This is very true, often the 1st round is where owners are involved the most and steer an organization to pick a player that'll move the needle with fans. A team thats been struggling will pack the "splash" pick to help market the team for the following year. Not always the BPA
Teams rarely have a 1st round grade for a player that late in the round. Jones is by far better than any player the Bills could take at 30.. The window is now to make it to a SB.
Would you trade this years #1 for Deion Jones and let Milano walk this year, and Edmunds walk next year? Falcons are in cap trouble and look like they are rebuilding.
Milano was suppose to be a guy athletic enough to cover TEs. Bills gave up more receptions to TE this year than any other team. Hes not a strong "box" LB as he really struggles against the run. Not real sure what the payoff is to pay him top dollar... Bills will let him walk, sign an AJ klein type guy and draft young.
Any one that doesnt think star isnt worth it doesnt understand football... He usually takes on 2 olineman freeing up backers. Look how often Edmunds got caught in the wash, or was met by a guard at 4yds. Thats because the dline couldnt take on blockers. Star is basically an olineman on D his job is to "block" as many dlineman as possible, making a tackle here and there. Not many players are that selfless and willing to do the dirty work like Star.
Dude youre not even close to right, Mahomes cap hit this year was 5mil. Bucs wrong Brady is at 27mil and evans around 18mil. Packers arents close with Rodgers cap at 21mil and Adams I believe at 16mil
Rodgers wasnt over 30 and Adams wasnt near 20...
possibly but there are enough making over 20m, and if you think youre the best youre gonna want to be the highest paid... Hopkins set the new bar IMO
I agree and Hope But when your the 16th highest paid at your position, and just had the season you did you and your agent are going to realize you're underpaid. Again look what happened with Hopkins.
