  1. No. I am tired of his coach taking zero accountability for choking away games at the end though.
  2. The most Billsy thing in history would be for the Josh Allen to end up with the right Sean (McVay) and go on to winning multiple championships, while the other Sean processes us into the divisional round of the playoffs year after year, Marty Shottenheimer or Dan Reeves style. Since the Bills are the NFL all time leaders in Billsyness, I can't preclude this or a similar situation from happening in the future.
  3. If you have away to turn off HDR on your tv, try that. It might help.
  4. Game had five awful plays in regulation: Int by allen Int by allen fumble by allen 83 yard defensive collapse Bad decision to decline a penalty and concede 3 points to to the Jets There was also another interception by allen that had the same consequencence as if he had thrown it way, and then we punted. Didn't really alter the game. Despite these five awful plays the team played well enough to tie the game in regulation. In a fact based world, Allens regulation performance resulted in a tie. To reiterate, at the end of regulation the game was tied. This cannot be disputed. All of the turnovers and other bad plays did not lead to a win. It also did not lead to a loss. The overtime was a complete shitshow, the team choked massively and the team lost the game collectively.
  5. This rule is covered on page 2 of the new manual (not visible here)
  6. as long as he "takes what the defense give him" punts are good outcome. Or so I am told.
  7. what a turdfest
  8. Prime
  9. Hurts throwing long, running with the ball, taking sacks. Total bust.
  10. The premise in this thread seems to be Josh Allen needs the greatest mind in football to succeed Brian Daboll is that greatest mind Bringing back the greatest football mind is not feasible. So how do we rid ourselves of this albatross of a QB Beane stuck us with?
  11. Hopefully it is the same team with the fighting spirit to tie the game in regulation despite playing without their best stuff , and not the overtime choker team.
  12. I am sure some of their fans soiled themselves , just like some of our fans have this week.
  13. Compared to 1970 , three extra games. And now 14 teams make the playoffs. So it is definitely easier than it used to be to over come an 0-2 start. But 0-2 still meaningfully lowers the opportunity compared to 0-0 at the seasons start.
  14. You miss the point. I am responding to Josh needs to get used to a new OC every couple of years. This is a formula for never having continuity on the offensive side of the ball. This is a competitive disadvantage compared to elite situations like Brady and Mahomes. If we had a long term OC who is very good, that provides the continuity, which is fine. But the premise I responded to is rolling over OCs constantly. Not sure what teams have won champions with a HC who disowns the offense and has new OCs every couple of years
  15. Turns out the report of concussion protocol was bogus. I deleted my comment because I don’t think it is relevant in light of new information
  16. Again, once we got to overtime the four turnovers, the bad coaching decision on third down and the 83 yard run were in the past. The only thing McDermott needed to say after the game was “we didn’t play our best for 58 minutes, but we we put ourselves in a position to win at the end, and we choked as a team”. But instead McDermott ignored all of that in order to dwell on the first 58 minutes.
  17. Yes, but sometimes not multiple head coaches. Ie Bellichek, Reid. McDermott has publically chosen to not own the offensive failures since the start of his tenure. He is not and cannot be any source of continuity to subsitute for rolling OC. Long term decision making by Beane ought to consider if this is impactful or not.
  18. McDermott, like a common fan, chose to once again single Allen out after the game. I hate McDermott doing this as coach. First it does not nothing productive. Secondly it reveals that once again, McDermott doesn't take any responsibility for losing what was a winnable game at the end. The Bills played 58.5 minutes of disappointing football Monday night. Then they played 1.5 minutes of good football and were in a position to have a good chance to a better than 50/50 chance to win the game, after the coin toss. Good coaches, good players put the first 60 minutes behind them, and proceed forward. Monday night this team choked. Sure, Superman Josh was not thier monday to single handedly win the game. But the entire team had a hand in losing. 83 yard rushing plays are the expected point value of a bad turnover.. Decisions to not take penalties resulting in 3 points for the other team, is the expected point value of a turnover. Punt team giving up a TD is worse than a turnover. These mistakes don't negate otherwise good perfromances any more than turnovers negate Allen's otherwise good performance They all sucked. But McDermott highlighted only one player sucking. At this point the combination of the two of them sucks. At this point Allen, continues to be the responsible adult acknowleding his faillures publically. But that one way street is not likely sustainable.
  19. Jordan Palmers opinion. https://twitter.com/ZbotTweets/status/1702101457426591773?s=20 - QB Coach Jordan Palmer on @TheHerd today was asked why Josh Allen isn’t as “buttoned up” as of late: “It’s less about Ken Dorsey & what he isn’t. It’s more about Brian Daboll. I think a few years from now we’ll all say that’s the best coach in football…” “(Bill Belichick) made a comment to me once & we were talking about Daboll and he said ‘Daboll’s one of the only coaches I’ve ever been around that can be an elite offensive coordinator, an elite defensive coordinator & an elite special teams coordinator. He understands football at that level.’” “When you lose that, you aren’t just gonna replace it.” “What Josh benefited from with Daboll was not just the play calling but learning the game… learning the game from who Bill Belichick and a lot of other people think is one of the smarter dudes in the league at teaching the position”.
  20. The coaches don't seem to be able to get enough out of Allen. If the don't by end of this year, someone needs to decide if we move on from Allen, or move on from McDermott. So far the combination is not championship caliber.
  21. Cough, cough, you don't understand statistics do you? Out of 400 teams in the sample , 38 made the playoffs. So you can list 38 examples. And someone else can list 372 examples of teams that did not make it. This statistic does not say it is impossible. Its says teams have a low probability of making the playoffs after an 0-2 start. 9.5 % of the time. 90.5% of the time 0-2 teams miss the playoffs. Not sure that is often enough for comfort. Its my party and I will cry if I want to.
  22. Spencer Brown's false start to kickoff overtime ruined whatever play would have been called there. It had been a rough game, but Josh Allen led the offense down the field (overcoming a bogus OPI) to get the tying FG. Bills won the toin coss, and the momentum was with the Bills. Then chucklehead false starts, and everybody from McDermott and Dorsey to everyone on the offense seemed to soil themselves. And this negative momemtum carried over to the special teams, who asked everyone to hold their beer, as they proceeded to delvier the single worst ending play for any team in the NFL this week. The play was so bad, it could possibly end up being the worst play to end a game for the entire 2023 season.
