  1. Then it’s either Allen or the coordinators that’s the problem. If it’s Allen, then we all better hope this is anomaly because we have a lot of money tied up into him.
  2. If you want to concentrate on the division first, fine. But my eyes are on the super bowl and in order to get there you have to go through the Chiefs. If you have to worry about securing your division, then forget about beating the Chiefs. Just start looking for better talent or coordinators. Right now it’s all about Mahomes. Mahomes is king of the AFC castle until he isn’t. If Allen can’t beat Mahomes with the current talent we have, then we have to keep building. It sucks that is the case, because I thought Allen would be the type to elevate the talent that is around him, but early indications seem to indicate he’s going to need prime talent to beat KC.
  3. This is reasonable and I agree with this take. I don’t think many of us are to far apart where we are coming from. I honestly don’t think I fully believe our WRs are the issue, but just mad because Allen threw for 51 passes and nothing much to show for it, considering QBs today had half the amount of attempts for similar or more yardage. Obviously they weren’t playing against a Pitt D, but still it really hurts to know that. Kelly had bad games, so I supposed it’s only normal for Allen to have a bad game or 2. I just sucks watching Mahomes, Brady, etc having great games after great games, I just want Allen to be great like that. Maybe he won’t be, I guess we will find out. But my eyes tell me he is elite and eventually will be extremely dangerous when he puts it all together. He has such a high ceiling. I don’t care about all those other teams. It’s about beating the Chiefs, nothing else matters because they are the biggest threat to get through. We aren’t doing enough to beat them. That’s the main issue I have. It’s like dealing against the Patriots all over again. Just win a super bowl, if we need more talent, then get it.
  4. Yeah, I’m not concerned either, just mad. We should be beating teams like Pittsburgh. After all we have top 5 talent supposedly. So if that is the case then why are our coaches underperforming. Some are saying we have subpar trench talent, if that is the case then why is our talent evaluations underperforming. Right now, we all can’t even agree where the blame lies. Great historical teams dominate, and they win a lot of games, some even go undefeated. So struggle fests like today hurt, it makes it feel like we aren’t a great historical team, especially when we beat Pittsburgh last year fairly decisively.
  5. I get it, and I’m not really overly concerned, just mad. I still feel we are playoff team and a super bowl contender. But that isn’t good enough, it’s super bowl or bust and right now that road goes through teams like Pittsburgh, KC, Titans, GB, TB, AZ, etc. If we can’t beat those teams in the regular season, it’s going to be equally hard or harder to beat them in the post season. I’m just tired of the excuses, I just want a super bowl. We either get better talent in here or better coordinators/coaching or talent evaluators. This is the last free pass year for me.
  6. Then we have a talent evaluation issue and not coordinator/coaching issues. Then Beane should be getting more heat than he is. Someone needs to be blamed. Nobody wants to be accountable anymore. With Allen money tied up, even with expanding cap, our elite talent acquisition is going to be limited to mostly the draft. So either Beane starts building up the trenches, or we need to fix the issue while we still have prime Allen.
  7. I’m just frustrated. Today’s loss was a tough one considering we just trounced on them last year. It feels like coaching is the main issue, but I don’t know. Allen has no excuses either with the talent surrounding him, but the play calling isn’t doing him any favors. We have a good D and a good O, so today hurts more than it otherwise should.
  8. But we see subpar talents win Super Bowls. See Trent Dilfer. Brady had marginal WRs for a lot of his career. We already signed Allen long term, so no turning back now. If Allen can’t win a super bowl this year or next, it’s time to start thinking Allen needs Elite WRs to win and plan accordingly. Tampa Bay has the most elite WR core in the NFL. If you truly believe this, then there is no excuse not to win a super bowl correct? If you have top 5 talent, then the issue is either Allen or coaching. We need to figure it out after this year, because Mahomes isn’t going to get any worse.
  9. I’m willing to give benefits of the doubts, considering how awful we have been for over a decade. But ultimately playoffs don’t mean jack, only super bowl wins do. Failure to win is a fail just as much as a 0-16 season. Either bring in better talent or bring in better play callers. No more all roads lead through me talk, cause if you want to talk like that, then the hammer needs to fall eventually. This year is my last free pass. If no major adjustments are made this offseason to bring a super bowl if we don’t win one this year, things need to be shaken up via coordinators. If that doesn’t solve anything, then McDermott needs to start taking accountability.
  10. You guys are so disingenuous sometimes. If we aren’t winning Super Bowls blame has to be put somewhere. 1. Not good enough talent. 2. Not good enough coaching. Figure it out, because I don’t want to watch Mahomes own us for a decade or more.
  11. LOL we will never find out about it, we will all have to speculate on here and make determinations if we think McDermott is fit enough to bring us a super bowl. If its a talent issue, we need to bring in better talent, if its coaching issues, then we need new coordinators. If we aren’t winning Super Bowls, they need to figure it out.
  12. Then why can the Steelers outperform us with lesser talent? Does that mean we have inferior coaches? Or is Ben playing better than Josh? If that is the case, then if Josh can’t get us the big W, how much supporting talent does he need to make that happen? Considering we are now tied up big money with him, our top talent acquisitions are probably limited to drafts.
  13. Which I already knew this, so I have only myself to blame for clicking on the link and putting myself through that torture. I apologize, I guess it’s unreasonable to expect greatness and reasonable explanations and corrective actions.
  14. I’m not expecting him to divulge team secrets, but his canned responses are like nails on a chalk board. It’s best to not even interview him at this point. He could of said Allen needs to find his open receivers, or O line needs to block better, but nothing. Even if he presents what he perceives as an issue, what is he going to do to correct it? Get better talent? Yell? More drills? I hate coach speak, it does nothing to instill confidence. I have high standards, I want super bowls, if we aren’t getting them, then we need better talent evaluators or play callers or coaches.
  15. I honestly don’t understand why they even bother having these press conferences. McDermott never gives a straight answer. All roads lead through him blah blah blah. It’s time he does some hard inspection into why we are struggling against harder competition. Is it talent, or is it coaching (play calling). If it’s talent, they have nobody but themselves to blame, because they didn’t do enough to bring in play makers. If it’s coaching, then they have nobody to blame but themselves because they continue to employ play callers that aren’t fixing the issues. While I don’t expect to go undefeated, I don’t find it acceptable what happened today. There is no reason why Allen passing 51 attempts yielded the results that it did with the surrounding talent that we have. We need to find ways to get these players in space if Allen is under pressure or roll him out. I’m getting tired of McDermott’s answers.
  16. I do NOT like McDermott’s canned responses. He always says it starts with me and I need to get better. No **** , the only way to get better is to get better talent, or utilize the talent that you have to better strategies. Obviously they don’t think Allen is the main problem, because they just backed up the binks truck. So is it the play calling McD or is it not good enough WRs/TE? I’m tired of him beating around the bush and hopefully he has a deep conversation with Daboll because quite frankly it’s unacceptable to get out played with the amount of talent we have on this team. Other teams are doing more with less, imagine if they had our roster. Constantly watching coaches like McVay and Shanahan get maximum production out of average talent, same with Belichick to some regards. If he thinks this fan base is going to just be happy with playoff runs and no Super Bowls, he has another thing coming.
  17. My only question is, is it the coaching or the talent that is the issue? We have Allen, Diggs, Sanders, Beasley, Davis and a good D with not many holes. We underperform at times during big moments. This team needs to seriously sit down and ask some tough questions. If the coaches are unwilling to diagnose the issues, then I don’t want them around here for long. I don’t care how many playoffs they take us to, if they can’t win when it matters, I want other coaches who can get us there. If we fail to go deep in the playoffs this year and still don’t get in the super bowl, then McDermott either needs to add more talent, or start looking for other coordinators to get us the Lombardi, because 14 win seasons don’t mean jack if you can’t bring home the title. To me there is no difference between a 14 win team and a 2 win team, both failed at accomplishing the only thing that matters in football. Either get better or start looking for jobs.
  18. It’s Daboll, he is the weakest link along with 2CB. Look what McVay does with Stafford, look what Shanahan does with Garoppolo. Imagine if they had Allen to work with.
  19. I’m so happy for Stafford, he finally gets to play with an offensive genius. Wish we had a McVay.
  20. I’m actually really happy for Stafford. He finally get’s to play with an offensive genius. I’m a firm believer that if you paired Allen with Shanny or McVay, he instantly becomes a super bowl favorite.
  21. Allen is without a doubt one of the best QBs in the league. Bad QB performance or not, the OC needs to recognize what is and what isn’t working with in game adjustments. Daboll rarely does. If you see Josh is under duress, call some screens or designed rollouts. It’s inexcusable on Daboll’s part and he infuriates me more than anyone during this game. I honestly hope we replace him.
  22. For some it doesn’t matter. Rodgers throws them every game. But generally I agree, it’s best for man coverage. Allen needs to study Brady then, because Brady destroys zone coverages. For some QBs it doesn’t matter, Ben was throwing over the middle all game today.
  23. I honestly hope Daboll leaves after this year. I think our offense could be even better than it is, which is a scary good thought. I think Daboll is holding us back.
  24. How many times did we watch Big Ben throw it over the middle to JuJu, Claypool, or his TEs. Either Josh is afraid to throw these passes, or his WRs aren’t physical enough to win these throws, or Daboll isn’t play calling them. How many times do we watch Rodgers and Ryan throw slant after slant? I’m not sure who is to blame for this, because we rarely see it. Watching the Steelers passes today was night and day with route selections.
  25. What I don’t understand is we never attack the middle of the field. Slants don’t exist. Anything over the middle is a Beasley button hook or a curl.
