Chiefs-Bills trade that landed Kansas City Patrick Mahomes
Virgil replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
And if that is the case, not saying you are wrong, that gives even more forgiveness to the McD. I will never care what the owner wants, same as fans. We have no idea what we are talking about. If he was projected that late, no one can blame the Bills for passing. Now if you want to argue what to draft first, the trenches and support roles or the QB, sure. But I agree with how McD did it. Technically, the Chiefs did the same thing because they let Mahomes sit the entire first year -
Something I've never understood, is when a deal can be re-worked without penalty vs a deal that creates dead money. For example, let's just say Von Miller. Is there any way for them to throw out his old deal and sign him to a new 1 year deal? I feel like the answer is no, as the Saints proved with their ongoing plan to kick the can down the road. I also understand that the player needs to be on board for the new contract. But overall, what are the rules with this? I keep hearing about deals where the old contract is essentially torn up, but I just don't get the logistics.

Chiefs-Bills trade that landed Kansas City Patrick Mahomes
Virgil replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn't trade Josh Allen for anything. Keep Mahomes' wife and brother the hell away from this team. People used to ask if I would trade for Brady or the Hoodie for one ring, and I said no. Same answer with Mahomes. Also, absolutely no one could have predicted Mahomes was going to have the career he's had. He fell to 10 for a reason. Yes, some people thought he had potential, but at the time, no one was harping on the Bills for that trade- 167 replies

I still think it's 2023. I meant the 2025 cap hit 🤦♂️
-
That's a crazy 2025 dead cap hit. Wouldn't it make more sense to restructure or extend him?

Here starts the beginning of them needing to clear 51 mil in cap space

Salary cap question, Leonard Floyd’s dead cap
Virgil replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t get this. Didn’t he sign a one year deal? How is there a cap hit this year?- 125 replies

He should ask for a refund from his dealer

What is your level of patience on not advancing to the Super Bowl?
Virgil replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Another game manager who wasn't really getting paid. I'm not saying it's not impressive and he doesn't deserve credit for making it to the SB, I'm just saying they allocate their resources very differently -

I'd argue they wouldn't have made it to the SB if Lance was their QB. They got lucky with Purdy, both with his abilities and salary. Once they have to pay him, or anyone at the position, other positions will suffer. -
Depends on how the ticket prices change over the next two years and what the PSL's will be

This is tough for me. Normally, I would say they should make the change this offseason. But then again, what are we really asking for here? We are looking for someone to do what no one else can. I'd argue that McD plays Reid better than any other coach. We scored more points against the Chiefs than anyone else did in the playoffs, same in prior years. With that being said, you're asking do we drop the #2 coach for a hopeful coach that can do what no one else has. I'm not sure how to answer that honestly. -
I'm very curious to see what PSL's will be, and how that resell market will look. My family has season tickets since the stadium opened, so we have a good priority when the new seats can be selected. The main reason I justify possibly keeping them, is the ability to resell our PSL's
-
I think we are raising them more aggressively and will go from one of the cheaper tickets in the league to the top 25%. I'd argue that the city of Buffalo has no business being that top bracket. There's a USA today article from September 2023 that said the Bills were a top 5 most expensive ticket, between average season ticket prices and resale market. I think that's a bit ridiculous.
-
I expect 10% every season until the new stadium. Then we will see PSL's and an even higher jump. By the time is all said and done, we are going to be in the top 25% of NFL ticket prices, which I think is ridiculous

Am I wrong for being annoyed with the guys who only seem to figure it out in the final year of their rookie deal?

Anyone else more low-key about this loss than you thought you'd be?

I honestly think I need to be done for a while. I barely slept. This isn’t healthy. -

It’s hurts worse than any loss since 13 seconds. I honestly wish the team would move, so I could stop watching football as intensely. I know I won’t be able to make myself care less, but it’s just not fun overall. Regular season wins are fun in the moment, but it’s a fleeting feeling, as you’re just on to the next week. We are going to hear and see remnants of this game for months and now 0-3 to the Chiefs in the playoffs is a defining characteristic. Josh deserves better. Maybe the only thing I can do is accept things will never change in this org and this is the best it gets. Destroy the hope -
Why would you choose one of the worst players in Bills history as your screen name? Dude is second to Kelsay for me. He’s easily a top 5 worst player for me

How do fans even think about the future at times like this?
Virgil replied to ShakAttack's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s all I can think about right now. There is no reason to believe the Bills will win a Super Bowl. Mahomes, Jackson, Stroud, Burrow, Herbert all have the same opportunity Josh does. McD isn’t going anywhere. Our roster will be worse next year. And in 2 years, who knows what the landscape will be. I’m not done, but I’m wondering how much of life I can give to this team anymore. It’s overall not worth it. They give more pain than happiness. I don’t want this for my daughter.
