How do we not take care of the most vulnerable?  And if they are neglected, who's usually at fault?

Why are Black and Brown people targeted by police? Why is our system comprised of the have and have nots? We need real social change and reckoning of our countries moral compass.

Of all the people to plagiarize, and take credit for their work as your own, you actually chose AOC...

    I am absolutely ***** stunned.

Do you think you’re too dumb to come up with something (you view as) this smart to say, or do you believe that you are too smart to come up with something this dumb on your own?

I honestly can’t assess which it is.

Spreading the word of the most enlightened active

political figure is all. If AOC was president our moral standing in the world would be far greater than it is today.

It may not be “crazy” but it’s also not very likely, as many more indicators suggest the Bills are a very good team and organization.  Those teams don’t often “fall apart” unless it is on account of key injuries.

I know Im going to get roasted for saying this, but don’t the Bills need to beat a good team before being considered a very good organization? What was their signature win last year? Tennessee w/ Mariota? Dallas on Thanksgiving and SNF @ Pitt were good wine, but those teams both had down years.

On paper the Bills are a prime regression candidate, because they aren’t going to get 5 games against the four worst teams in the league again.

Most of the Jets beat writers think BB would win the division with high school team so  don’t take it personally. It remains to be seen if they are right, and hopefully we find out.

As a long time NY Post reader when I lived back east, I always found Costello to be little more than an instantly forgettable, paint-by-numbers columnist.

The 'odds are against Buffalo' conclusion based on the last time they appeared in the playoffs in consecutive seasons is just the worse kind of nonsensical crap.

In normal years the Bills would be a prime regression candidate due to the challenging schedule.

What I think Costello needs to factor in is that there are multiple paths to the playoffs this year since the division is also up for grabs.

JF 2020, I thought let’s give the guy the benefit of the doubt, maybe he likes both teams.  Unlikely, but ok.  Then I kept listening.  You’re just trying to insight things, and if you were even a little neutral, ok.  It’s very obvious you’re not.

Do what you think is best, and enjoy you’re friends on you’re Jets website.  Here, it is very apparent you’re not here to be even fair minded.  That’s too bad.  I really did give you a chance to be fair minded.  You’ve done a great job in that I’m one old time poster who won’t respond to you’re originating threads again.  I’d say to my friends, consider because if there is no audience the poster leaves.  They want a response which is why he’s here in the first place.

its not like ice bowl.  2020, you wouldn’t know as you don’t care he is a GB guy who respects Bills fans and we are incredibly respectful of each other.  These are great teams and fans.

Am I really trying insite things by stating that Matt Barkley stinks?

I’ll agree with that (although Fromm is a wild card). As we sit today the Bills should feel worse about their number 2 than anyone in the division. Brian never suggests though that Allen goes out (which would be an odd thing to predict). Just saying, it’s a tough argument to put the Bills last in the division. They are +650 to finish 4th (and that’s way low imo). If someone offered me 30:1 that the Bills would finish 4th in the division I wouldn’t touch it.

Id say there is a 10-15 percent the Bills/Pats finish last and a 35-40 percent chance the Jets/Dolphins finish last.

    Agreed. The NFL is king.

The owners used replacement players during the strike of '87, and the players came crawling back in a month (and there's been labor peace ever since).

Rules change every year without a second thought. They could make it a 60 player roster for this year only, to account for losses of players to the virus.

If there's reduced or no fans in the stands, they'll probably force the networks to renegotiate their broadcast contracts, since viewership will probably be 20-30% higher than ever before. The TV people are already terrified that King NFL will go to an all-streaming platform any day now, anyway.

One way or another, there'll be a full season. And the owners won't be taking a pay cut.

This is out of the NFLs control. The virus is going to dictate things.

Why would you let some random article challenge your convictions?

If any starting QB in the league goes down, outside just a couple of teams, they are screwed. Many of them are screwed even with their starters (Jets come to mind).

You hope the backup QB doesn’t play, but if he does he becomes very important.

I feel much better about Joe Flacco than Matt Barkley.

  9. 11 minutes ago, Kirby Jackson said:

I honestly don’t have any problem with him picking the Bills last. I don’t think it’s likely but everyone is entitled to their opinion. It’s just odd. He talks about how good they are in all of these areas and then picks them last. It’s just kind of strange.

    @JetsFan20 come get your boy...

Well you have to admit that the Bills have far and away the worst backup QB situation in the division. If Allen goes down, good luck with Barkley and Fromm.

    Yup.

If nothing else, it's a clear example of how the NFL is unable to do anything but chase the curve. They had a great opportunity to be an ally from the beginning. They could've amplified Black Lives Matter like they do with Breast Cancer and Veteran Salute or whatever other causes the NFL sanctioned. They could've come away from this with renewed respect -- it would've been a little rocky with the MAGA people but the NFL would've been just fine. These people boycott every thing constantly, and it never matters. How many times have they boycotted Starbucks? How are they doing?

That the NFL couldn't get behind BLM is grotesque in hindsight. The phrase is so clear and so obvious, too, it's just... ugh. It's not a debate. It's a magnifying glass on hate and prejudice, on racism. They do or they don't. America/ns care, or don't. The NFL, with all of the access in the world to black voices and already a supposed commitment to community work, couldn't just get on board. They were too afraid of the police.

So, if everybody is afraid of speaking up against the police, what does that say about where we're at? It feels like a society where you have to perform demonstrative respect to cops on a regular basis, to give them absurd amounts of money we donate to them through taxes, and also aren't able to criticize it without getting death threats.... yeah that seems about what a police state would be.

A lot of these cops are pawns in all this. I blame the municipalities and department leadership whom view good police work as number of arrests/citations issued. Unlike housing/social programs municipalities make some money back off cops.

Take the situation in GA for example. That kid didn’t need to be arrested. Leave the car in the parking lot and tell him to find his way home.

I mean Baseball should of started at the end of March and goes till the end of October. So that's like a 5 month difference from when they start, so I'd be more worried if baseball doesn't ever manage to start not as much if their season is cut in half.

I feel like as much as the NFL wants to play these games its still no lock. What happens if players start getting sick? These guys are around each other all the time. Are we going to quarantine teams?

this is a very good point - the people condemning the protests don’t seem to ever offer an actionable alternative. They look and point and say those protesters, kaepernick, all the rest are “bad americans” and hate our country. I never see people like @Cal or anyone else proposing an alternative for these people.

once again, kaepernick took that time and place and form to protest because it offered visibility to his cause. He never intended any direct attack on our military, our flag or our country in general. He’s said as much himself. The fact that many of you disregard his intent and take offense anyways is, frankly, your problem.

We have gotten to a point where it is now appropriate for public companies to support the BLM movement. Three years ago when the kneeling started BLM was not nearly as mainstream and considered somewhat radical/controversial.

Goodell and the NFL owners are no different than Jeff Bezos and Amazon. They will absolutely still do business with the military and police departments (security in stadiums), but feel we are at a point in which support of the movement is now necessary in the eyes of the public.

Again-the whole kneeling situation a couple of years ago was blown completely out of proportion and just provided more evidence as to how out of touch NFL owners were. In a league where roughly 70 percent of the players are young black men they should have embraced it from the beginning.

It's a Rona, and there is no reason to believe it won't go away just like MERs and SARs did. In fact evidence now coming out of Italy shows it may do so even quicker that they did.

Its not going away, but there is nothing to be done at this point. One of the doctors on Meet The Press today flat out said that the exposure is too great in the US to eradicate it and it will take a vaccine to rid ourselves of it.

  14. It’s looking like MLB is going to have to cut their season by 60-70%.

If that happens in the NFL how would you feel about it?

Personally I think it’s a major stretch to crown a championship in that format. I would definitely eliminate the wild card and divisional rounds of the playoffs and have every team play extra games with the final four moving on.

  15. I’m over this dumb debate. How about they stand for the near 200k people who are going to be dead from COVID-19 by the time the season starts or the health care workers whom saved countless lives

Players can stand, kneel, sit, or lay down for all I care. It doesn’t impact me one bit, and it’s not going to bring anymore awareness to the issue than it already has.

Under the new rules Goodell/The NFL can pretty much do whatever they want.

    Injuries are a concern.

Every QB coming in faces the same unknown re Defense reading.  But Tua dominated in the conference that produces a ton of NFL Defensive starters (Bama destroyed Burrow and LSU in 2018)..  LSU isn't the only such team he faced.  Plenty of tight coverage on his receivers during his tenure there .

I never understood this type of comment.  No one says: "Kelly and Bradshaw are difficult to evaluate because they were surrounded with HOF talent and coaches".

    Great players make great teams.

Those guys played with great talent, but also played against great talent.

Tua and Burrow played with an NFL roster against Vanderbilts defense.

  18. Tua and Burrow to me are difficult to evaluate in the sense that the talent they played with far exceeded anyone else in CFB.

    Take Tua for example:

    RB-Josh Jacobs-1st round pick

OL-Jonah Williams, Jedrick Wills-first round picks

WR-Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs-first round pick

Next year Alex Leatherwood, Jaylen Waddle, and Devonta Smith are projected first round picks.

Alabama has more talent on offense than the Jets and Dolphins.

Let’s see what happens I have no reason not to believe Major Bobby’s report.

Didn’t he fail a field sobriety test? Even if he gets off on DUI the NFL could still suspend him a few games under the new rules.

I will take the 32nd ranked offense if the teams wins a SB.

Last year’s #s are already different with Gore gone and Moss’s gain

I don’t think the Bills will likely ever have a top 10 offense under McDermott by design. His formula is defense/ball control.

In today’s NFL you need to throw the ball around to have a top 10 offense. Your point is valid-top 10 offense doesn’t mean you are going to win football games.

    Exactly

The point was that Singletary, Brown and Beasley way outperformed their preseason ranking of 24. 2 of them had career years and the other averaged 5.1 YPC. If they were to rank them retrospectively the Bills were probably 16ish. Now you add in a number one receiver and bump the rest down a notch and you have a high end group. Take arguably the worst RB in the NFL out of a rotation and add a talented rookie and that group improves. You had a rookie RB and ate that presumably will take a step forward. Thats how you go from 16ish to 8. Everything moved in the right direction. There’s a CHASM between the Bills skill players and the skill players of the Jets, Pats and Dolphins.

The Bills were the 24th ranked offense in total yds. Not sure what you mean by pre season rank
