate: 0.0% (tied for last)
  4. My thought on the Coleman tipped td, it seems that Knox purposely tipped it backward. He knew he couldn't catch it, so he guided it toward the back of the endzone. That being said, I bet you're right.....he was probably throwing to Shakir.
  5. We root for two different teams. I like my team way better than you like yours. Enjoy the season (if you can).
  6. I'll keep it short and sweet. The Bengals haven't been in the playoffs the last two seasons. The Bills are 2-0 against the Ravens in the playoffs. So our roster "full of JAGS" and lacking in Blue Chip Players seems to be doing just fine. Your take on Brandon Beane being a mediocre GM wasting the prime years of the guy he drafted belongs to you and not to any semblance of the truth. You can keep it. And please remember it when this team ultimately climbs the mountain (which I'm guessing will upset you)
  7. You hold him in higher regard. I believe ESPN just ranked Burrow as the #1 QB in the NFL. I think he'd be just fine with Coleman and Kincaid. You speak as if both Coleman and Kincaid are bad players. I have high hopes for both.
  8. ngbills was talking about the first 3 rounds. Beane has to be one of the best day 3 drafters out there. That's where he got Taron Johnson, Christian Benford, Khalil Shakir, Ray Davis, Tylan Grabel, Wyatt Teller, SVP, Javon Solomon, Gabe Davis. And look out for Hancock, Deone Walker, Dorian Strong, Jackson Hawes, etc. In no way am I arguing that he doesn't have his misses. He does. But, and this is a tough one to grasp, two things can be true simultaneously. 1.) Beane has continually displayed a good eye for talent across the draft, free agency, and in trades. AND 2.) He's made some missteps along the way that he'd like to have back. But there's one thing we can't argue; The Bills have a top 3 record in the NFL since he took over. And don't give me the "It's all Josh Allen" crap. If that were the case Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert would be in the playoffs every year. And both of those teams struggle.
  9. Just so you know the big bad Chiefs in that same period; 2021: Traded a 1rst round pick for average Orlando Brown who is no longer on the team 2022: Drafted Sky Moore in the 2nd round 2023: Drafted Feliz-Anduike-I NEVER PLAY in the first round and Wanya Morris in the 3rd 2024: Drafted Kingsley Suamataia (barely saw the field last year) in the 2nd round And that's not to mention Claude Edwards Helaire in the first round the year before. As for home runs and triples, like the Chiefs, we have our hits. If Spencer Brown isn't a triple in the 3rd, and Cook isn't a triple in the 2nd, I don't know what to tell you.
  10. First 3 Rounds only The 2021 class yielded 2 key starters (Rousseau and Spencer Brown) and a miss in Boogie. The 2022 class yielded 2 key starter (Cook and T. Bernard) and a miss (Elam)-which was accounted for with a 6th round hit (Benford) The 2023 class yielded 2 starters (Kincaid, Cybo) and a key rotational player (Dorian Williams) The 2024 class is your this year's starting wide receiver and safety (Coleman and Bishop) and your DL5 who we'll call a miss. That's 8 starters out of 12 picks and Dorian Williams (one of my favorites). We pick near the last of each round. Round 3 picks are near #100. But narratives are fun and don't require facts.
  11. When he came into the league he was guarded, uncomfortable in front of the camera, had difficulty expressing himself, and seemed generally tense. Watching him now, https://www.buffalobills.com/video/ed-oliver-the-rookies-keep-me-young is like watching a completely different guy. He's aware that he's changed and speaks to it several times. From a human interest stand-point, I find his maturation fascinating.
  12. Ahhh....I need to reword my post. I was talking strictly from a personality stand-point. On field, I completely agree, he's been a mixed bag.
  13. I'm going with Ed Oliver. I love watching his press conferences these days. What a difference from his early years! He's honest, self-aware, thoughtful, and composed. Anybody else come to mind both currently or in the past?
  14. I agree....good house. With a good summer, could become a great house.
  15. I'm on Team Emmanuel Sanders. Such a cool interview and still enough juice on the field. Wish we had him in his prime.
  16. This is flat out laughable.
  17. It definitely depends on Beane's assessment. He has a 1rst round grade on Walker going into the season. It goes without saying that they didn't have anything near a 1rst round grade on Royals. As for Horton, he went before the Bills picked in the 5th.
  18. I get it, and appreciate your reply. Deone Walker in the 4th has 1rst round upside. If he hits, we have a monster. There was no receiver who has that kind of upside in the 4th. He also stated in his presser that they were ready to pick 2 wide receivers but both went off the board just before their picks. He knows better not to reach. He reached with Elam, and fans here will never let him off the hook.
  19. Why is a GM sharply defending his 13-4, two playoff victories, #2 offense in the NFL football team "losing control of his emotions"?
  20. It seems that some fans feel he intentionally ignored wide receiver. He did not. Look at their pre-draft visits, private workouts, etc. They knew there was a need. He also named two times during the draft where a WR was in play but picked right before their pick (my guesses; Kyle Williams in the 3rd and Tory Horton in the 5th). But he's not going to commit the cardinal sin of reaching. That's what they did with Elam and it was a disaster. I wanted a WR in the first 3 picks also. But a.) I trust Beane more than myself AND b.) Our defense sucked last year while our offense was elite. I'm glad Kyle Williams went off the board because they probably would have picked him. But there's a reason the draft room was celebrating with Landon Jackson. I'm excited about that guy (and so are they). A poster on this thread actually stated "I don't care how many points they scored last year." REALLY??!! That's like going to a restaurant and saying the food is great but you don't like the the cooking methods in the kitchen.
  21. Indeed to much of what you say. But Von was a real swing to get that guy. And now Bosa is the same (hopefully with a different result). Did you watch his presser? That's a guy who knows he can dominate. Only the greats are able to say what he said. And of course they're going to use a 1rst and 2nd on another piece. I disagree with Groot. I think he's worth every penny. It's not a stretch to say he's the best run stopping DE in the league. Ed is maddening. But if you can find the right pieces around him, he's definitely part of the solution...not the problem. Wish he was more Aaron Donald. He's not. Never will be. AJE--c'mon. A late 2nd round pick. He was never going to be great. I'm such a Beane supporter, it's hard for me to criticize him. That's because the team success speaks volumes. That being said, it's the WR position that I wish he was better at. With the D-Line, the way the draft and free agency has gone, I don't see too many guys he passed on. As for WR, AJ Brown, DK, Justin Jefferson, and Ladd could have all been Bills. But every gm passed on DK twice. and Beane was hell bent on finding a tackle in that draft to protect Josh. As for Jefferson, The Eagles took Jalen Reagor one pick before Jefferson and the Bills ended up with Diggs. So none of this easy. And there's a certain amount of luck involved in team building. But in Brandon Beane I trust!! That's my motto. He's better at this than me. He's better at this than most other GM's. I think he will find the right mix. To be the last team standing is an ultra-difficult feat. Fans who view non-championship seasons as failures view sports through a completely different lens than I do.
  22. Your common sensical, contextualized, nuanced, and unemotional point of view frankly has no place here!
  23. I know this tiring sentiment is the growing growl here on the message board, but it lacks nuance, and frankly...truth. Is Greg Rousseau a train wreck? Is Ed Oliver a train wreck? Was Leonard Floyd's tenure here a train wreck? Was the Daquan Jones free agent signing a train wreck? Harrison Phillips? Even the AJ Epenesa pick (end of the 2nd round with major busts all over the board before and after him) is at worst, less than a train wreck. Are you upset he got Joey Bosa this year? Von was injured. That's not a train wreck. Are you mad about the rotational guys. The Tim Settles and Jordan Phillips of the world? So, where are the train wrecks? Boogie Basham. For sure!! Dewayne Carter? Maybe. I fully acknowledge the line was crap last year. So does he. So he's doing whatever he can to fix it. I also acknowledge that you don't just snap your fingers and it's done. They draft near the end of the first round every year. They have a QB who eats up a ton of the cap. And he has to address every position on the field. He did build a team that went to the AFC championship game last year. And if a very good TE makes a catch that he should make, we might be talking about a parade, not an awful defensive line.
  24. Tell me about it. These mistakes are egregious!! Now if we were the Chiefs, then we'd be something. Even though they drafted; 1. CEH AND Felix Anudike Uzomah in the first round. 2. Skyy Moore, Breeland Sparks, and Kingsley Suamataia in the 2nd round 3. Traded a 3rd round pick for Kadarius Toney 4. Signed a replacement level right tackle (current off-sides artist Jawaan Taylor) to a 4 year 80 million dollar deal Every GM has these!! Every. Single. One. We went to the AFC championship game last year. It was no accident. They have good players. He picked, signed, resigned, and traded for those good players. Is he perfect? Of course not. But the Bills are drafting 30th. So he's more perfect than the other 29 teams. And don't throw the "it's all Josh Allen" BS at me. The Bengals have Joe Burrow (and Chase, Higgins, and Hendrickson) and they haven't smelled the playoffs the last two years.
