  1. Let's call a spade a spade. For the overwhelming majority of folks on this board this was a GREAT day! With another Bills' loss you can come on here and B word and moan about how bad this team is! HAPPY DAYS! Hooray for another week of endless posts about how TD sucks, MM sucks, Bledsoe sucks, McGahee sucks- hell, I'm surprised I haven't seen a post yet talking about how the Jills suck. For the majority of folks on this board a win today would have been a DISASTER. What would they be able to talk about for the next week if the Bills had won? Yes indeed, it was a GREAT day to be a Bills fan today as long as you are a member of TBD. Forget the fact that team showed that they can play with the best team in the league. Forget the fact that this team came out and made significant strides offensively. Forget the fact that, yet again, there were a number of horrendous calls that went the other way. Forget the fact that the man responsible for 2 Pat's TDs and numerous 3rd down conversions is our SECOND STRING SS. And most importantly, forget the fact that it was a damn entertaining game to watch. Instead let's focus on what we really love...THE NEGATIVITY! YAY!!! Let's talk about which teams we can 'adopt' and cheer for instead while TD takes this team down to Dante's second level of hell. Or perhaps we can make the assanine statment that the Bills are akin to the Arizona Cardinals (who couldn't draw a crowd even if they offered free lap dances from the cheerleaders). Or even better we can talk about we can't even look forward to a high draft pick since we foolishly wasted our pick on a QB who is injured. All I have to say is that I am glad that so many on this board find solace in the Bills losing. And I will weep for them when the Bills turn this thing around and they left with nothing to complain about. But hopefully by that time they will have found something new to B word and moan about, cause this negativity is killing this board.
  2. Let's see. The man pulled us out of salary cap jail, rebuilt our defense to keep us in every game while we rebuilt, made several moves to give us our future tripplets with Evans, Lossman and McGahee...yeah, he's a REAL bust. Is he perfect? No. But he has done a helluva lot of good.
  3. You're joking right? You are honestly going to come on here and blame JP's broken leg on TD?
  4. My brother and I will be there in 129 and we're tailgaiting in the Fieldhouse lot. Bills will win 27-17
  5. Money changes everything. It's easy for a pitcher to say he wants to stay with his team. But let's see how they feel when the Sox, Yanks, Dodgers etc are offering a fat multi-million dollar contract.
  6. Not to weird you out or anything, but I just fell in love with you.
  7. Shhh! Redsox fans don't wish to hear the truth---er, I mean those statistics
  8. Anytime:) Glad to contribute in some way to this board:)
  9. Here's this week's article by TKO... http://sports.ign.com/articles/552/552289p1.html
  10. I think the only thing that prevents Drew from being the starter on opening day in '05 is a 0-16 season. The way his contract is set up, they are pegging him to start for 2 years (this year included) and let JP learn on the same road that Pennington learned. With JP's injury, it may have cemented that thinking because I find it highly unlikely that JP even sees the field this year. The only way he would have seen it would be if Drew was hurt or if they fall completley out of contention. But now with Mathews on board there is no need for JP to play. Afterall, why would they risk the future's health? Had he not broken his leg, it might be a different story. But I suspect that the coaching staff will let JP practice this year but not put him into the fire. Frankly, I would be mad if they did. I think if the Bills manage to string together a couple wins here and there this year, and Drew continues to perform okay (he hasn't been BAD yet, he just hasn't been good. He is certainly improved from last year) he will go into the season as the starter. He will be on a short leash though in 05. Just my opinion though.
  11. Hahahaha! Cause he's white... Now THAT'S comedy.
  12. A couple things you are losing sight of, in all respect Ice. First, it is a brand new coaching staff. Sometimes it takes two years for teams to adjust to the new scheme. With our (mainly) veteran offense, and the fact that MM's system is simply a revision of Gilbrides, I hoped that said adjustment would be faster. I still don't expect it to take the full season, but it seems it will take a couple more games. Moulds (fumbles aside) has been our ONLY weapon and has performed VERY well. He is getting good separation, he is making plays while other WRs (See: Reed) are dropping passes and Evans isn't getting open. EM is a one man show right now. If we lose him, we have ZERO passing game. Drew has played much better than last year. His completion percentage is up (even with an obscene amount of drops) and sacks and turnovers are down. With JP not being an option (at ALL) this season, why even bother with Shane Mathews? You can't trade Drew to get anyone better...so we are stuck with him. And frankly, considering our options, that is okay by me. Henry is a bruiser and does get knicked up. But he also has had over 1300 yards the last two years. He has had the misfortune of playing the two best run defenses in the league to open the season. He will be over 100 yards on the Pats. But even if he's not, we need 2 good backs. If we lose Henry, we have one. Who are you going to turn to if Willis goes down? Williams??? The fact is that its 2 games. Let's not cash in yet. There is a lot of football to be played.
  13. I hear what you are saying, I do. But do you think there are gems on the bench that can do better than these three guys? There isn't. If you lose one, okay maybe you can get by. You lose two, you are screwed. You lose all three, you will have no weapons at all left to use. You would be forfiting the season by doing those moves. And I am not ready to give up on the season when there are 14 games left...
  14. If you think the offense is bad now...imagine what it would be like without EM, Henry and DB Lossman is out till week 12. And when he comes back, they aren't going to throw him into the fire. Only a total maroon would do so. He is your franchise's future and he is recovering from a broken leg...you don't throw him in behind a suspect OLine just to "groom him". If he were healthy, it would be different. But he's not. He won't see the field this year, mark it down. So where does that leave us? Oh yeah, with Shane Mathews . He has never been a winner in this league so he is a step down from Drew (maybe a small one, but still a step down). Then you want to move Henry too? Willis does not have his burst back yet. It may never come back...and while he is a capable runner right now, he is not nearly as explosive as Henry at the moment. So with Henry gone, we would have virtually no running game and be forced to rely on our passing attack. Oh, but you traded Moulds, which means that Evans has to be the man. Too bad WRs take 3 years to develop. Right now DBs are reading ALL of Evans routes faster than you can read a fortune cookie. So with no EM and Evans locked up, we have Shaw, Reed and our stellar TE's to carry the passing load. And you think Tampa's offense is bad???? Wowzers, that is an 0-16 team in the making right there. Here's the truth of the situation: The Bills aren't as bad as people think. And the Bills aren't as good as some had hoped. The truth lies (as always) in the middle. Face it, this team is a couple breaks away from being 2-0. Does that make it any better? No. They still need to show up on Sunday and play. But the fact that they played tough and lost to two teams that are 5-1 should be a sign that perhaps there is some hope left in this VERY young season. Proposing that the Bills dump their three biggest offensive weapons before the season is even A QUARTER OF THE WAY THROUGH is insane. Why cripple our weakest unit even more when we haven't even seen them play to their full potential yet this season? Please take a deep breath and settle down. Things will be okay.
  15. Exactly. Rogers is not a star. He is probably done for his career. Collar bone injuries are devistating AND reoccuring. He's done. And it's a shame cause he could have been something special. As the saying goes, nothing is more dangerous than potential. Also, how can you jump all over the Bills for taking two RBs and give the Lions a pass for taking another WR with their first pick? That's a little hypocritical/oversensitive isn't it?
  16. I love Survivor and always watch...though it usually takes me 3 or 4 episodes to really get into it since I have to figure out who's who etc. But I agree, they definitley stacked the female team with a bunch of hotties although I'm not big on the fake boobs and it seems like EVERY chick this year has 'em...even the older ones Not that I was looking...
  17. Wow...a chill just went down my spine after reading this thread. I just realized that most fans on here have become exactly like the Redsox Nation. Sure they cheer their team, but deep down they honestly believe they CAN'T WIN. Hell, in fact they really don't even WANT them to win. Afterall, if they won, what would be left to B word about? That is not a very fun way to root for your team. I think I'll pass on that sentiment. Good grief. I feel sick.
  18. It was a busted draw play. It wasn't like it was a dive play that he just screwed up. It was an awful call at that point in the game. Still, Travis is our best back at the moment...
  19. In my humble opinion (echoing that of many on this thread) TD will be the GM of this team as long as RW is still around. RW loves him...and why shouldn't he? As team president, TD has worked magic to keep ticket sales and revenues high. The Bills are very profitable right now and we haven't had a winning season in far too long. So imagine how profitable they will be once we start to win! Ralph made TD his guy and will stick with him till the end. And frankly...I'm okay with that. I know there is a lot of TD bashing on this board, but I like him.
  20. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Bills will win Oct. 3rd. Here's why: 1) We're better than our 0-2 record. 2) No one (even our own fans) expects us to do it...and since this is the NFL there has to be one major upset each week...why can't it be us?
  21. We'll see how the Jets do when they face a real defense. They haven't so far. They can put up points but they can't stop anyone. I'm not as confident that we can get the sweep, but that is due more to our ineptitude at the moment than the Jets' prowess. I say we will at LEAST split with the Jests and take 2 from Miami. I still say was can finish 4-2 in the AFC East
  22. LoL! Was waiting for someone to chime in with that one
  23. It's not a bad move at all.
  24. This year? None... I take solace in the fact that Philly and NE both were 0-2 last year and wound up playing very well...and oh yeah, they looked really bad in their first two games as well. There's still a lot of games left to play this year. I'm with ya NG.
