  1. So for reference, here is an article from Kyle Trimble (BangedUpBills) when DaQuan Jones tore his pec last season. He goes over the anatomy of the pectoral muscle and various injury mechanisms https://bangedupbills.com/2023/10/09/analyzing-buffalo-bills-daquan-joness-pectoral-injury/ He lists a number of players with pec tears and their RTP timelines. Feliciano, who tore his pec lifting weights, described it as the "worst pain he's ever felt in his life". Since it's thought that Bernard tore it several plays before he finally came out and went to the tent, either he's way tougher (possible) Or, it's not a complete tear. Injury review from Dolphins game. Trimble points out that we won't know what's going on until Bernard gets an MRI today https://bangedupbills.com/2024/09/13/buffalo-bills-vs-miami-dolphins-week-2-injury-review/
  2. I remember the game when we finally beat the Stinkin' Phish after being powned by them for years, and the fans tore the goalposts down. "They've brought out the horses....they better get the horses out of there because the horses might get hurt!"
  3. I haven't wanted to "go there", but I will at this time. Bear in mind that in 2022, Tua had a horrible 2nd concussion complete with fencing response on Thursday night....after he had what every "injury spotter" doc and even talking heads felt pretty sure was a concussion on Sunday afternoon vs the Bills Prior to the concussion last night, Tua was having a "terrible, horrible, no good very bad" game against the Bills. One of Tua's calling cards is being "careful with the football": having good judgement, knowing when to check it down or throw it away, being "careful with the football" (maybe too careful). In 2022, McDaniel's 1st year, he had 25 TD to 8 INT. Last year he took more chances, but still 29 to 14. It's not that he's never thrown a 3 INT game before, but only one other since his rookie year. I've wondered if careful scrutiny would show a possible concussion that went un-addressed during the Mia-Jax game leading to uncharacteristic mistakes. Yeah, Damar basically stood there like a wall and Tua lowered his helmet and ran right into him. I mean, c'Mon man!
  4. You'll have a happier life if you stop looking over the fence into the neighbor's field and performing comparative analysis of his pasture quality. In the two games we played, the Bills have 59 rush attempts (58%) to 42 pass attempts (42%). The reason is, the Dolphins were vulnerable against the run, and Joe Brady seems to live by the mantra "if it's working, we're gonna keep doing it until you stop it". So he kept running. You can see this in the fact that Knox (who can block in-line and downfield) actually had more snap counts than Kincaid (whose blocking is improving, but still mostly limited to being in the right place at the right time and giving a little shove. Look at the snap counts, which are out already. They're interesting. 91% is "I played the whole game" because they pulled the starters after that. Keon Coleman basically didn't come off the field until they pulled the starters at the end. I would love to know what routes he was running because unlike Hollins, who had the second highest snap count among the WR, Keon is not in there to block. He can block, but like any rookie he's learning how it's done in the Big Leagues. Samuel saw 12 snaps in last night's game. MVS saw 4. So I'm not sure where you're seeing "they didn't get separation downfield" because, they were barely on the field, and sometimes when they were, they did; MVS had separation on a dangerous off-platform pass from Allen which he shouldn't have thrown.
  5. I came here to share this
  6. Maybe the coaching staff should put their bodies in harm's way by trying to Do Their Job and make a tackle while Rapp is launching himself head-first into their knees and ankles
  7. Not sure I registered it, but didn't he have a really strong PBU in the endzone yesterday (Bishop I mean?) It was at the end of the game, but good coverage. This. Ingram is not playing safety, he's their dime back, which is a role Lewis was filling until Johnson went down. And he's filling it well. But we're not gonna see Ingram competing with Rapp or Hamlin at safety.
  8. Sharp is correct. I don't know what Phifer is seeing. Hamlin can be a "thumper" but in this instance, he was not at all prepared to "thump". That was such an unnecessary hit. Po going "Rapp" on his teammates, flying in for a hit when there were 2 guys already there.
  9. Josh is rationalizing in favor of his personal preference, which is to keep running and put his shoulder down or stiff-arm defenders. He enjoys that, and by now, every defender in the league is like "*****, here comes that MF. He ain't gonna Posterize ME!" so there is a higher risk of a late hit by a revved up defender who doesn't expect him to slide. Tua, on the other hand, should not be putting his head down. He just isn't built for it.
  10. Ingram isn't a safety
  11. Thank you. Yes, Hamlin played well last night. See this? There are two reasons for this. One is pressure. The other is solid coverage.
  12. I'm having trouble parsing this. You're saying Tua might have felt it was safer to keep running with a safety right there than to slide?
  13. The picture is very different if Tua voluntarily retires vs. can't be medically cleared to play (see Wood, Eric - remember his "non retirement" retirement presser?)
  14. I thought it was sarcasm, myself, but perhaps I was mistaken.
  15. IMHO Hamlin was expecting Tua to slide once he got the 1st. Man has no field awareness as a runner (Tua I mean)
  16. Listen to yourself "He's played fine" Shoulda stopped there.
  17. I think the concern runs, it was nice of the fins to flip us 17 points off interceptions, but we can't expect that every week. There were coverage breakdowns that went for too many big gains. Look, I'm very open about the fact that I'm self taught in football and have to watch coach's film several times to see what's happening, so when I can see that he's in the wrong place (or the defense as a whole is) or he's slow to react, the concern is real. I will say that I saw that kind of thing from Bernard initially and he picked it up quickly, so that could happen.
  18. I don't think that's true. The money isn't guaranteed for retirement - a team can even ask for pro-rated portions of the signing bonus to be returned, although most will not.
  19. I think you've Got It Mixed, My Fine Sir. If anything, Jax borrowed from us. Does the phrase "I respect the ***** out of you!" (McDaniel to McDermott) ring a bell? (Hint: week 4 last season, right after the Fins hung 70 on the Broncos and every pundit was hyping them up)
  20. There were at least 2 I saw that I was Ay Yi Yi. Yeah, the throw to Coleman was one of them. The floater for MVS was the other I think. It wasn't in danger on that throw because the DB didn't react to it, but a better reaction and yeah, that coulda been theirs.
  21. I wouldn't do that if I were them. Or at least think carefully. Q: how do you tell whether or not there's an alligator in a Florida waterway? A: you touch it. If the water is wet, there's an alligator in it
  22. That would be why his Bills tenure ended
  23. Get him a Kazoo Helmet and then put a guardian cap over it. That play makes no sense to me. He got the 1st down, SLIDE! Damar made like the worlds most awkward tackle because that's what he was expecting, I'm sure. I give Tua props as a decision maker and an accurate passer when he has time, but Tua seems to have very little field awareness as a runner. I'm glad you mentioned this. I was wondering how Hamlin must have felt, making that tackle then watching Tua writhe around and seeing the trainers come racing over. I hope it doesn't give him flashbacks.
  24. Yes, a partial tear is a thing. In 2020 Milano had a partial tear, no surgery, and missed 2 games. That was too few, and he may have re-injured or aggravated it; he wound up on IR for 3 games and then was worked back over the next 3. Overall missed 5 games and was ineffective for 2. Hopefully the Bills will learn something from that and be more conservative with Bernard. If they'd have put Milano onto IR directly, he would have missed less time overall I believe, 4 weeks and limited the next 2 or something.
