Joe Marino talks what the Bills have to do to beat KC in playoffs
FireChans replied to Nephilim17's topic in The Stadium Wall
Gary Kubiak was hired by the Broncos in 2015, he changed offensive schemes and defensive schemes and beat BB in the AFCCG. Coaching changes for contender status teams have been shots in the arm, not “transition years.” This is a very odd take. McVay didn’t need transition years. Does anyone think Haurbaugh is gonna need 3 years to rebuild the Chargers? I would argue that our biggest disadvantage very well may be Reid’s familiarity coaching against McD. -

It definitely means Harbaugh’s overrated. -
Patch something up doesn’t mean what I think you think it means. They managed to play together for half a year before Diggs started to dog it. Lots of guys have horrific relationships and play together in all sports. It doesn’t make the relationship less horrific. Diggs was gonna be here in 23 no matter what so he played. They traded him the second they feasibly could. PS - I’ll admit I 100% misinterpreted your “undeniable” lol

The 2016 Bills were much better than the 2012 Chiefs. This is legit inarguable lol. So the argument is that KC was making the playoffs every year with Reid and built a super team for Mahomes to start in, but the Bills, who make the playoffs every year with Allen, can’t also build a super team? So really, the difference is the teambullding of the Chiefs from 13-18 was far superior to the Bills of 19-24? Is that your opinion? -

This is a TOTAL whitewash of history. We started Andre Holmes because McD let Woods walk and traded Sammy Watkins. The 2016 team was much more talented than the 2017 team BECAUSE of McD/Beane and I’m not saying it was a bad idea. But that’s what happened. Andy Reid took over a 2-14 team. And they were established? -
Don’t double down on your “everyone is reading the tea leaves too much about Diggs” take now bro.

I guess because they think Andy would’ve won 3 in Philly eventually, even though even Philly fans are still like “glad that dude is gone.” -

What changed in KC is he got the greatest QB of his generation, instead of just a good QB. KC was a guaranteed playoff blunder every season until Mahomes walked through that door. Anyway, if you agree Reid doesn’t win 3 or even 1 in Philly, how is he anything but the poster boy for “good coach, but a change in leadership may help your team get over the hump faster?” We are not the Buffalo McDermotts. We are the Bills. -
It’s very interesting how you think your opinion, without any inside info, is undeniable, but when 3 separate posters with proven inside info tell you a different story, you just can’t help but disagree, otherwise all your preconceived notions would collapse. Bizzaro.

He actually couldn’t win it ever in Philly. Philly canned him and won a SB before he did. if McD is Andy in this comparison, and we are the Eagles, it’s absolutely in our benefit to fire McD lol I don’t care if McD goes and wins 3 SB’s with another team. -
Let’s trust the speculative opinion of “RoyBatty is alive” instead lmao

I’m not talking about Chase’s deal. I’m talking about his talent. This whole, “we don’t know what the talent will be” line of optimism works to a point. But Shakir won’t be better than Chase. Samuel won’t either. Coleman is a wildcard but a probably not. So, using that line of thinking, the Bills are probably bottom 10 at best from a weapons-standpoint IRT talent. Thats not “enough” imo.
-
2022 was not “so-so.” They had to call John Brown and Cole Beasley out of retirement mid-season. That’s a disaster. It’s not about holding those past mistakes against Beane, it’s about recognizing a pattern. If a guy continually ***** up the WR position for 3 straight years, why should we have faith in year 4? Honestly.

What is your definition of “enough?” Enough to win the AFCE? Sure. But that’s a low bar. Enough to make the playoffs? Sure. Enough to win a Super Bowl? Nah. Allen is elite. He can drag a bunch of bums to the postseason, I have no doubt. And while the future is unknown, there are some things we do know. We do know that Jamar Chase is better than Curtis Samuel, for example. And if every single guy of the JAG brigade matches their career highs, they still won’t be as good as Jamar Chase.

I'm not one to carry water for other posters, but I stumbled upon this earlier. You can look at @BADOLBILZ track record above. He was right. Beane was wrong. Beane/Brady "know" what they want until they make obvious mistakes and folks like you will go "aw shucks, who coulda seen this coming?" lol He had MVS in his sights so clearly that he signed Quintus Cephus the day after the draft?

You don’t say lol. So we are following the plan that has only really consistently worked with 2 teams that had arguably the two greatest QB’s of all time, along with arguably twonof the greatest HC’s of all time, along with arguably two of the greatest TE’s of all time. Welp, let’s hope for the best despite going 0/3 in those criteria. Oh man, 3/5. With all that investment, there’s no way we could have a destitute WR room and a gaggle of “weapons” led second best TE from the 2023 draft class.
