  1. Starts at 30:58 and goes to the end. https://foxsportsradio.iheart.com/TheDougGottliebShowPodcast/ Really very interesting interview that focused more about the QB position than individual players. I found it very insightful. He did mention Josh a few times including: Future of the QBs .. "being able to create time and space" - moving, making people miss like Mahomes, Josh Allen, Russell Wilson It was interesting that he did not mention Sam Darnold.
  2. Doc Brown has hit on something .. I think this tweet could mean lots of things: The marriage thing or he could be thinking on of the below or other thoughts 1) That corona virus thing ... It's about to get real in a couple of weeks. 2) Clemson basketball .. on the outside looking in but ... It's about to get real in a couple of weeks. 3) XFL season winding down ... ... It's about to get real in a couple of weeks. 4) I have a fecal impaction ... It's about to get real in a couple of weeks. 5) I set up my TwoBillsDrive account a few months ago .. and can soon start to post my own threads ... It's about to get real in a couple of weeks.
  3. You don't draft him because he is a kid of someone who played here. You draft him if you feel he has the on field talent and the off field mindset to make your team better. On field it appears based on his time in Minnesota and the combine results .. he has. Off the field field it sounds like he is similar to his dad .. that would be a great thing. I am not meeting with him and am not qualified to judge either of these things, but if he is like his dad .. yes I would be very interested. Not drafting a player just because they are the son of someone who played here is just as dumb as not wanting to look at former players who did well with us because they left. oy vey!
  4. There is a PFT interview discussed in this thread with a link where he talks through much of the same stuff .. actually went into depth about the prospect that was BSing.
  5. Yes .. I posted the year 1 vs year 2 article which in general josh met or exceeded the expectations. I think the point made above by @folz does give one hope that Josh can be a positive outlier. The dude just wants to be great! I think in the end it is just another data point that can help guide expectations.
  6. Beane discusses Knox, Ford picks and getting Lev as i drafted Free agent https://www.nbcsports.com/video/buffalo-bills-gm-brandon-beane-talks-past-nfl-draft-success-failure McDermott Talks building team and offense https://www.nbcsports.com/video/buffalo-bills-gm-brandon-beane-talks-past-nfl-draft-success-failure Interviewer asked good questions IMHO
  7. It really shows the real improvement ( with Stafford as an outlier) is between years 1 and 2. Josh will need to beat the average improvement to be anything other than a very average QB per the analysis https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2020/2/28/21155523/how-big-of-a-leap-should-buffalo-bills-expect-josh-allen-to-make-in-2020
  8. I agree that they were worth more when we traded them than they are now, but we were not ready to compete back then so it was sound strategy to trade them away and get resources that would help us once we turned the corner. The Patriots sell high approach to staying competitive over the long haul
  9. Yes .. in the playoffs, but as stated he is on his second team. In the regular season he only had 673 yards which is 100 yards less than Cole Beasley as an example and the Chiefs have made it clear that while they would like to keep him it will not be at his current salary.
  10. Glenn, Watkins, Dareus, Tyrod - all big name guys here in Buffalo back when they were traded .. and each on there second team or soon to be with reduced pay along the way. Of them, I wouldn't mind getting Tyrod (as a backup) back at some point and Glenn was always a stand-up guy .. due to injuries he would need to be cheap. Overall it looks like the Bills FO made the right call on these players.
  11. One thing I found interesting is that if Josh had not been available neither Rosen nor Lamar would have been the choice at number 12. With Lamar they may have felt that he could be had later in the first, but the not taking a QB first would have been a big surprise.
  12. I remember one of the Bills defenders .. I think it was Talley say they had gone the first half with extra DBs but in the second half they went with a more traditional defense. The oilers already had a history of choking so after we scored got the onside kick and scored again .. the offense started tightening up
  13. Sounds like trending in a very positive direction. Like his potential as a piece in our rotational line. https://billswire.usatoday.com/2020/02/21/buffalo-bills-harrison-phillips-acl-really-well/
  14. I would likely feel excited .. because we would have a new coach and be drafting a new QB as we would have been horrible and McDermott would I imagine have been fired. I was always excited when we started over because there was a chance. I would also be kicking myself because we missed out on Mahommes, and Watson, and that Josh Allen kid, but I would be hoping that our new QB would be able to finally change all of that. So ... happy we went against the crowd and chose Allen over Rosen.
  15. Talks a bit about what he got from his dad. Letting Antoine Winfield walk was one of those bad decisions that led to the drought. Would love to see him on the Bills. https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/2020/02/16/like-father-like-son-how-antoine-winfield-jr-echoes-the-play-style-of-his-pro-bowl-dad/2/
  16. A little good .. and a little bad with a lot of potential (which is how I feel). A very balanced take. https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/every_throw_graded_an_ultimate_scouting_report_of_buffalos_josh_allen/s1_13132_31350035
  17. Ed Oliver was 18, Singletary 26, and Cody Ford 44. https://draftwire.usatoday.com/gallery/nfl-rookies-2019-rankings-nick-bosa-josh-jacobs-kyler-murray/ Building through the draft and focused free agency will be the key to getting on top and staying there. We should avoid overpriced free agents .. even if they are ours.
  18. Cody Ford's response from Twitter Cody Ford ✞ @Cody_Ford74 "Thank You Bills Fans...the money you guys raised through the go fund me for my fine was donated to charity....My fine was reduced to just over 4K...I still believe I did nothing wrong on that play #BillsMafia" Classy!
  19. There will be others that can be had as well .. Interesting article by CBSSports documenting some of the worst positioned teams and the sacrifices they may need to make. This is why you do not overspend on any one player as you quickly get into an uncomfortable cap position. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-2020-these-five-teams-are-facing-difficult-personnel-decisions-cap-issues-and-more/
  20. Was talking to a Jets fan yesterday ... and he was raving not so much about how well Josh plays but rather how he plays .. all out all the time. He wants to see more of Josh on ?
  21. This is not intended to debate whether he is the franchise QB or not. It is just a well done hype video .. that gets the blood pumping for next season. It was put together by HashTag sports it appears. If you do not want to see great plays by Josh .. this is not the video for you.
  22. I imagine this is overblown. We have been in rebuilding mode and in the early stages of rebuilding with young talent you do not spend a ton on older players. Layer a few in to help the younger players adapt. As we are now in the win it mode I think he might look for some selective big ticket purchases that help put us over the top (e.g., Antonio Brown). I personally am not a big fan of paying top dollar for others players, but this does not strike me as top dollar and he definitely would fit a need so I am in favor (not that Beane and McDermott give a flying fig what I think - nor should they).
  23. Well you may be right .. but it really depends on how much of the 90 mil they spend on resigning their guys and how much they spend on other people’s FA
  24. Something that jut occurred to me as I was looking at the patriots draft picks .. if we can sign him to a reasonable deal great .. but if the price gets too high .. we will end up with a nice compensatory draft pick. The smart teams have been taking advantage of this system for years. Let a guy walk for high money .. don't pay the money and get a draft pick on a cheap contract for nothing. The not so smart teams overpay and get into cap hell .. looking at you Rams. let's be a smart team.
