1. Hurley appears as chubby as when they crashed. You'd think he'd be losing some weight. From the first episode, I thought to myself that it would be interesting to see how they handle that.
2. Maybe they are going to end up connecting everyone in some way. We already saw Sawyer and Boone cross paths in the police station in Australia.
3. I'll pay attention to this when she is a has been and posing for Playboy in a "Girls of the Bachelorette" pictorial.
4. There was a funny reference to the BBC show The Office thrown in. That English girl said her dad was off "buying a paper company up in Slough". If you know that show, it was a nice nod. I was pissed that Charlie killed Ethan. There was stuff we needed to know. Sayid would have stuck bamboo reeds in his fingernails and he would have sung like a canary. But, it was good to see Jack deliver the beatdown. I was surprised Ethan fell into the trap so easily.
5. And it was so long ago too. It's ancient history.
6. It isn't on the WKBW website yet. You would think it would be since this is big.
7. Couple of other observations from last night... That dude Ethan was such a freak. He had a real Hannibal Lechtor look to him. And again, nice job by Charlie. So, we find out last night that Claire was gone two weeks. After the first couple of days, seems like the only person who gave a crap was love-sick Charlie. Everyone just went on about their business while one of their own remained kidnapped by a maniac. Of the three Lost hotties, I gotta give it up for Kate as #1. Not only does she have a smoking bod, but those damn freckles are so freaking cute! Lastly, looks like Sawyer and Kate may be getting busy next week. Isn't amazing how the !@#$ always gets the girl? 234578 There was a funny reference to the BBC show The Office thrown in. Kate is the best. The blonde chick is to skanky. Unfortunately, the badboys always attract the girl. Looks like it will go down next week.
8. You ever read "Gerald's Game"? That was one creepy novel.
9. I think there was a nike base over in Hamburg too. They shut it down and gave it to the town recreation dept. There werr lacrosse and football fields and a hockey rink where I used to play. I remember the roof of the rink used to open and close. There were all kinds off odd things still all over the grounds like old radar emplacements and bunkers. I think NF air base has a tanker wing now. They are deplyed in Iraq or Afghanistan right now, I think. It was in the paper a while back.
10. I agree as well. It was a very unremarkable and bland game with a predicable outcome. That is the hallmark of these Patriots. But, I'll give them respect. they are one solid team if they aren't flashy.
11. I, for one, would feel a lot easier if there were some local ownership possibilities for Buffalo. As one no longer in Buffalo, maybe a resident on TSW knows, are there any? I remember hearing that Gosliano (sp?- the Sabres owner) might be interested, but would never discuss it publicly while Ralph is still kicking. Anyone out there who can confirm or deny the rumour? From what I understand (again I may be off), he is a billionare, wealthier than Ralph. I remember when he baught the Sabres, he was said to not necessarily be the most avid NHL fan, but was committed to keeping the economy/sports traditions alive in the WNY area. 229035 Buftex, don't forget the Jacobs. They have the deep pockets to buy the team too.
12. Fox, who plays Jack, said the cast is kept in the dark and they don't even know what is going on from week to week. He said he heard of the Purgatory theory (they are all dead and haven't passed) and he said it's a pretty interesting one. He really had no clue it seemed. He ventured some theory about a transferrable something or other.that made no sense at all. He looked like he might have been hopped up on some sort of goofball.
13. I can't imagine many schools will allow any girls to wear that through the door. If your date wears that, I'd think you'd have a decent chance you will be rounding the bases that night.
14. I agree with KWE. I think it would be good step towrad the regionalization of the team and expansion of the fanbase. Think about it, those late season, meaningless games often only draw 45,000 people. I would say this merits some consideration. If we are very intertwined with WNY and Ontario, that's more money for the team in radio and TV. We'd truly be Canada's team too. I'd be interested to hear the NFLs proposal before we spit up our beers and kick the dog.
15. We haven't had a "fear LA" post in a while. It was due. LA will probably get an expansion franchise. I have friends working toward that in LA now. The 3 possible franchises are the Colts, Vikings and Chargers. All teams with questionable stadium situations. McCombs is mainly making noise with the hopes that they build a new stadium in Minnesota. They are a long shot to move. The Cards are getting a stadium right now. My friend down there said the Colts are the most likely move, if they go the existing franchise route. We'll be fine. Buffalo isn't in consideration.
16. Jon Stewart's show is totally differnet than the other shows. It's a fake newsshow. There is no monolougue and his interviews are short and very secondary to the show. So it's a different animal than the others. If you saw his Wednesday night show, you would realize that he is by far and away the best thing going on the late night thing. Even the other guys would admit that Stewart is now edgier and funnier and in many ways more relevant. Letterman is the best of the traditional late night hosts, he's starting to mail it in, though. I would guess that maybe 25% of the people that voted here have seen Stewart more than a few times and the many haven't watched at all.
17. The Daily Show is the best show on late night.
18. I was there a few years back for the Super Bowl. It was the best day of weather. 80 and sunny and no humidity.
19. I was in college at a Super Bowl party at an off campus house. I was the only Bills fan. I hated the game, I really hated Michael Jackson and his awful halftime show. I hated the th Cowboys (especially JJ). Many of the people at the party sucked. It was a dark day. Luckily, I didn't do anything irrational.
20. Crissy Field is a must. That's one of my favorite placesa to go in the city. I like to run there. You start at Marina Green and go al lthe way to the bridge (and the fort). In fact, I might do it later as the weather is nice.
21. This is my favorite Italian place. It's in North Beach, near where I live. I highly recommend it. http://www.trattcontadina.citysearch.com/
22. They would never have the game in Oakland either. Evan with San Francisco close by. Oakland and Buffalo would be the 2 last place finishers for the voting committee.
23. I know we never will. It was hypothetical. Buffalo would be dead last in places chosen. Lambeau would come before Buffalo.
24. You'll have to stop in the North Star to catch a game with the Bills Backers. I can recommend some restaurants. You have a hotel picked out?
25. That is the major obstacle. Jacksonville didn't have them either, but they got around that by bringing in those cruise ships. I'm certain the Love Boat wouldn't be pulling into the sunny port of Buffalo t rescue us, so we woule have to rely on Niangara Falls which is 30-40 mintues away. They do have the rooms, IF you count the Ontario side (have you seen the hotels that have gone up in the past 5 years?). That is a big big if. Peopele wouldn't want to cross the border, there would be busts of all kinds, bridge traffic etc etc. Plus, the staduim is actually in OP. Another headache for the Rome's and Simmons of the media world. It's just one inconvenience after another. No amount of cheap Canadian beer could cure it.
