I agree with you to a certain extent. I think our letting Preston walk for stones and McDermott's history of MLB use would indicate we are going after a LB in the draft. The problem is, we also made the same type of moves VIA QB. To me, I think we are going to stay at 12 and 22 picking MLB first and BPA QB at 22. I'm not thrilled with the idea, but it seems to be setting up that way. Trading up would sacrifice one of those positions for the other, unless Beane feels there's an immediate starter at either position in the later rounds after a trade.

I agree with the player trades, but it doesn’t mean the Cardinals couldn’t still make that trade with a package of other picks. So the means may be off, but result could be the same
