  1. http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c...BAGIIBSTMA1.DTL They don't have Columbus Day in Berkeley. They celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day. They all lament that the Indians were pushed out. Of course, that would mean that they wouldn't be living in their multi-million dollar homes, but that doesn't seem to occur to them. Stuff like this makes me want to go over there and choke a few people.
  2. He is fun to watch, but he is not a social guy. Probably one of the most selfish people you'll ever hear about. I'm an A's fan anyway.
  3. That year is crucial to his quest for the homerun record. This is just grandstanding. He wants some sympathy. It's the equivalent to Michael Jackson going to the hospital on the way to court.
  4. Yeah, most of the building were made of chiken wire and cheap siding. They were only made for the expo. The Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society building was the only one made of stone. They had a similar kind of expo here in San Francisco long ago and they did the same thing. There is only one building left from that one too. http://www.sanfranciscomemories.com/ppie/buildings.html
  5. Great time of year to be moving back to Buffalo. I'm headed to Florida tomorrow (Cocoa Beach).
  6. There are a bunch of bands today that feature lead singers with a whiny nassally voices. I can't stand that. I can't name any band names cause they all sound alike and will be gone after one overplayed hit. There are a bunch of bands that consider themselves to be "indie" bands out there today. Independent of what? Talent? Sum 41 (to name 1 of a thousand) comes to mind. Also, can't stand when record companies sell gansta thug music to middle America. Fifty Cent "He's right out of the hood! He got shot 9 times! Buy this CD!" is a good example. I can just see the marketing suits sitting around brainstorming how they will get him into the mass market. My rant is done.
  7. Garcia will end up starting in Detroit. Mariucci probably has his "your benched" talk ready for Harrington.
  8. It's gotta be the Bills. Who would want to be in Detroit?
  9. Orchard Park/34/San Francisco
  10. ****SPOILER**** I saw a bunch of stills from the movie. The one of Anakin after he gets pulled out of the lava is good. He's all burned up and a mess.
  11. The lightsabre fight was the best part of the first one. The pod race was good too. They could have used much more of Darth Maul. It was criminal that he was killed and Jar Jar lived on. This one looks like the movie that we were all waiting for. The space battle looks spectacular.
  12. Denison University in Granville, OH. Smack dab in the heart of it all.
  13. I'd say it would be the Cards, Raiders or the Saints. A team that doesn't draw that well. The Cowboys would be the natural fit. They are kind of considered the de facto team of Mexico (just like the Bills are kind of considered to be Canada's team). I don't think Jones would give up a game. Unless he was given lots of $$$. That guy would sell his mom out if he got a great deal. I don't know on the Raiders. If they played one game there, Al might claim all of Mexico as Raider territory.
  14. Grievous will be the best character in this thing. If Darth Maul had been around for the Epis. II it would have been at least 50% better. I am not a geek.
  15. Looks very good. I've seen some stills from it too. This should redeem the 2 lackluster episodes.
  16. I'd moonwalk into court and serenade the judge with a little PYT.
  17. It could be 30 years before either happens. I'd say if there is a chance in the near future, the Bills have the edge. They are close to being a contender. The Sabres, prior to the lockout, were a very young and laregely inexperienced team that showed some promise, but they were further away. Hard to believe how close both teams got at one point with Wide Right and No Goal. Rats.
  18. I'm going with Thurman...today. This is too hard. Tomorrow, it could be Kelly. I waiver on this. Tasker and Talley are up there. The current Bill I admire most is Eric Moulds.
  19. I' wouldn't root for them and I'd stop watching the NFL altogether.
  20. Has an impressive cast. I understand they gave Romero the budget he wanted to really get it done to the full extent of his vision. The Dawn of the Dead remake made a good deal of profit and I think it will really help generate interest for this film. There was a good article by a Buffalo reporter about going to Toronto and being an extra in this. They also had the guys from Shaun of the Dead as special guest zombies too.
  21. I'm really lookign forward to that one: http://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movies/twilight.php
  22. I know Kit. She is married to a buddy of mine. She is one cool lady.
  23. Yeah- when they are walking down the beach. Played by the DJ you never see (except for the lips). Good song used well.
