  1. There's been talks for months now and nothing has happened. If Watson was going to be traded it would've happened before Miami started installing their playbook. Watson is not coming to Miami and the rumors are from outside sources. I also don't see how rumors correlate with what Tua's doing on the practice field...
  2. Tua's looking good in TC despite their absence; finally looks healthy and has some guys that can get open downfield. Both he and Waddle have been the talk of the first few days of camp.
  3. Gotcha. Hopefully they can work something out. Jones was viewed league wide as the better corner prior to 2020. DBs usually struggle in Flores' scheme the first year.
  4. On the flip side, Xavien always had a lingering injury and was never as good as he was in 2020. The team's record didn't bother him when Miami was losing but its an issue now? He didn't even play half of that '19 season because of an injury. Jones was better than Xavien thus Miami signing him to the most lucrative contract for a corner. They also drafted a 1st round corner because as I said, Howard had lingering issues (two season-ending IR lists back to back) . He goes on to have his best season in his career and wants more guaranteed money after being just an above average corner the previous three years.
  5. The most rational take that I've seen from an opposing fan. It's difficult to disagree with anything. I do think he can make a play or two unscripted from time-to-time but as you said, that's not his game.
  6. You must have not paid attention to his performance. All of his receivers at Bama were schemed wide open, his blocking was perfect, had a RB to take the load off, etc. He rarely had to perform off-script, throw into tight windows, backshoulders, etc in college. How does a rookie come into the NFL not raw? LOL. Andrew Luck was the most pro-ready QB that I've personally witnessed and even he struggled in his rookie season.
  7. So one game defines a player? Besides injuring his finger, I didn't see any signs of Tua being injury prone like you believe. His arm is adequate enough whether you want to believe it or not. Every QB doesn't have a howlitzer like Allen. What does team performance have to do with his success or lack thereof? Did he put Miami in worse situations while the defense and special teams scored every TD Miami scored last year? You know what they say about opinions...
  8. Miami started three rookies on their OL which ranked bottom 5 in the NFL, Parker is always hampered with an injury, their 3rd receiver opted out of the season, and their 2nd receiver was placed on IR in Tua's second start. Tua had to play with practice squad receivers down the stretch. He perhaps had a better supporting cast but it wasn't by as much as many think.
  9. You don't have to significantly outplay the best QBs to be a better team-- see Tannehill leading a better Titans team to while Watson is the best QB in the AFC South. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable making that big of a prediction until Tua showed more. Plus it's too far out. I do like the outlook of this Miami team especially if they can find a RB.
  10. Although it's actually his second, I view that Cardinals game as his first start since he barely did anything against the Rams. That LAR game was for sure led by the defense. Time will tell. Outside of a few runs, I didn't think much of Allen after his rookie season either but he immensely improved as the years went on.
  11. Did you watch all of Tua's snaps last season? Did you see him lead his to a win in his first start? Did you see him throw a well-placed 50 yard pass, from the endzone, down the field to a streaking WR who dropped a for sure 90 yard TD? Did you see his receivers drop the sixth most passes in the league? Did you see him almost bring his team back down three scores against the SB contenders without his top three receivers? We all know that Tua didn't have a good first year but he showed things that gave fans hope for the future. Every QB prospect isn't going to have a cannon arm and stiff-arm LBs like Allen.
  12. Prior to last year, Jones was viewed as the better corner which is why he got paid the way that he did. They didn't mess it up. Jones had issues adjusting to Miami's defense just like Xavien struggled in Flores' first year. Where's your research to back this claim up? Xavien got 10 INTs because he played his butt off. There was maybe one tipped or batted pass that led to an INT. Crazy thing is he could have had 3-4 more INTs. https://youtu.be/DI2PyzOW9n8
  13. Sure is. There's just a lot of hypocrisy from certain beat writers, and even "fans" down here. That's all.
  14. They never provide context when it's this man. The rain and them trying out new plays didn't even matter, Tua didn't have the best rookie season so let's rag on every mistake he makes. Omar saying that a QB shouldn't throw picks even if a hurricane is occurring LOL! He rebounded today nonetheless. I count 5 but people are saying 6 TDs 0 INTs. https://twitter.com/Safid_Deen/status/1405223230043049990?s=19 https://twitter.com/JCTSports/status/1405218472200712195?s=19 https://twitter.com/ArmandoSalguero/status/1405197506863054856?s=19
  15. The key word is "limited". He only played in 9 games. Did you watch the games that Miami won or the two games he was pulled?
  16. Coming from a Dolphins fan whose been around for a little over a decade, I'd say no. NE was the superior team every year but what really set them apart was the talent/coaching disparity. That disparity isn't there with you guys yet imo.
  17. Any proof of Tua not being able to throw fifteen yards with no velocity? Or are you just blindly following narratives?
  18. Most wouldn't agree with you but that is your opinion. Xavien and Rowe are top 10, top 5 in Howard's case, players at their positions. Byron Jones had an up and down year getting acclimated to Flores' scheme but is still a top corner. Coleman and McCourty in free agency. Drafted a true FS, Holland, to replace Bobby's shortcomings to go along with second-year SS Brandon Jones. Forgot LAR. That's probably the best overall secondary even after losing John Johnson. Packers have Jaire, Amos, King...?
  19. Who's better outside of NE, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh? Your own player, Stefon Diggs, even gave the Dolphins secondary credit in a recent interview.
  20. The franchise QB was jerked because he kept running into a wall. Are you going to jeopardize the game hoping the light turns on for the young QB midgame or do you put in the seasoned vet? They can't afford to do that this year nonetheless. Again, Flores isn't signing these players. He's not the GM. It's also been one offseason, affected by COVID fwiw, that they've cut players after they've signed. Not enough time for folks to assume a coach's habits and hold that against them. Did you all win a big games with Josh Allen his rookie season or did it happen in subsequent years?
  21. Business is business. Bobby has been a good player and team leader for Miami, but he was becoming redundant since Miami added younger more talented players. Flores' "attitude" turned a bottom 5 defense into a top 10 unit. He must be doing something right. He doesn't give big contracts to players, the GM does.
  22. But Miami didn't mainly play a 3-4. You're maybe confusing it with their 3-3-5 look but Brian Flores runs a multiple defense. McCain played well at his natural position--slot corner. The scheme didn't affect his play.
  23. No, Miami wanted to maximize their defense but didn't have a true safety so they cross trained him to play safety. You cant play for Flores if you're not versatile. I'd expect them to sign Malik Hooker next. Miami plays a multiple defense, not solely a 3-4.
  24. Gesicki and our backup Smythe are in their final years. Tell him to shut up!
  25. The Waddle pick transforms their offense. Defenses didn't just show little respect to Tua, they showed little respect to Miami's receivers too because they didn't have a deep threat. Everyone just put their safeties in the box. Adding Will Fuller, and now Jaylen Waddle, is going to open their offense up and allow them to get a run game going.
