  1. No, I just want accountability. I want to win super bowls. I’m tired of being embarrassed as a Bills fan. I love my Bills and it hurts to know we haven’t sniffed a super bowl for various reasons. If we can’t beat KC and other elite teams then we need better talent or better talent evaluators or coaches. No more being happy to just have a team in Buffalo.
  2. It is one game, but I’m tired of giving McD and Beane easy passes. We couldn’t beat Tennessee or KC either. If they fail to do it again this year, then we need to seriously rethink strategy or talent evaluations, because Mahomes is going to be here for a while.
  3. If we need players to execute better all the time against top teams, then we don’t have elite talent. Simple. People say top 5 WRs this or top QB that. How can that be true if they can’t execute well? It’s either the talent isn’t being put in good positions to win tough games or we don’t have enough talent. Which is it? How is it that people like McVay are 38-0 while leading at the half with less talent than us?
  4. McVay is 38-0 with a lead at the half. How is it that other coaches can be so competent with less talent than us? Is Geoff and Stafford better than Allen? I don’t think so, so it tells me coaching/play calling is the issue.
  5. McVay is 38-0 when leading at the half. The Rams have overall less talent than we have. How is it that they over perform given the talent they have compared to us? If anyone comes to the conclusion that Allen isn’t a top 5 QB, then why did we pay him top 5 money? So many questions, but nobody is interested in breaking it all down into details here.
  6. Elite coach and play caller. I could only dream to have such a coach coaching up Allen.
  7. The difference is coaching/play calling. Payton is a good coach. I’m truly beginning to wonder if it’s Allen/WRs/or just coaches. It seems like it’s coaching at this point. Talent is there.
  8. Josh also holds onto the ball near the top in the league. Is this because WRs aren’t getting open, or because Josh can’t find open receivers enough to get the ball out in time? If Josh is having a hard time finding open receivers, is he really a top 5 QB? We just watched Ben find receivers despite all but 1 new linemen. So you can’t really argue our offensive line was an issue. Same with Brady, he gets the ball out quickly. I honestly keep thinking Allen is elite, but the more you ask these kind of questions, you begin to have doubt. Coupled all this with missed wide open down field WRs, and you start going hmmm. I think Allen will eventually put it all together, but let’s hope so because we are paying him elite money to be elite, not average or a good QB.
  9. I want to branch this off from the Bills offense because I believe it deserves it’s more technical discussions here. So obviously it all starts with a great QB, but how much blame does a great QB get vs WRs or offensive play callers. At some point blame has to be placed. So let’s start here. True/False Great QBs can win with average receivers? True/False Great QBs can win with average OCs? True/False Great QBs can overcome average or bad defenses? Is Allen a top 5 QB? Are Diggs/Beasley/Sanders/Davis a top 5WR group? Is Mahomes a top 5 QB? Are Hill/Hardman/Robinson/Kelce a top 5 WR group? Is the Bills defense better than KC’s defense? If yes, then why can’t we beat KC? Do we need better receivers to outscore Mahomes, or do we need better defense to stop Mahomes? If yes, who is to blame for the talent shortfall? Offensive/Defensive play calling or Beane? Im curious to see what everyone here thinks about where the main issue lies.
  10. I suppose. Maybe I wouldn’t feel the way I do today if the Bills would have a super bowl under their belts. We have sucked for so long. It just hurts knowing we have to get through Mahomes to even have a shot after dealing with Brady for years. Just win. If we can’t win, then McDermott better find a way to make it happen. No more being happy just for making the playoffs.
  11. I’m not expecting to be perfect, although it would be nice considering other great teams have done so. Great teams find ways to dominate everyone at all times. It just means we aren’t great. We should be though with the talent we have. We should be making teams cry and wiping their distraughted bodies over their pool of tears. Not embarrassed by teams we should be beating. I’m tired of being an embarrassed Bills fan. I want the Bills to be the 85 Bears, absolutely feared. We deserve it.
  12. It’s not just 1 game. It happened against Tennessee and KC last year. We underperform when it matters. I still believe we go deep in the playoffs, so while it may seem I’m overreacting, I’m just concerned we aren’t doing enough to build off last year. KC isn’t going to get worse, not with Mahomes at the helm, so the Bills better figure it out. Because yesterday was embarrassing all things considering. This is 2021. The league is different and the Bills need to start dominating with the talent we have. If we need better talent, then start drafting better. No more being happy about playoffs or super bowl appearances. Beat KC and win Super Bowls. Tired of not expecting greatness.
  13. But it’s only fair to expect domination. Great teams dominate. KC dominates. They beat a really good Cleveland team. They don’t struggle or have bad games much. KC has less overall talent than we do, or at least I believe that to be the case. Games like what happened today against Pittsburgh is unacceptable with the talent we have. It’s one thing to lose a well fought out game, but this game didn’t feel like that. It honestly felt embarrassing especially when we dominated them last year.
  14. But it just seems deeper. This is the same issues we have against teams like KC and Tennessee. People say we have top 5 talent. If that is true, then we should be able to win these games. Mahomes has Hill and Kelce, that’s it. Allen has Diggs, Beasley, Sanders, and Davis. I’m tired of underperforming. It’s either the coaching or our talent isn’t as good as people think it is. It’s time to start discussing it, because KC is going to be around for years. Like I said earlier. I’m willing to give this team a free pass again this year. But clearly more needs to be done. We have top talent already, so it’s showtime. If we truly revamp the Oline next year and still struggle, it’s time to do some hard inspection.
  15. Everyone gives Daboll credit for Allen’s rise. Allen is rising despite Daboll, and I’d argue Allen is being held back by Daboll. Everyone here says we have top 5 WRs core, Allen is a top 5 QB, and we have a top 10 defense. So why do we keep losing against tough opponents? By rights we should be spanking these teams. How is it that Shanahan gets more with less compared to our roster?
  16. Daboll is the most hyped up OC ever. While he isn’t Hackett bad, he generally sucks. Watching McVay and Shanahan run an offense is a thing of beauty. It sucks we can’t have that. Imagine Allen with McVay, just amazing to think about.
  17. I think it can work against the right personnel, but repeatedly against a good cover defense and front seven isn’t a good time to do it. To beat pressure you go screens and designed rollouts. Nothing like that was done. Watching the McVay offensive play calling is a thing of beauty. I feel so happy for Stafford, he deserves it.
  18. Allen threw the ball 51 times! In of itself isn’t a bad thing, provided you mix it up and design better play calls. No screens, no play action, no bootlegs, no slants. While Allen needs to find his open receivers, it’s not helpful when Daboll plays these ridiculous ego games. He is precisely why he won’t get a head coaching gig, or if he does he’s going to struggle.
  19. Whatever it is that we lack, McDermott better figure it out. If we need more talent, find it. If we need better coordinators, find them. Just win, just get past KC and win a super bowl. No more excuses. Losing to a team we beat handily last year doesn’t exactly instill confidence we improved enough to beat KC.
  20. Then it’s either Allen or the coordinators that’s the problem. If it’s Allen, then we all better hope this is anomaly because we have a lot of money tied up into him.
  21. If you want to concentrate on the division first, fine. But my eyes are on the super bowl and in order to get there you have to go through the Chiefs. If you have to worry about securing your division, then forget about beating the Chiefs. Just start looking for better talent or coordinators. Right now it’s all about Mahomes. Mahomes is king of the AFC castle until he isn’t. If Allen can’t beat Mahomes with the current talent we have, then we have to keep building. It sucks that is the case, because I thought Allen would be the type to elevate the talent that is around him, but early indications seem to indicate he’s going to need prime talent to beat KC.
  22. This is reasonable and I agree with this take. I don’t think many of us are to far apart where we are coming from. I honestly don’t think I fully believe our WRs are the issue, but just mad because Allen threw for 51 passes and nothing much to show for it, considering QBs today had half the amount of attempts for similar or more yardage. Obviously they weren’t playing against a Pitt D, but still it really hurts to know that. Kelly had bad games, so I supposed it’s only normal for Allen to have a bad game or 2. I just sucks watching Mahomes, Brady, etc having great games after great games, I just want Allen to be great like that. Maybe he won’t be, I guess we will find out. But my eyes tell me he is elite and eventually will be extremely dangerous when he puts it all together. He has such a high ceiling. I don’t care about all those other teams. It’s about beating the Chiefs, nothing else matters because they are the biggest threat to get through. We aren’t doing enough to beat them. That’s the main issue I have. It’s like dealing against the Patriots all over again. Just win a super bowl, if we need more talent, then get it.
  23. Yeah, I’m not concerned either, just mad. We should be beating teams like Pittsburgh. After all we have top 5 talent supposedly. So if that is the case then why are our coaches underperforming. Some are saying we have subpar trench talent, if that is the case then why is our talent evaluations underperforming. Right now, we all can’t even agree where the blame lies. Great historical teams dominate, and they win a lot of games, some even go undefeated. So struggle fests like today hurt, it makes it feel like we aren’t a great historical team, especially when we beat Pittsburgh last year fairly decisively.
  24. I get it, and I’m not really overly concerned, just mad. I still feel we are playoff team and a super bowl contender. But that isn’t good enough, it’s super bowl or bust and right now that road goes through teams like Pittsburgh, KC, Titans, GB, TB, AZ, etc. If we can’t beat those teams in the regular season, it’s going to be equally hard or harder to beat them in the post season. I’m just tired of the excuses, I just want a super bowl. We either get better talent in here or better coordinators/coaching or talent evaluators. This is the last free pass year for me.
  25. Then we have a talent evaluation issue and not coordinator/coaching issues. Then Beane should be getting more heat than he is. Someone needs to be blamed. Nobody wants to be accountable anymore. With Allen money tied up, even with expanding cap, our elite talent acquisition is going to be limited to mostly the draft. So either Beane starts building up the trenches, or we need to fix the issue while we still have prime Allen.
