Impact Players and the case for doing whatever it takes at WR1

Ladd at #28 (he’ll catch 100 passes as a rookie) legette at #45 (after a trade up from #60) - the deep threat Josh really never has. Substitute Legette for with Franklin, Polk, Worthy, Coleman, even Walker depending on who the Bills like Who’s that? Odell? -
I agree 100%. I don’t think Beane wants to give up 2 1st, 2 2nds and some late picks to move up to 5/6/7. I do think he would be willing to give up a 2nd + to move up to the late teens to grab Thomas II if (1) Thomas last to then and (2) they have Thomas as their #4 wr, a lot of people do not. I would take Ladd at 28 if he’s there (not a given as I could see KC trading ahead of us to grab him) then I would trade 60 and a future 2nd to move up to the low/mid 40s and grab Legette/frankli/worthy/polk/coleman, etc - whomevers left then and they like best. adding Ladd +, say Legette would be awesome. I think the bills like both of them a lot. They’ve met with both a couple of times and Josh mentioned him prominently in a recent interview saying he’s got the best southern accent he’s ever heard. we may also just stay at 60 and grab whomever falls to there, but they do have 10 picks and 10 draft picks arent making this team. my dream senario; #28, 2025 2nd, 2024 4th, 2024 5th for pick 27 or so and take Thomas Ii #60 and other 2025 2nd for #40 and take Ladd who’s has fallen to 40 thomas and Ladd added to our wr corp and we’d still have a total of 8 2024 picks and picks in every round in 2025 except the 2nd. We will get 2 or so comp picks though in 2025 I’ve seen him mocked as early as 12 and lasting until 28. A lot of people have him as the #4 but a lot of people don’t. I’d love to see how the Bills rank the wr. My guess is they may have legette at #4 and may take him at #28. The kid is a one year wonder (no fault of his own) but oozes character. His story is heart wrenching. He and buffalo written all over him

Two words: Josh Allen Idiotic topic; Beane has made us a SB contender each year.......next post

New Buscaglia mock has Bills trading up to 7 for Malik Nabers
Turbo44 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes please this is a ridiculously deep draft. Still having 8 picks in rounds 4-7 would be fine -
I like it a lot better now that Diggs will be a FA after this season. I have no idea what was happening behind the scenes with him, but, Diggs was obviously a problem

I think Edge is our 2nd biggest need. This is what I'd like to see: 28 wr 45 wr - trade up from 60 using a 4th and get your next favorite wr next 7 picks, not in this order DE (2) DL (1) S (1) RB (1) LB (1) OL (1)

You definitely don't trade up to take AD and I probably wouldn't trade up to take Thomas either. Nabers is as close as a sure thing in the draft, while AD and Thomas are not even close -
Yep unless I trade the farm for the top 3, in draft McConkey at 28 and trade up on the 2nd to take legette

Does Beane have a trade with Schoen Lined Up???

TEN would be a good trade partner probably. Why are they looking to trade back? -

Nabers, Harrison and Odunze weren’t the ones drafted last year. Lasts years WR class was mediocre at best, the top 3 this year are elite. I trade 2 1sts, a 2nd and a couple of mid round picks all day for Nabers and probably Odunze. Harrison is as good as gone - worst kept secret or ARI I would too but NYG want to participate in the draft post rd 1. This would wipe them out pick wise, leaving them only 166 and 183. For two guys fighting for their jobs, they’re not sacrificing 2024 -
NYG have a shortage of picks and a lot of needs. They also have pick #6 and Schoen and Beene are close. I think #28, a 4th and 5th this year and our 1st next year gets it done. That still leaves us with 8 picks this year And we get one of the top 3. Maybe our choice of 2 of the 3. for all we know, Beane and Schoen might have a deal agreed upon but it won’t be announced until the NYG are on the clock. Here’s why: If the league thinks NYG might make the pick, they’ll think NYG might be picking a QB. If this gets a team jumping NYG to get that QB, it benefits Buffalo. If QBs go 1,2,3,4 and Alt 5; we have a choice of all 3

Is drafting Diggs replacement a priority in this draft?
Turbo44 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
28 is too early for sweat. Wouldn’t mind a wr at 28 and a trade up from 60 to the mid 40s for sweat though -
I’d be much more interested in Polk than Walker at 60, and Polk prob last to 60
-
Which round are the Bills more likely to trade up....1st or 2nd??
Turbo44 replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
The salary cap says it would not make this trade -
I don’t think we’re trading up for Latu and the chance of him making it 28 over very close to 0%. He may go top 15
-
I would be happy with either or Franklin or Legette at pick 40+ (trade down from 28 or up from 60); I wouldn’t be particularly happy with either at 28
-
how are Franklin’s analytics? Bills seem to be spending a lot of time with him. Pac10, or wherever he played bs sec is thought to quantify Also if speed is the factor, why not worthy over Franklin?

Gunner's 2024 Mock Draft - FINAL v3.0 NOW LIVE (p.13)
Turbo44 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree - Edge is our biggest need and I would definitely try to trade up to TB. Alternatively, what would it cost to trade up to JAX (17) to grab Thomas? Would #30, a 4th and the 2025 2nd be in the ballpark? -
I just did a mock and took #28: McConkey at 28 (there was a run on WRs and it was between him and Worthy) #60: Traded #60 and (2) 5ths to move up to #52 and took Legette Pretty realistic if Beene's wants to stack WR's. I would love this as I have a serious man crush on McConkey but would to pair him with a more natural X receiver.
-
Beene has done a pretty good job filling other needs. The biggest needs, other than WR are Edge and safety and maybe a 3rd string RB. If he stands pat, he could draft wr's with the first 2 picks. My favorite idea is: #28 McConkey #60 Walker (maybe a small trade up for Legette or Franklin if they fall)
-
If Thomas isn't drafted in the first 18, i think Beene is trying desperately to trade up for him. I think there's a 30% chance he falls to 19/20. No way in the world he falls to 28 because someone (KC, etc) would jump Buffalo to grab him before Buffalo. For all we know, Beene may have another receiver rated higher?? They've spent a lot of time with Franklin and have been kinked to Coleman and Mitchell. The only top guy they haven't been linked to - no meetings, etc is McConkey - Smokescreen or not a fit??
-
per my draft blog above, I just tried a mock draft to see if it was pracitcal: #28 came around and all tier 2 wr's were available. SF offered e #31 and their 2025 2nd for #28 I accepted. with #31 I took mitchell I have an unexplainable love for McConkey and when he was still available at #44, I traded #60 and our 2025 2nd for #44 and grabbed McConkey. so, net, i have the same amount of picks left and grabbed Adalai Mitchell and McConkey. Great WR room now and gives us option flexibility with Diggs in 2025 and beyond
