If they're still look like this by Thanksgiving, then there will be reason to start considering they're not for real. Until then, a bye and a game with Carolina couldn't have come at a better time.

Jones has been Oliver's partner for two+ years now and would have been right next to him again if he wasn't hurt. Walker's been the primary undertackle coming off the bench and would have been there tonight if Jones was healthy. Although if he keeps playing like he has been the last couple weeks, they're not going to be able to keep him off the field.

I don't care for Babich and think he's in over his head, but that patchwork mess that was out there tonight is not something that should serve as a final judgement. When you have Andreesen, Poyer, Cam Lewis and Javon Solomon all out there on the field at the same time, it's hard to point at the DC and say "there's your problem".

I know what a contain rush looks like and that is what McDermott has been typically asking of Rousseau for a significant portion of his career.

I'm fine with Rousseau; he's a perfect fit for what McDermott wants out of his Ends and when he's allowed more freedom (ala the last two weeks) he becomes much more impactful. Bernard was valuable in my mind mostly because he is (or was) a turnover magnet. But he's lost a step over the last year and is now often late for plays that he used to be on time for.

He's loosened Groot up a little bit the last two weeks and it's clearly made him a more impactful player. But that has not been the norm at all since he's been here.

He did make about two plays, which is two above his average.

Work harder. Play smarter.
