The point is that the Bills ended up underrated at 24. It was a preseason ranking. Beasley and Brown has the best years of their careers and the rookie EB averaged 5.1 YPC. Guys that were question marks entering the year overachieved. Now when you add Diggs, you have 2 1k receivers and a high end slot option. Brown and Beasley now face easier matchups. Moss in unquestionably an upgrade over Gore and that’s why you are looking at the Bills 20 spots ahead of anyone else in the division. The have the best receiver, the best #2 receiver, a high end slot guy and arguably the best backfield in the division. Bell may still be that guy but there’s a very good chance that the Bills backfield emerges. We aren’t splitting hairs in the division. The Bills weapons are far, far, far beyond the rest of the AFC East.

Its the same offense sans Gore with Moss and Diggs.

  2. Last years offensive rankings

    15. New England

    24. Buffalo

    27. Miami

    32. NYJ

Miami and the Jets weren’t too far off from Buffalo if you take out the Rosen and Luke Falk games (the Jets also had a historically bad showing on MNF vs New England)

New England lost Tom Brady so its reasonable to assume they will regress on offense

Obviously I could see BUF, Miami, and NYJ improving from 2019 (not a big ask). I just fail to see how any of these teams are going to develop into a top 10 offense against a tougher schedule.

Hey Kirby, I like Knox a lot, but that kid Gesicki for Miami is really tough. Hopefully Dawson catches up to him soon!

The Jets are also very excited about Chris Herndon and Pats drafted two TEs who are probably studs.

Ironically, if we switched places with the Panthers in the NFC South we might have the worst skill players in the division. If you objectively compare the Bills skill guys to the others in the AFC East it’s really difficult to make a case for anyone else (or that it’s even close).

The AFC East is a defensive rich division with limited offenses/unproven to bad QBs.

The Bills skill players are WAY ahead of the rest of the division at this point and their OL is similar to others. I’d say that they have a middle of the league OL but probably top 10 skill players. Diggs is the best WR in the division. Brown is the best #2 WR in the division. Beasley is a top 10ish slot guy in the league. The rest of the division is good in the slot as well. Knox could very well be the best TE in the division by this year (if he isn’t already). Singletary’s 5.1 YPC was tied with Derrick Henry last year. He trailed only Mostert and Gus Edwards in that category. If you add more carries for him and the massive upgrade from Gore to Moss you have a pretty big gap between the Bills and the other skill positions in the division.

Rebuttal #1-This is not a fantasy football. The 2019 Browns are a great example of how talented skill players don’t necessarily translate into offensive success.

Rebuttal #2 What kind of offense are the Bills going to run? Bills designed an offense last year that played off a top flight defense by limiting Allen’s pass attempts/risky throws. Do they really need elite skill players to run that type of offense? The 2019 49ers is the blueprint. Perhaps they look at the Vikings as a blueprint, but Kirk Cousins as a player is nothing like Josh Allen.

Rebuttal #3 Zach Moss is a 3rd round pick, how do you know he’s a massive upgrade over Frank Gore? The Jets drafted a RB in the 4th round who could turn out to be better than Moss (nobody knows with rookies).

  5. I’m not sure I see that much of a gap between the Bills and everyone else.

Last year the Jets and Dolphins had among the worst OL in the league while the Pats and Bills has pretty good lines. The Jets and Dolphins both invested significant resources in that area and it remains to be seen what the outcome will be.

Skill position wise the Bills look a lot better because of Diggs, but I think it’s a little outlandish to think one player makes that much of a difference.

good luck with that - Darnold has nowhere near the talent of Mahomes and if Sam tried some of the **** Mahomes does in-game, the results will be comical.

But hey! We’re all rooting for your boy over here. Let’s hope he doesn’t turn into that interception machine he’s trending towards ?

Yea I’m sure you are sincere about rooting for Darnold.

I will say that I had the chance to meet him at a fundraiser through the Jets radio station (my company was a sponsor). The thing that stood out to me was how young he was. It’s easy to forget that these QBs are essentially college kids taking verbal abuse from 40-50 year olds whom could never come close to doing what they do.

Keep in mind the Jets organization has never been able to develop a QB and they hired a coach with no track record in doing so. I don’t think Darnold is the issue.

  7. It’s a very odd situation on the surface. It seems “defunding” the police coincides with putting political pressure on departments to withdraw from their union (see Camden and Minneapolis).

Traditional Democrats are going to be pro-union and police unions have a long history of funding democratic campaigns.

  8. “Defund” means that Black & Brown communities are asking for the same budget priorities that White communities have already created for themselves: schooling > police, etc.

People asked in other ways, but were always told “No, how do you pay for it?”

So they found the line item.

Fitz will have his good games and his bad games like always. I expect he’ll have one particular bad game and  Tua will get his shot by week six.

Honestly, I’d prefer to play against Tua. Fitz always seems to bring his A game against us.

Except when it mattered most (week 17 2015)

  10. In the 1960s MLK and his movement had a clear goal/objective which was to introduce  new legislation that protect the civil liberties of African-Americans.

When I google BLM objective all I see is “campaign against the violence and systematic racism of black people”

Its obviously a good thing that they are bringing awareness to the country that the events that took place in Minneapolis were completely unacceptable. Perhaps it will make another cop think twice about abusing his/her power in the black community.

Unfortunately I think BLM has evolved into decades version of Occupy Wall St. It is now heavily comprised of young impressionable kids who are protesting more-so for the life experience rather than to actually cause legit change and accomplish a clear specific goal.

Im willing to bet that the majority of these white 22 year olds that I’m seeing out there have very little sense of history with regards to the actual civil rights movement of the 60s where police beatings were rampant and unprovoked. By contrast what we are seeing today is young people actually trying to incite the police into acting violently so they can capture it on their phones and post it on Twitter.

This post is not intended to downplay the the spirit of the movement and prejudices that black people face on a daily basis. I do take issue however with those who are protesting and causing community destruction whom have largely never experienced racial prejudice in their lives.

Ha Ha, lol. Actually, the country is pretty unified on one thing... The actions of the 4 Cops involved in the Floyd were criminal and they  must stand trial for them. That process is happening as it should, and that is acceptable to most. Others feel the need to throw a fit, break things, damage buildings,  set fires and even kill people. Makes sense, right ?  All kidding aside, you can’t expect to unify with people who would commit criminal acts and you shouldn’t want to.

president trump is a dictator. Joe Biden is a man of the people. Had Joe Biden been president none of this would have happened and George Floyd

    may still be alive.

I agree. Very few are willing to take the risk as investors into these places and when they do, they are the bad guys. The alternative dynamic is widely supported however, which is simply isolate these communities and keep them on welfare. In a real sense, that is just an unofficial prison system without walls. A concrete plantation if you will. It's insane.

few? Have you seen how Brooklyn has evolved the past 10 years?

Young suburban white people have been flooding to cities for a while now. Cheaper rent/housing prices have expanded their footprint deeper into these cities (largely minority communities).

There is nothing wrong with it on the surface, but it does start to price long time residents out of their neighborhoods. The majority of elected officials (dems included) don’t care about these people because increases property values=more tax revenue. Bloomberg used police in Brooklyn as an example to keep crime at bay in these communities to further encourage/foster gentrification.

The only elected official I know whom really cares about the people is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez who has made it her lives work improving the lives underprivileged minorities

Personally, I think avoiding Barr's investigation is what this media-crafted outrage is really all about. I know it sounds like a "conspiracy theory" but it's far less outlandish than accepting this series of events at face value.

They have to get President Trump out of office. They know incumbents rarely lose when times are good so their goal is to create maximum upheaval in the run up to the election. They don't hate President Trump because of his policies, personality, alleged bigotry, or propensity for getting his hands on some pu$$y. They're terrified of what will be exposed if they can't shut down the investigations. That's been the situation from day one. That's what Russian collusion and the impeachment was all about.

They pushed the Covid shut downs as far as they could in an effort to crush both the economy and spirit of the people. Any doubts about their sincerity were confirmed the second mass "protests" broke out and all the extreme insistence on wrapping ourselves in bubble tape and hiding in seclusion instantly went out the window.

Eventually though, the public turned on them. Liberalism is about signaling a willingness to sacrifice for the well-being of others, not actually doing it. When even their own disciples grew tired of confinement and began to defy their lockdown  orders, the plan fell apart. Society started to reopen, the market rebounded, and a return to normality was on the horizon. Something had to be done.

Enter the video of the "jogger" getting shot. People are killed on video everyday. In a country of nearly 350 million people, most of whom have smart phones, it isn't rare, and news agencies regularly have access to such footage. Video of a black "jogger" getting shot by white guys wasn't perfect (it would have been better if he wasn't beating the ***** out of the guy who shot him) but it was good enough. The white guys did roll up on him with guns drawn, and with a little massaging of the narrative they could, and did, turn it into another Trayvon Martin.

The George Floyd tape was like a gift from God. The only thing that could have made it better would have been if afterward the cop had stood up and unloaded his sidearm into Floyd's unconscious body. (If I ever run for office I suspect those last two sentences will be reported in isolation). They were already working the "hunted black man" narrative and now they've got video of a black man being killed by an actual cop with no reasonable justification. There was more wood in CNN headquarters that day than at 84 Lumber.

Since then the media's been playing full court press doing everything in its power to create as much division and destruction as possible. Every left-wing commentator excused, endorsed, and even encouraged violent insurrection across the country.

Inevitably they would, and did, blame this on President Trump. The fact that it was done by a cop employed by a Democrat city with a Democrat Mayor, and a Democrat sheriff in a Democrat state with a Democrat legislature, and a Democrat governor is of no consequence. Nor is the fact that all the previous high profile cases they cite occurred during the Obama administration. As with literally everything else, whatever Trump did would be, and was, reported as not only the wrong thing, but the worst thing. More importantly, they could further shred the fabric of society knowing the more tension, hopelessness, and misery they cause, the more likely it is that people will vote for "change."

For the true believers (i.e. useful idiots) and all the other dupes who got sucked in by emotional manipulation and/or peer pressure, this is ostensibly about protecting their black virtue pets from the nebulous, undefined, and unquantified threat of oppression and murder at the hands of the monolithic national police force. For those pulling the strings, such concerns aren't so much as an afterthought. For them the "oppressed minority" is a red herring and the SJW a pawn. Their goal is regaining power. Everything else is acceptable collateral damage.

One may wonder why they would go to such extreme measures all for the sake of electing Sleepy Joe Biden. Of course they want a Democrat in the Whitehouse. After all, having a Republican President is like having a Jewish Pope. But no policy issue really explains it. For whatever one thinks of his personality, President Trump's policy decisions have been relatively moderate for the most part, and Joe's uninspiring to all but the passionately moderate Democrat..

Perhaps it's all about the Supreme Court and that's all there is to it. But they've fought like cornered rats from day one, and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it has everything to do with concealing the nefarious acts of the previous administration.

This whole thing really has nothing to do with Trump. Systemic police racism has been a long standing issue in this country. The Freddy Gray incident happened with Obama in office.

The hard truth is that there is a level of fear on both sides. White officers patrolling the inner cities (many growing up in the suburbs) have been taught that inner city black people are dangerous. By contrast Inner city black people have been taught that the police are dangerous.

Visit any city in the US and its the same. Travelers are warned to avoid the “rough” neighborhoods which are predominately resided by black people. The unfortunate truth is that there is indeed  significantly more crime in those parts of the city and it requires a larger police presence to deal with it.

The problem has been augmented through gentrification (especially places like NYC) where property values in the city have increased up to the point where you have very million dollar homes within blocks of these impoverished black communities. It puts the onus on politicians and the police even further to provide security. Why? Because they want more people to buy these homes and in turn generate new tax payer revenue streams.

Breaking every Big 10 record? I’m not sure your point? If it’s that I don’t appreciate Brees you’re talking to the wrong guy. Tua’s strengths are the same as Brees.

Obviously you didn’t know that Drew Brees was essentially one of the first QBs to come into the NFL from a spread offense. The offense he ran at Purdue was nothing like the one Tua ran at Alabama.

  15. 14 minutes ago, Kirby Jackson said:

I live in New Orleans and have seen just about every snap since he’s been here. I’ve seen probably 10-12 Tua starts as well. It the way that they run play action and how accurate they are. This isn’t a based on size. It’s based on what they do well. Tua is a poor man’s Brees at this point.

And what do you remember about Drew Brees running Joe Tillers offense at Purdue?

  16. 1 hour ago, Kirby Jackson said:

I DESPISE Alabama. If anything I’m harder on them than I should be. I do agree that he had elite skill players. He may have 4 1st round WRs and. A 1st round RB. He has OL too that went early. He’s surrounded by elite players. He is too thorough. He has MAJOR health issue though. I’m not comparing him to Brees I’m saying that they have the EXACT same strengths coming out. They are accurate and good with the ball.

Drew Brees came out of college 20 years ago and turned into one of the greatest QBs of all time 5 years into his career.

Its unbelievable that every year any QB 6 ft 1 or under is deemed the next Drew Brees.
