Israel and Iran
Dukestreetking replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Freaking great! I think we discussed that once. Anyway, not sure if I can answer a question re "local legend(s)", as I did not grow up in the area. However, I suspect Lew-town residents, 50+ yo, would know about the brothers. Do not know Fergie...as far as I know (!) -

Also confused, but I finally figured it out. Paraphrasing, briefly: 1. Several days ago, Sherpa makes insightful comment on naval issues. 2. Joe Ferg acknowledges, then wonders--b/c info so good--if Sherpa is actually a real life Navy ADM he knows, "Anthony". I won't use his last name. 3. Ferg makes follow-on posts re this ADM, then brings in stories re his brother, a fmr Army Captain. 4. Nobody would ever know who Ferg is talking about, but he brings them up again! It just so happens that I do know them, very well. 5. A little pissed, I finally ask what is going on with these obscure references. Since, again, I actually know them. 6. The brothers, and extended family members, have served this country faithfully. That's about it...back to regular programming. -

-- "Lighten up, Francis": ok, fair enough, I'll give you that one. Good point. -- To be frank: I was bit in the azz by your blithe, earlier ref to them as "tin soldiers," though I realize the context was as Fort Niagara reenactors. -- Why ticked? Their ~1910s immigrant family (uncles, cousins) has served in every major US military operation since eligible. One uncle: 173rd Abn, WW2 and Korea. Another uncle: Green Beret, with tours in Vietnam and other counter-insurgencies, retired Colonel w 82nd Abn. Cousins: many, many deployments over multiple conflicts, from peacekeeping, to combat engineer, to counter-IED, to XYZ. I've already provided what the brothers themselves did. Point is: theirs is a military family that has gone way above and beyond the call for their country. I hope you realize that use of "tin soldier" (no matter context) anywhere in their vicinity really chafes. Maybe it's just me. -- Yes, I'll agree with you that the stories are funny. But the Capt G. "tree incident" needs context. He definitely had solid reason to toss the m'fer! -- Last: Anthony (nobody calls him Tony) is most definitely not @sherpa!! Ok, 'nuf said. -

Dude, wtf is up w your continuing, almost snide fascination re "The Admiral" and his brother? Both brothers served their country with honor and distinction. The latter was Army SoF, deployed w KFOR, etc., then moved on to civilian life. And you know exactly the circumstances re the "tree story"...how? The former, call sign "Ghandi," was F-14 pilot and RIO, Black Knights squadron CO on the Carl Vinson (for @sherpa SA), flew hundreds of combat missions during OIF, OEF, other. Had many other, "no kidding" commands. Turned down a possible VADM slot, and retired an O-8. Also held very high profile assignments as a civilian. Is that enough gouge for you to drop the repeated references? -
Bills vs Tampa Bay. On to Week 8

Agree completely. No sarcasm. Dear Mods: Please add a Hopium emoji-response. We really need it about now. Sincerely, DSK -
Ok, so if I have this correctly, is it fair to say, at least for first half: --Pre-snap protection calls and then communication (Dorsey-17-Oline) were damn good. --Lots of slide protections, understandably, and especially half-slides. As I recall, the latter is your "basic, day 1" call, so it should be relatively "easy" to have full knowledge and execute. --Not dealing with the actual throws: it seems 17 made a couple of drop-back/pocket errors, be they mental or physical. I would then assume that, second half, he was better(?) --First half was not Torrence's finest hour. Again, you're providing really valuable insights; I know it must be time consuming, so I'm especially appreciative.

Hoof: can't thank you enough brother. Read thru all the posts a couple of times. This is incredibly useful insight re what I/others see on the field. My only "critique": this is such a great basis for discussion that it deserves a stand alone thread!

@HoofHearted question/request: If/when you get a chance, can you do 'Line/QB Pass error analysis" for this game? Always interesting, helpful...realize it's probably time-consuming. May be available already in the many threads, but haven't seen it. Thanks.

Agree, and this is kinda strange: Giants game, 2nd down/2nd series, Bills put Gilliam at slot, and he ran a deep out. No split release, just up seam and to the boundary. Looked open.* I don't recall a similar release for DK but I obviously could be wrong. If not, would very much like to see they/him hit this route. *Apologies for repeating myself: I mentioned this in an earlier thread.

@Justice Yalla 'ahki!** I'm trying to work with you here. But, I must reply to your comments re Mo Amer and the "peace rally". If I may deconstruct: You: He’s standing for those he thinks needs standing up for more...Therefore Mo speaks up for those that are voiceless. Ugghhhh! This drives me nuts, as it's just a toss-off talking point. I mean, are you f'ing kidding me: do you really think Pals are "voiceless"? Have you ever been to/read/heard anything from UNRWA, UNHCR, EU, most governments, most international institutions, college campuses worldwide, Putin, Lavrov, Raisi, etc, etc, etc? This BS "voiceless" shibboleth must stop now. It's not true, does not survive critical thinking, and perpetuates a victimhood mentality that propagates a violence culture (yes, I've spent alot of non-tourist time in G&WB) You: Israel has been given a green light to kill their adversary and anyone in their way...Israel can wipe Palestinians off the face of the earth if they wanted to. Again, are you kidding me? Do you have first hand experience with Izzie, or US, or anyone's, military and strategic planning, operations, or culture? There's always more lawyers than you can shake a stick at. It's just dumb: nobody, in all my experience, has ever had a "license" to wipe anyone off the map. It's literally bananas. Maybe you're thinking of the Einsatzgruppen or the Hutu, or... Speaking of which, I guess the Izzies are kinda familiar with getting wiped off the face of the earth. Explain to me--logically, concisely--the current RoE, and I will let you off the hook. You: Palestinians weren’t given the same... Please re-read the Hamas (and other charters). I mean the real charter, not the BS political version. Really? Not "given" the same opportunity to wipe people off the map. It freaking quotes Hasan Al Bana and the Protocols, for christ sakes. Ok, I'm done. Peace good, war bad. ** Please stop the lack of critical thinking, and I'll stop with my crappy, very rusty Fusha. -

Yeah, fair enough. Mo Amer is pretty funny; seen him twice. Love the way he explains kos imak(!!)...and other Arabic swearing. But, gun to head, who's he really supporting? I mean he's a Pal, wearing a friggin coat that mirrors the Pal keffiyeh. If he showed up wearing a half-checked/half blue-white coat (or whatever) then I'd give him a little more credibility. But, ok, I'll give him benefit of the doubt on this one. -
Your very true feelings for tomorrow outcome

C'mon Fire, hang with me brother...do you really think I "fear" fan reaction, or this board?? It was a joke. But, as I should remember, sarcasm doesn't travel well on the inter-webs. -
Good choice OP (not incl @Taro Nimbus tragic memory. Allen 4TD/0TO/355y total. Team and fan base could use that about now.

Personally not worried about an L. My real fear: if close or, god forbid, we lose...this board will become autotrophic. -
Agree, and agreed. Evil Me sometimes wants to go old school, like w race horses back in the day (I spent waaay too much time at Keenland): shoot 'em up with Buprenorphine and have at it. I keeed, I keeed...

Goddamnit, I promised I would not further reply on this thread...I hate myself already! But, I'll try to be nice: please, please try to understand "blast analysis" before you comment. I'll put it simply: a JDAM makes a huge crater, propagates enormous over-pressure, has a very particular impact acoustic, and doesn't create an orange-red fireball. Go find available pics of the impact crater; it is TINY. Review the video you posted earlier. Look at the cars: they would be flat as pancakes from a JDAM. Zero question: this is impact via high order explosion from an unburnt glucose-nitrate (or other double-base) rocket motor, with secondary burn effects. Relating to your other comments: sorry you feel this way, and will simply reply "wa 'alaykum salam". -
Btw, my favorite play schematically was Gilliam running a "deep" out from the slot (2nd play/2nd series). Obviously, the primary target was Diggs on the quick slant but...the DB handed 41 off to the LB, who broke on it for two steps, then focused back to middle coverage. My point: kinda, sorta looked like 41 was going to be wide open (see around 3:30+ in vid). Would have loved to see the big man lumber down the field after catch, with lots of open grass in front of him.

For perspective: D is right now playing down $58M worth of players (cap hits +/-, incl Von here). And still showing up. Imagine your (not gigantic) business taking a $58 million hit, and still putting out quality product.

I'm not going to get in the middle of a Trump v Obama kerfuffle but...dude, are you freaking kidding me? In 2014, Russia annexed a little place called Crimea (part of UKR) then followed that up by taking over all of the Donbas (part of UKR). All using Russian troops. Euromaidan movement? Yanukovych? Little Green Men? Please tell me you've heard something about this, given that it was literally the start of the goddamn UKR-RF War. Pretty sure Obama was POTUS in 2014. And I think (maybe I'm wrong!) Putin was RF president in 2014. Uggh. Enough of this thread. Driving me nuts!! On the positive side: you are absolutely correct on this one. -
Zack Moss quietly having a very nice season so far
Dukestreetking replied to Dubie54's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm honestly not sure how to assess Moss. On such issues, I've decided on my strategy going forward: wait until @HoofHearted weighs in, then agree with everything he says.
